경사진 벽충돌 디젤 분무에 대한 수치해석에서 오류확산이 미치는 영향 (Analysis of the False Diffusion Effects in Numerical Simulation of Diesel Spray Impinging on Inclined Walls)

  • The false diffusion occurs generally when the flow is oblique to the grid lines and when there is a non-zero gradient of the dependent variable in the direction normal to the flow. This numerical problem can overestimate diffusion terms in the continuous phase, causing the numerical inaccuracy for the simulation of impinging sprays on inclined walls because most of spray calculation uses rectangular grid system. Therefore, the main objective of this article is to investigate numerically the influence of false diffusion on numerical simulation for spray-wall impingement on inclined walls. It is found that unlike the spray impingement normal to the wall, the numerical diffusion exists in the case when diesel sprays impinge on the inclined walls with different angles. The results show that the correction function should be considered for accurate prediction of spray penetration length and more elaborate numerical schemes should be utilized to reduce the false diffusion.

A Look-Up Table Based Error Diffusion Algorithm for Dynamic False Contour Reduction of Plasma Display Panels

  • PDP(plasma display panel) represents the gray levels by the pulse number modulation technique that results in undesirable dynamic false contours on moving images. This paper proposes a LUT(Look-up table) based error diffusion algorithm for reduction of the dynamic false contours. A quantitative measure of the dynamic false contours is defined first. The measure of the dynamic false contours is calculated through simulation of every gray level combination of two consecutive frames. Based on the calculated measures, a modified gray level for a pair of gray levels of two consecutive frames is chosen to reduce the dynamic false contours. The chosen gray levels serve as contents of a gray level conversion LUT. Given a pair of gray levels of two consecutive frames, the gray level of current frame is modified based on the gray level conversion LUT. The new gray level is displayed on PDP. An error diffusion algorithm is, then, applied to compensate for the differences in the gray levels.

플라즈마 디스플레이 패널의 어두운 영역에서의 계조 재현을 위한 실시간 영상처리기 (Real time Image Processor for Reproduction of Gray Levels in Dark Areas on Plasma Display Panel (PDP))

  • Plasma Display Panel (PDP) is required to be both the determination of white point of each gray level and the inverse gamma correction since no-balanced RGB cell and linear property of PDP, respectively. However, these two methods cause degradation of grey level representation and undesirable false contour in the dark areas on PDP. In this paper, we implemented real time image processor of the proposed error diffusion algorithm and unsharp masking operation to protect the blurring image caused by the error diffusion. Experimental results showed drastic improvements of gray level representation and reduction of undesirable false contour.

  • We reported the method for the relatively simple equalizing pulse to reduce dynamic false contour. Equalizing pulse is determined by look-up-table and moving direction and velocity of the image. Used lookup-table is a few. If image moves to right or left, necessary LUT is only one for the velocity of 1 pixel/tvfield to right or left. This technique makes the process simple after obtaining motion information.

  • Nylon textured yarn is usually manufactured by disk type false twist texturing. Dyeing properties of nylon textured yam have not been studied yet. In this study, dyeing properties of nylon textured yam according to draw ratio out of process parameters were investigated. The fact that microstructure of nylon textured yarn in amorphous region particularly is transformed by draw ratio was confirmed indirectly by measurement of dyeing rate because dyeing rate was affected by the structure of amorphous region. Dyeing rate at draw ratio 1.29 was the lowest because the higher draw ratio increase amorphous orientation and disturb dye diffusion into amorphous region. The microstructure according draw ratio was indirectly confirmed by 5% strength, tenacity, elongation. But difference in K/S value and fastness was insignificant.

  • Smoke detection is helpful for early fire detection. With its large coverage area and low cost, vision-based smoke detection technology is the main research direction of outdoor smoke detection. We propose a two-stage smoke detection method combined with block Deep Normalization and Convolutional Neural Network (DNCNN) and visual change image. In the first stage, each suspected smoke region is detected from each frame of the images by using block DNCNN. According to the physical characteristics of smoke diffusion, a concept of visual change image is put forward in this paper, which is constructed by the video motion change state of the suspected smoke regions, and can describe the physical diffusion characteristics of smoke in the time and space domains. In the second stage, the Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier is used to classify the Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) features of visual change images of the suspected smoke regions, in this way to reduce the false alarm caused by the smoke-like objects such as cloud and fog. Simulation experiments are carried out on two public datasets of smoke. Results show that the accuracy and recall rate of smoke detection are high, and the false alarm rate is much lower than that of other comparison methods.

  • The purpose of this study was to establish and provide guidelines for the standardized acquisition and interpretation of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) to improve the image quality and reduce the variability of the results interpretation. The standardized protocol includes the use of high-resolution DW-MRI with advanced techniques and post-processing. The aim of the protocol is to increase the effectiveness of the medical image information exchange involved in the construction, activation, and exchange of clinical information for healthcare use. An organized interpretation form could make DW-MRIs' interpretation easier and more familiar. Herein, the authors briefly review the basic principles, optimized image acquisition, standardized interpretation guidelines, false negative and false positive cases of DW-MRI, and provide a standard interpretation form and examples of various cases to help users become more familiar with the DW-MRI.

계조 수 감소를 이용한 PDP내에서 의사 윤곽 제거 기법 (Reduction of Dynamic False Contours based on Gray Level Selection method in PDP)

  • 본 논문에서는 PDP내에서 의사 윤곽이 발생할 가능성이 큰 화소를 찾고 대상 이미지에 따라 적응적으로 그 효과를 보상하는 방법을 제안한다. 우선 이미지의 화소 값 정보만을 이용해서 간단하면서 효과적으로 화소 값의 분포를 이용해서 화질의 저하를 야기하는 화소를 찾는 방법을 제안하였다. 다음으로 선택된 후보 화소 군을 특정영역으로 트리 구조를 통해서 그룹화하고 그 영역에서만 계조 수를 감소시킨다. 이 과정에서 의사 윤곽이 발생하는 영역에 한해서만 계조 감소가 필요하므로 전체 이미지가 아닌 그룹화 된 영역을 대상으로만 국한해서 계조 수를 감소시킨다. 마지막으로 계조 수 감소로 생긴 오차와 트리 구조를 이용한 그룹화로 생긴 오차를 오차 확산 기법을 이용해서 사람 눈에 잘 띄지 않게 한다. 제안한 기법은 정지 영상의 화소 값을 바꿈으로써 객관적인 화질의 손해 보는 대신에 의사 윤곽이 감소된 영상을 얻는다. 모의실험을 통해서 제안하는 의사 윤곽 제거 기법이 낮은 계산 복잡도를 가지면서 기존 방법들 보다 효과적으로 의사 윤곽을 제거함을 확인한다.

변형된 오차확산을 이용한 컬러 영상의 콘트라스트 개선 (Contrast enhancement of color images using modified error diffusion)

  • 본 논문에서는 변형된 오차확산 (ED: error diffusion)을 이용한 새로운 컬러 영상의 콘트라스트 개선 (CE: contrast enhancement) 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 기존의 컬러 히스토그램 평활화 (HE: histogram equalization)를 하면 콘트라스트가 개선된 영상에 잘못된 윤곽선 (false contour)과 같은 왜곡 현상들 (artifacts)이 생긴다. 변형된 ED를 이용한 제안하는 CE 알고리즘은 HE 부분과 ED의 두 부분으로 나눌 수 있다. 첫 번째 부분에서는 기존의 HE 방법으로 낮은 콘트라스트를 갖는 입력 영상의 콘트라스트를 개선하였고 두 번째 부분에서는 제안한 변형된 ED를 사용하였다. 두 번째 부분의 입력들은 낮은 콘트라스트를 갖는 원래의 컬러 입력 영상과 HE 영상의 평균과 차 영상이다. 이 때 원래의 컬러 입력 영상과 HE 영상 간의 차는 스케일링되어 ED에 의해 주변으로 확산된다. 제안한 방법에서 변형된 ED 기법은 HE 영상에서 생긴 왜곡 현상을 줄이고 더 많은 수의 컬러 값을 사용할 수 있도록 한다. 낮은 콘트라스트를 갖는 많은 영상들에 대해 실험한 결과에서, 제안한 CE 알고리즘의 결과가 probability mass function 뿐만 아니라 시각적인 측면에서 더 좋은 화질을 가짐을 보였다. 제안한 CE 알고리즘은 낮은 콘트라스트의 컬러 입력 영상을 CE 하면서 동시에 왜곡 현상을 줄이기 위한 다양한 디스플레이 장치에서의 후처리 기법으로 사용될 수 있다.

놀이이론 기반의 인터넷 루머의 집합적 확산자에 관한 연구 (Dynamic Process of Collective Internet Rumor Based on Play Theory)

  • The study examines the play theory based internet rumor process by using simulating tools, Vensim, which offer a new theoretical basis from which to explore complex adaptive social system. Internet rumor is not a simple linear diffusion process, but a complex interaction behavior between the actors of production and diffusion. Rumor actors consist of two type of diffusion, which is rumor mongers and playful mongers. These two type of mongers make the internet rumor as collective system. Playful mongers play strategically to maximize playfulness. Internet rumor as play is consequence of collective framing constituted by dynamic interaction and playfulness. The networking space spreading internet rumor function as a playground which mobilize play rule, ignoring fact based framing. Rumor as paly, even though it turns out to be a false and loses the public attentions rumor sustains the game play function which makes the rumor without natural extinction. The study proves that playful mongers is a main actors in rumor play ground.
