Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify the elements of success in curriculum reformation using focus group interview and faculty survey. Methods: We analyzed the 105 questionnaires that were collected horn 450 faculties in Yonsei University College of Medicine from September 1 to September 12, 2005. The interview of focus group was conducted to 105 faculty and students using 10 interview questions from July 25 to August 29, 2005. The data of focus group interview and faculty survey were analyzed by content analysis. frequency and percentile. Results : 66.7% of faculty have pointed out that it is right a direction of new curriculum but there are some problems in curriculum management. The most frequently addressed problem in the new curriculum is as follows : ability of self-directed learning(15.3%). deficiency of faculty understanding(10.5%). The faculty comments on the improvement areas of new curriculum such as curriculum revision (8.6%). efficiency of curriculum management (6.7%), reward and incentive system of education(6.7%). The focus groups pointed out the important factors of curriculum reformation such as horizontal and vertical integrity between subjects, improvement of student achievement test, enhancement of self-directed learning. responsibility and authorities of course director. Conclusions : It should be concluded. to succeed curriculum reformation, which the purpose of curriculum reformation announces obviously and management group should effort continuously so that professors may understand the new curriculum. The course directors have to responsibility and authorities operating the subjects and the university should develop the students' evaluation system and faculty performance appraisal system.

Background: In this study, we aimed to determine platelet indices such as platelet count (PLT), mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), Plateletcrit (PCT) platelet count (PLT) in lung cancer cases, and evaluate any relationships between these parameters and stage or histologic types. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study covered 44 lung cancer patients and 47 healthy subjects. Platelet indices including PLT, PCT, MPV, PDW were estimated and compared with normal subjects. The results were evaluated statistically. Results: The PDW value was significantly higher in the cancer group compared to the control group; however, the values for PCT and MPV were lower. Conclusions: We suggest potential use of platelet indices in diagnosis of lung cancer.

이 연구의 목적은 지식정보사회가 요구하는 전문사서직의 한 유형으로서 교수사서제의 의의와 적용의 문제 그리고 그 발전 요소들을 논의하는데 있다. 대학사서에게 교수지위를 부여하게 된 배경과 발전과정을 개관하고, 현재 교수지위를 부여하고 있는 미국의 현황을 중심으로 교수사서제가 대학도서관의 발전에 미치는 긍정적, 부정적 영향을 고찰하였다. 마지막으로 대학도서관의 교수사서제가 적용, 발전되기 위해서 검토되어야 할 문제점들을 교수사서의 직위체계, 자격, 평가 그리고 교육의 측면에서 논의하였다.

In this paper, we describe the composition of frequency response bands based on experimental data of plants (controlled systems) with uncertainty and nonlinearity, and the robust stability evaluation of feedback control systems. Analysis and design of control systems using the upper and lower bounds of such experimental data would be effective as a practicable method which is not heavily dependent upon mathematical models such as the transfer function. First, we present a method to composite gain characteristic bands of frequency response of cascade connected plants with uncertainty and a recurrent inequality for the composition. Next, evaluation methods of the robust stability of multi-loop control systems obtained through feedback from the output terminals and multi-loop control systems obtained through feedback into the input terminals are described. In actual control systems, experimental data of frequency responses often depends on the amplitude of input. Therefore, we present the evaluation method of the nominal value and the width of the frequency response band in such a case, and finally give numerical examples based on virtual experimental data.

The clinical clerkship focuses students on developing their ability to perform comprehensive diagnosis and management of patients with common undifferentiated problems by the integration of knowledge and clinical reasoning. Therefore, the clerkship evaluation system should assess their actual problem solving and professional behavior. However, concern remains that clerkship evaluations are imprecise and highly variable. This review is designed to provide faculty members with concepts, options, and a methodology to actively teach and evaluate the clinical clerkship, as well as offer encouragement and inspiration to medical students. We reviewed past and current clinical clerkship evaluations and discuss several tips to improve clinical excellence such as continuity, transparency of the evaluation process, a faculty development program, practical examination of clinical skills, implementation of a checklist for recording exposure and skills, providing prompt and constructive feedback to students, self-evaluation of professional performance, varying multi-faceted assessment combinations, being outpatient clinic-centered, and having dedicated faculty members who give students one-on-one contact with a preceptor.

우리 생활 전반은 인터넷 서비스의 확대 보급으로 많은 변화를 보이고 있으며 학교 현장 역시 인터넷과 학교 전산망이 설치되어 교육에 필요한 다양한 정보의 수집과 탐색이 용이해짐으로써 인터넷을 활용한 웹 기반 가상 수업 실시, 실시간 평가, 학습 진도 관리 등 새로운 형태의 교육 활동이 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문은 문제의 정답이 한가지로 이루어진 단답형 문제가 아니라 간단한 문장으로 이루어진 문제를 처리할 수 있는 웹 기반 온라인 주관식 문항 평가 시스템을 학습자의 성취 수준을 보다 빠르게 정확하게 알 수 있도록 하였다. 정확히 규정된 정답과 정확한 채점 기준이 있는 주관식 문제는 교사가 직접 채점하는 경우와 유사한 정확성을 가지고 있으며 채점 시간의 신속성이 매우 높아서 평가 결과의 실시간 피드백이 가능하여 주관식 문제를 평가하는데 그 효율성이 기대된다.

Twenty nine substituted thiaxanthone derivatives were synthesized for schistosomicidal evaluation. The compounds, 1-morpholino-4-methyl-6-nitrothiaxanthone and 1-(2-diethyl-aminoethyl-amino)-4 methyl-6-nitrothiaxanthone dipicrate were found to possess promising schistosomicidal activity against Schistosoma mansoni in mice.

The method for evaluation of the particle size distribution of fine particles from hysteresis loop measurements is Presented. The method is illustrated on the SiO$_2$-based Co nanoparticle systems. The influence of technological conditions of sample preparation onto particle size distribution is investigated.
