In this paper, we aim to advance our knowledge about factors influencing rapid globalization of firms in Korea. Through analysing empirically, this study focuses on the effect of technology competencies and marketing competencies and network in Korea rapid globalization. The subject of this study was foreign subsidiaries that entered in korea to expand their business overseas. This study are examined by the sample of 186 foreign subsidiaries operating in Korea. The empirical results from structural equation modeling and regression analysis. Our findings show that marketing competencies, technological competencies and network are key drivers of rapid globalization in Korea market. Meanwhile, we also find that marketing competencies related to overseas market development in B2C foreign subsidiaries and technology competencies related to overseas market development in B2B foreign subsidiaries. And it was revealed in the path analysis using AMOS model that the relevancy of the study model was higher for B2C foreign subsidiaries than B2B foreign subsidiaries and the explanatory power(statistic index) revealed to be 31.9% higher for B2C foreign subsidiaries than B2B foreign subsidiaries in the effect relation on the rapid globalization in Korea market. Company type (B2C/B2B) was revealed moderating factor on the rapid globalization. Our study confirmed that marketing, technological competencies and network of firms effects on the rapid globalization in Korea.

The main roots of CM service contracts include existing customer repurchases and those made by new customers by existing ones. The study on customers and loyalty can be factors to strengthen CM's competitiveness. However, there have been little attempt to study customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. Construction Management (CM), the advanced construction management method, was introduced 15 years ago in the mid 1990's in the domestic market. The aim of this research is to build a model that can predict customer loyalty based on how much customers are satisfied with CM service. To measure customer satisfaction and loyalty, this research surveyed 135 decision-makers who have experienced CM services. Customer satisfaction was tested and analyzed according to different phases: planning, designing, procurement, construction, and post construction. Referral intention was tested based on NPS theory. Customer types were divided into detractors, passively satisfied and promoters according to the tested measurement and multinomial logistic regression between the satisfaction by construction phases and customer types. This research resulted to a model that can predict customer types: detractors, passively satisfied and promoters, which were determined according to satisfaction level. The initial planning phase also revealed which factor is most influential for a customer to become promoter. These results can be used to acquire customer loyalty by managing the satisfaction of customers through a project under an Internet-based environment. Such can provide the needed information in quickly exploring positive and negative word-of-mouth feedbacks.
Batch experiments were carried out for adsorption equilibrium, kinetics and thermodynamic parameters of the brilliant brown R onto granular activated carbon. The operating variables studied were the initial dye concentration, contact time and temperature. Experimental equilibrium adsorption data were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm by linear regression method. The equilibrium process was well described by Freundlich isotherm model and from the determined separation factor (1/n), granular activated carbon could be employed as an effective treatment for the removal of bismarck brown R. From kinetic experiments, the adsorption processes were found to confirm the pseudo second order model with a good correlation and the adsorption rate constant ($k_2$) increased with increasing adsorption temperature. Thermodynamic parameters like the activation energy, change of Gibbs free energy, enthalpy, and entropy were also calculated to predict the nature of adsorption in the temperature range of 298~318 K. The activation energy was determined as 8.73 kJ/mol for 100 mg/L. It was found that the adsorption of bismarck brown R on the granular activated carbon was physical process. The negative Gibbs free energy change (${\Delta}G$ = -2.59~-4.92 kJ/mol) and the positive enthalpy change (${\Delta}H$ = +26.34 kJ/mol) are indicative of the spontaneous and endothermic nature of the adsorption process.
It was investigated on the relationship of the rice blast epidemics and the real-time meteorological factors, at the experimental paddy field in 1997. Weather factors(temperature, relative humidity, irradiation, precipitation, the direction of wind, wind speed, soil temperature and leaf-wetness, etc) were measured by using the automated weather station. The most influenced weather factor to blast epidemics, was the average max-temp($R^2$= 0.95) during 10 days before leaf blast epidemics, while the least thing was wind speed($R^2$= 0.24). The most potential weather factors correlated with the blast epidemics were T-ave(average temperature), T-max(maximum temperature), RH(Relative Humidity) and RD(Relative Humidity > 90% hrs). A statistics model(the regression equation) of the blast epidemics with the potential weather factors, was established as tallows ; Y = -3410.91 - 23.91 $\times$ T-ave + 28.56 $\times$ T-max + 41.0 $\times$ RH - 3.75 $\times$ RD, ($R^2$= 0.99). (T-ave >= 19$^{\circ}C$, T-max - T-ave >= 5.2$^{\circ}C$ and RH% >= 90.4%). According to the fitness test($\chi$$^2$) of the model, the observed blast disease severity was quite close to those expected.

In order to minimize the trial frequency in the new filter cigarette design, we studied the relationship between smoke yield and tipping materials of cigarette. A three levels full factorial design involving filament denier (X1,2.5-3.3d), Porosity of the acetate filter plug wrap (X2, 3,500-16,000CU) and porosity of the tip paper (X3, 400-1,200CU) was used. Three independent factors (Xl, X2, X3) were chosen for their effects on the various responses and the function was expressed in terms of a quadratic polynomial equation, Y : $\beta$o + $\beta$1Xl + $\beta$2X2 + $\beta$3X3 + $\beta$11Xl2 + $\beta$22X22+ $\beta$33X32 + $\beta$12X1X2 + $\beta$13XIX3 $\beta$23X2X3 which measures the linear, quadratic, and interaction effects. Twenty-nine trial numbers were obtained as a results of using a three levels full factorial design and it was analyzed by the multiple regression analysis with backward stepwise in STATISTICA/pc under restricted conditions. Tar yields of the cigarette was affected by porosity of tip paper (0.66), filament denier (0.47) and porosity of plug wrap (0.28) in the decreasing order, and linear effect of tip paper porosity (B3) and filament denier (91) were significant at a level of 0.01($\alpha$). The filament denier and tipping paper porosity interaction F ratio among three factors had a P-value of 0,000041, indicating higher interaction between these factors. Based on the analysis of variance, the model fitted for Tar (Y1) was significant at 5% confidence level and the coefficient of determination (0.96) was the proportion of variability in the data fitted for by the model.
Staphylococcus aureus lipase is regarded as a virulence factor. The response of lipase activity to various factors can provide important insights concerning the prevention of S. aureus during meat fermentation. This study was conducted to evaluate the main effects of nutrients used in culture media, and their combined effects on the inhibition of lipase activity and cell growth of pathogenic S. aureus SK1593 isolated from fermented pork meat. A Plackett-Burman design was used to evaluate the main effects of variables, including olive oil, soybean oil, grapeseed oil, sesame oil, $CuSO_4$, $MgCl_2$, $KNO_3$, $CaCl_2$, and KCl. Significant negative effects on lipase activity were detected with soybean oil, grapeseed oil, $KNO_3$, and $CaCl_2$. Additionally, these nutrients were further selected as variables for the investigation of their combined effect on lipase activity, via response surface methodology. In order to confirm the regression model, a situation that only inhibits lipase activity was simulated. The predicted lipase activity and cell growth of the simulated situation were 14.0 U/mL and $9.6\;{\log}_{10}$ (CFU/mL), respectively, and the estimated value of those in the same medium showed 15.14 U/mL and $9.4\;{\log}_{10}$(CFU/mL) respectively. The lipase activity of the simulated medium was inhibited approximately 5-fold as compared to the basal medium, but no significant differences in cell counts were noted to exist between the basal and simulated media. These results suggest that soybean oil, grapeseed oil, $KNO_3$, and $CaCl_2$ can be used to inhibit the growth of pathogenic S. aureus during the process of meat fermentation.
Purpose - The convenience store business sector in South Korea has contributed to economic growth and job creation, and the growth potential of this market segment remains very high. In addition, service value is a more important factor than price in determining purchase intention. Research in the convenience store market is relatively very low compared to other retail sectors. In particular, research on service quality for the convenience of retailers who examine and analyze customer behavior and service quality factors used in the convenience store side of the situation is very inadequate. We have investigated the relationship of store service quality, service satisfaction, and store loyalty. In addition, we have examined the way service value moderates the relationship among these variables. Research design, data, and methodology - The questionnaire was developed using modified and supplementary questions based on the KD-SQS and RSQS models. The study suggested a theoretical model composed of 15 hypotheses on the relations between theoretic variables, and surveys conducted with consumers in discount stores in the Seoul and Gyunggi Metropolitan area in order to verify the hypotheses. We used the SPSS/PC statistical packages to analyze the results. The number of surveys used was 227. Moreover, a structural equating model was also used to analyze the reliability and validity of the composing elements and to verify the suggested hypotheses. Results - The overall results of this study are as follows. First, all service quality elements have a significant effect on service satisfaction. Second, all service quality elements have a significant effect on store loyalty. Third, service satisfaction has a significant effect on store loyalty. Finally, when the participants were divided into high and low service value the results of the multiple regression analyses showed that only the relationship between policy of service quality and satisfaction, and human interaction and policy of service quality and loyalty were significant. The implications are discussed based on the findings of the study. Conclusions - First, through direct hypotheses testing, we confirmed that the convenience service quality positively impacts the service satisfaction and loyalty of buyers. In particular, the reliability, origin benefit, and promotion were found to have more influence on satisfaction and loyalty of consumers of a convenience store. Further, for the service quality of the convenience for the consumer loyalty, greater human interaction was a high-value and statistically significantly higher than the degree of improvement in consumer loyalty. This underscores the importance of education and human services management of employees working in a convenience store. In particular, frequent changes in personnel generate results that negatively impact loyalty with customers. These results may lead to a serious problem in the economics of the store. Therefore, it should enhance the value of services through the establishment of training and compensation for employees. In addition, a certain educational level is required as well as a basis for compensation and retention.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship between internal capabilities and job satisfaction using the 7S model and propose measures to improve management performance through internal factors. For this study, seven research hypotheses were set up, and the survey conducted among members of all professions working in general hospitals in small and medium-sized cities in the provinces. From September 20 to October 20, 2016, 385 people were surveyed, and 327 pieces of data (84.9%) used for the study. Multiple regression analyses were performed to verify the effects of internal capabilities on job satisfaction. The analysis results showed that the explanatory power of the research model was suitable by showing 69.1%, and among the 7S factors, the leadership style (β=.392**), the organizational structure (β=.129*), the membership (β=.232**), and the management technique (β=.204*) showed a positive influence on job satisfaction. That has been confirmed to affect job satisfaction as the standardized factor values increase. Relationships between strategies, systems, and shared values on job satisfaction could not be identified. Significantly observed in the relationship between some internal capacity factors and job satisfaction is that internal capacity can be used as an alternative to an organization's performance improvement measures. Internal capacity can be affected by various environmental variables, such as establishment classification, size, and location. Further implications will also be provided for measuring future internal satisfaction levels separately from internal and external factors.
Pseudocercospora leaf spot was major disease of grape cultivar 'Campbell Early' in Korea. Leaf spot first appeared in early June and rapidly dispersed to other leaves through rainy season. Disease progress of leaf spot by Pseudocercospora vitis in plastic green house, in the two provinces (Gimje and Gimcheon), were investigated in 2007. Differences of Infected leaves (%) between cultivation systems were observed in field and plastic green house, but there was no difference between provinces. Micro environmental factors, such as temperature and relative humidity, were correlated with infected leaves by PROC REG procedure of SAS (Statistical Analysis System). As a result, regression model best described ($R^2=0.95^{**}$) the infected leaves as a function of the interaction of cumulated temperatures; Y (Infected leaves)=-7.0101+0.0496$\times$20Hcum (Cumulated hour above 20 degree)+0.0208$\times$20cum (Cumulated temperature above 20 degree)-0.2781$\times$25Hcum (Cumulated hour above 25 degree). A statistics model was shown that cumulated hour and temperature above specific degree were critical factor for Pseudocercospora leaf spot on the grapevine leaves in plastic green house.
Despite many theoretical and empirical studies, general causality between IPRs system, firm technological innovation and financial performance is not clear. This study notices that the core factor to create financial performance is different by each industry. The study analyzed the effect of IPRs system on innovation and economic growth targeting 3 industries; pharmaceutical industry to which the basic track of creating performance is applied (strengthening IPRs${\rightarrow}$increasing R&D input/output${\rightarrow}$increasing sales); semiconductor industry where the relationship between stronger IPRs and R&D input/output is weak; and shipbuilding industry which has weak correlation between R&D and sales. It used panel data for 15 years since TRIPs when the patent institution in Korea reached up to the level of advanced countries, and applied the dynamic regression model which estimates the fixed effect model with difference-GMM. As a result, stronger IPRs increased R&D input/output, and financial performance in pharmaceutical industry, but has no influence on semiconductor and shipbuilding industries. That is, it is necessary to customize the construction of system and policy for strengthening IPRs by each industry, and unitary strengthening or weakening may have no significant impact on financial performance improvement in specific sectors.
