퍼지이론과 전문가 시스템을 이용한 철도 전력 설비의 고장률 평가와 유지보수 우선순위의 결정 (Estimation for Failure Rate of Railway Power Facility and Determination of Maintenance Priority Order using Fuzzy Theory and Expert System)

  • As the Reliability Centered Maintenance(RCM) is being studied, maintenance tasks can be performed effectively through the Risk Priority Number(RPN) evaluation about the components in the system. The RPN is usually calculated through arithmetical operations of three values, Severity, Occurrence, and Detection for each facility. This RPN provides information that includes risk level of the facility and the priority order of maintenance tasks for facility. However, if there is no sufficient historical failure data, it is difficult to calculate the RPN. In this case, historical failure data from other sources can be used and apply this data to korean railway system. In this paper, it is proposed that a new methodology to model the failure rate as a fuzzy membership function. This method is based on failure data from other sources by means of the fuzzy theory and the expert opinion system. And considering assessment tendency of each expert, distortions that happened when the failure rate of facilities is estimated were minimized. This results determine Occurrence values of facilities. Taking advantage of this result., the RPN can be calculated with Severity and Detection of facilities by using the fuzzy operation. The proposed method is applied the rail-way power substation.

항만시설 유지관리 의사결정 지원 시스템 개발 연구 (A Study of Port Facility Maintenance and Decision-making Support System Development)

  • 연구목적: 현재 항만시설 정보화 기술은 계획과 설계단계에 편중되어 있어 생애주기 차원의 정보를 기반으로 한 항만시설 유지관리 체계에 관한 연구와 기술 개발의 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 연구방법: 항만시설의 유지관리 이력 데이터 및 시설 운영정보를 기반으로 항만시설의 생애 주기적 관점에서 노후화 패턴 분석과 성능저하 예측 모델, 리스크 분석을 통해 항만시설에 대한 유지관리 의사결정이 가능하도록 시스템 구성하고 정보를 표출하는 방법을 제안하였다. 연구결과: SOC성능평가와 본 연구에서 개발한 종합성능평가를 동시에 표출하는 기능을 개발하여 중장기적인 보수보강 및 시설 확충 등의 적용과 비교판단을 할 수 있도록 개발하였다. 결론:본 연구에서 개발한 항만 통합성능 시스템은 항만시설물에 대한 이력 정보 및 운영정보를 통해 적정한 보수, 보강 등 조치를 선제적으로 추진하게 함으로서 항만시설관리의 리스크 최소화를 유도하고 지원할 것으로 기대된다.

재해분석을 통한 화학공장의 위험성 평가에 따른 화학설비의 위험도 우선순위 (Risk Priority Number of Chemical Facilities by the Risk Assessment of Injury Analysis in the Chemical Plant)

  • 최근 화학공장에서는 대형 폭발사고 등이 주로 유지 보수의 정비 시에 많이 발생되고 있다. 정비 시에 효과적인 재해예방을 하기 위해서는 핵심대상을 찾는 것이 매우 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 재해예방의 핵심요인을 찾기 위해 핵심대상으로 화학설비를 선정하였고, 화학설비별로 위험순위도를 정하여 재해예방의 대책을 세우는 우선순위를 밝히고자 하였다. 연구방법으로 화학설비의 종류는 재해분석을 통하여 찾고, 화학설비별 위험도는 재해분석을 통해 가능성인 재해빈도와 중대성인 재해강도의 근로손실일 수를 기준하여 산정하였다. 또한 화학설비별로 전문가들의 지식과 경험을 바탕으로 한 지식기반 기법에 의한 가능성과 중대성 자료를 활용하여 위험도를 산정하였다. 연구결과, 화학공장의 정비 시에 재해예방을 위해 화학설비별 위험순위는 반응기, 건조기, 탱크로리 등의 순위로 나타났다. 이 결과로부터 화학공장의 정비 시에 재해예방을 위해 위험순위에 따른 각별한 대책과 주의를 기울여야 할 것으로 사료된다.

산사태위험지도를 이용한 도로중심 복합재난 위험도 평가 (Complex Disaster Risk Assessment of Local Road using a Landslide Hazard Map)

  • 국내 재해위험지도는 주로 격자단위 및 재해 유형별 단일 재해지도로 제작 및 연구되고 있어 도로관리 중심으로 접근할 경우 그 활용도가 떨어진다. 특히 주로 시설의 유지관리를 담당하는 실무자의 업무활용을 위해서는 보다 해당시설 (지방도로)에 맞는 재해위험지도의 평가방법을 제시할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 산림청에서 제공하고 있는 산사태위험지도 및 토석류위험지도를 활용하여 지방도를 중심으로 위험도를 평가할 수 있는 평가방법을 제시하였다. 또한 강원도에 위치한 지방도를 대상으로 위험도를 평가하고 검증하였다. 평가결과 총연장 234.59 km의 평가구간에서 1,513개의 평가구간에 대한 1~5등급의 위험도를 평가할 수 있었다.

Economical selection of optimum pressurized hollow fiber membrane modules in water purification system using RbLCC

  • A water treatment utility in South Korea operates a large system of pressurized hollow fiber membrane (PHFM) modules. The optimal selection of membrane module for the full scale plant was critical issue and carried out using Risk-based Life Cycle Cost (RbLCC) analysis based on the historical data of operation and maintenance. The RbLCC analysis was used in the process of decision-making for replacing aged modules. The initial purchasing cost and the value at risk during operation were considered together. The failure of modules occurs stochastically depending on the physical deterioration with usage over time. The life span of module was used as a factor for the failure of Poisson's probability model, which was used to obtain the probability of failure during the operation. The RbLCC was calculated by combining the initial cost and the value at risk without its warranty term. Additionally, the properties of membrane were considered to select the optimum product. Results showed that the module's life span in the system was ten years (120 month) with safety factor. The optimum product was selected from six candidates membrane for a full scale water treatment facility. This method could be used to make the optimum and rational decision for the operation of membrane water purification facility.

Risk Assessment for Toluene Diisocyanate and Respiratory Disease Human Studies

  • Background: Toluene diisocyanate (TDI) is a highly reactive chemical that causes sensitization and has also been associated with increased lung cancer. A risk assessment was conducted based on occupational epidemiologic estimates for several health outcomes. Methods: Exposure and outcome details were extracted from published studies and a NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation for new onset asthma, pulmonary function measurements, symptom prevalence, and mortality from lung cancer and respiratory disease. Summary exposure-response estimates were calculated taking into account relative precision and possible survivor selection effects. Attributable incidence of sensitization was estimated as were annual proportional losses of pulmonary function. Excess lifetime risks and benchmark doses were calculated. Results: Respiratory outcomes exhibited strong survivor bias. Asthma/sensitization exposure response decreased with increasing facility-average TDI air concentration as did TDI-associated pulmonary impairment. In a mortality cohort where mean employment duration was less than 1 year, survivor bias pre-empted estimation of lung cancer and respiratory disease exposure response. Conclusion: Controlling for survivor bias and assuming a linear dose-response with facility-average TDI concentrations, excess lifetime risks exceeding one per thousand occurred at about 2 ppt TDI for sensitization and respiratory impairment. Under alternate assumptions regarding stationary and cumulative effects, one per thousand excess risks were estimated at TDI concentrations of 10 - 30 ppt. The unexplained reported excess mortality from lung cancer and other lung diseases, if attributable to TDI or associated emissions, could represent a lifetime risk comparable to that of sensitization.

Occupational Exposure to Antineoplastic Drugs: Identification of Job Categories Potentially Exposed throughout the Hospital Medication System

  • Objectives: Studies examining healthcare workers' exposure to antineoplastic drugs have focused on the drug preparation or drug administration areas. However, such an approach has probably underestimated the overall exposure risk as the drugs need to be delivered to the facility, transported internally and then disposed. The objective of this study is to determine whether drug contamination occurs throughout a facility and, simultaneously, to identify those job categories that are potentially exposed. Methods: This was a multi-site study based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Interviews were conducted to determine the departments where the drugs travel. Subsequent site observations were performed to ascertain those surfaces which frequently came into contact with antineoplastic drugs and to determine the job categories which are likely to contact these surfaces. Wipe samples were collected to quantify surface contamination. Results: Surface contamination was found in all six stages of the hospital medication system. Job categories consistently found to be at risk of exposure were nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy receivers. Up to 11 job categories per site may be at risk of exposure at some point during the hospital medication system. Conclusion: We found drug contamination on select surfaces at every stage of the medication system, which indicates the existence of an exposure potential throughout the facility. Our results suggest that a broader range of workers are potentially exposed than has been previously examined. These results will allow us to develop a more inclusive exposure assessment encompassing all healthcare workers that are at risk throughout the hospital medication system.

지하매설물 속성을 활용한 기계학습 기반 지반함몰 위험도 예측모델 개발 (Development of Machine Learning Model to Predict the Ground Subsidence Risk Grade According to the Characteristics of Underground Facility)

  • 인구 밀집도가 높은 도시 중심지에서 발생하는 지반함몰의 주요 원인은 하수관 및 상수관과 같은 지하매설물의 손상으로 알려져 있다. 이와 관련하여 지반함몰의 원인 규명과 지반함몰 위험 예측에 관한 연구가 꾸준히 수행되고 있다. 현재 지반함몰은 지중탐사레이더를 통해 선제적으로 공동을 발견하여 대응하고 있으나, 이는 인력 및 비용의 소비가 크기 때문에 효율적인 장비의 운영을 위해 위험지역을 예측하고 예측된 지역을 우선순위로 탐사해야 할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 ◯◯시의 2개 구를 500m×500m 크기의 그리드로 분할하고, 해당 그리드 내의 지하매설관 속성과 지반함몰 발생 데이터를 활용하여 데이터셋을 구축하였다. 구축된 데이터셋으로 기계학습을 통한 적절한 지반함몰 위험등급 예측 모델을 제시하였고, 제시된 모델을 활용하여 대상지역의 지반함몰 위험지도를 제시하고자 하였다.

A quantitative modeling approach to estimate the risks posed by the smuggled animal products contaminated with Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) virus

  • A quantitative risk assessment tool was used to provide estimates of the probability that foot-and-mouth (FMD) virus-contaminated, smuggled animal products are fed to susceptible swine in Korea. Sensitivity analyses were conducted to attempt to distinguish between parameter uncertainty and variability, using different assumptions on the effect of cooking at home, the effect of the fresh meat, and the effect of heat treatment at garbage processing facility. The median risk estimate was about 20.1% with a mean value of 27.4%. In a scenario regarding all beef and pork were considered as fresh meat the estimated median risk was 3.4%. The risk was greatly dependent on the survival parameters of the FMD virus during the cooking or heat treatment at garbage processing facility. Uncertainty about the proportion of garbage that is likely contaminated with FMD had a major positive influence on the risk, whereas conversion rate representing the size of a load had a major negative effect. This model was very useful in assessing the risk explored. However, the model also requires enhancements, such as the availability of more accurate data to verify the various assumptions considered such as FMD prevalence in a specific country, proportion of garbage which is recycled as feed, proportion of food discarded as garbage. Other factors including the effect of selection of animals for slaughter, ante- and post-mortem inspection, the domestic distribution of the smuggled products, and susceptible animals other than pigs, are need to be taken into account in the future model development.

CFD code를 이용한 철도터널 화재 위험도 평가 (The Quantitative Risk Assessment for Railroad-tunnel Fire Incidents by using CFD code)

  • Recently, railroad long tunnels are increasing and growing longer due to topological feathers like a lot of mountain in Korea. But fire disaster of a long tunnel cause many people to injury and death. For that reason, at the early design stage of a long tunnel, risk assessment and mitigation measure of risk for satisfying tunnel safety are required. According to the railroad facility safety standard (Korean MLTM Announcement No. 2006-395), risk assessment for railroad-tunnel fire should be performed when design stage. Therefore, various methods of risk assessment for tunnel fire have been studied and applied. In the paper, QRA(Quantitative Risk Analysis) for fire risk assessment by using CFD code is presented and the usefulness of CFD is discussed.
