Recently the Elderly with dementia is increasing in Korea with rapid aging of the population. In addition to increasing a number of nuclear family and women's advancement in society, people are less capable of supporting family with dementia. In response, the Seoul city increased welfare facilities for the elderly with dementia about two times for one year. I think that the quantitative portion of facility get to meet the requirements but it is lack of qualitative one in fact. Therefore, the space for the elderly can keep up with the falloff of mental and physical functions, dementia and geriatric diseases according to aging and careful consideration about the space considering stability and convenience is required. At this point, this study has the purpose to plan a daycare center which reflects the characteristics of the elderly to protect them within the community safely and comfortably. As for the research method, case study was conducted to understand the overall situation on the space plan of the daycare center for 3 daycare centers located in Seoul and found out problems. From the generalization of the above study, a space plan for a daycare center considering the characteristics of the elderly was provided. The composition of Dementia welfare facility should be carefully planned to fit characteristics of the patient's behaviors.
According to the rapid increase of the elderly population, especially frail older population, many kinds of elderly care facilities have been supplied within a relatively short period. Among them, elderly hospitals and elderly welfare facilities have occupied a major portion. The elderly hospital, which had emerged from 1994, has recorded sharp increase in facility numbers and bed numbers by the support of Korean government together with the increase of care demand. However, the concept and fundamental planning criteria of elderly hospitals have not yet been set up. This paper has derived the concept of the elderly hospital from the Medical Law and Elderly Welfare Law, and prospected the supply of it from domestic and international statistics. Also this paper has explored the fundamental design issues of elderly hospitals by analysing precedent studies and designs, and by surveying some facilities.
After elderly long term care insurance implementation (July 1, 2008), the elderly medical and welfare facilities covered by medical insurance continuously increases 30 to 63% sanction annually. Rapid growth of senior citizen welfare facilities arises in a poor residential environment issues. In most cases, it is the legal minimum criteria tailored for 4 persons accommodated in nature, such as the hospital. Therefore, 'Hometown-style traditional Korean House' is needed to rest comfortable for elderly people. Research goal is to provide direction and design materials by developing a type of architectural planning for the elderly welfare facilities unit care of the atmosphere of a traditional Korean House. The following two elements are applied to the elderly welfare facilities. Senior citizen welfare facilities in the main living space are applied to modern residential space of the elderly-friendly atmosphere of a traditional Korean House. It is applied for the Korean lifestyle and residential culture are through an analysis of Japan's leading development unit care system.

Data samples were collected from 255 students who finished first grade curriculum in high schools in Chonbuk province and Seoul city. The results were as followed. First, a healthcare plan was very highly recognized by students, and they wanted to live as couples or single in their old age. Second, the respondent students recognized elderly housing as a home for the aged, a silver town and nursing home. 72.1% of the respondents preferred a single detached house as an elderly house form. They preferred an elderly housing district with well provided convenient facilities for daily living. They wanted to live in the country or rest areas for the aged. They preferred an interior space composition with LDK with 2 bedrooms. 52.0% students wanted a neighborhood for their friends to live together. Third, 28.3% of the respondent students thought the appropriate time to move in elderly exclusive housing was 66-70 years old. And when their physical condition worsened or they needed care, they would. want to move into that housing. Also, they wanted the most convenient facility and a medical care facility in elderly exclusive housing. Forth, students' space design needs for elderly were high, more than 4 points. It was especially needed safety in space design, and this grade was 4.56(,53) points. Also the needs of safety and the convenient facilities.equipments were statistically significant by boys and girls.

In the test results, employee's continuance commitment and normative commitment had significant negative effects in job stress. However, affective commitment had no significant impact. Fifth, job stress has a negative(-) effect to service orientation. Test results showed a negative impact. Conclusions - The study implies the following. First, that there should be a change in the social perception of long-term care facilities. 'Long-Term Care Insurance for The Elderly' was enacted to emphasize this responsibility for the elderly problems as a new system. Enactment of this Act was expected to improve the quality of life of the people by stabilizing the elderly life and reducing the burden of families. Therefore, long-term care facility system should be as efficient as possible for making plans for systematic and organizational support. Second, the efforts of facility managers to minimize job stress of employees is necessary. Accordingly, performing spontaneous work is required for a comfortable working environment and management. Third, the systematic education and training to employees for service oriented behavior of the facility will be required in the long term.

Purpose: Religious facilities often intend to contribute to surrounding neighborhood and local community. While motivated by religious aims, churches can play a role in social welfare for elders in local community. It is obvious that the role will be different from official social welfare services from government and this study aims to examine the possibility of churches in the role of elderly social welfare in terms of space and program. Methods: Researchers interviewed management of four existing welfare programs by churces in order to understand operation of social welfare program for elders by churches. The second step was case study of four churches in Suwon City area. The potential for social welfare space use for elders was examined. Results: Researchers found the role of churches in providing welfare relevant programs and services but its function is not well established yet. Financial support is needed and another support is need from welfare experts. Implications: While churches has not well established the role in elderly welfare in local communities, churches can further develop welfare services utilizing space, manpower, and activity programs.
