Efficient 3D Model based Face Representation and Recognition Algorithmusing Pixel-to-Vertex Map (PVM)

  • A 3D model based approach for a face representation and recognition algorithm has been investigated as a robust solution for pose and illumination variation. Since a generative 3D face model consists of a large number of vertices, a 3D model based face recognition system is generally inefficient in computation time and complexity. In this paper, we propose a novel 3D face representation algorithm based on a pixel to vertex map (PVM) to optimize the number of vertices. We explore shape and texture coefficient vectors of the 3D model by fitting it to an input face using inverse compositional image alignment (ICIA) to evaluate face recognition performance. Experimental results show that the proposed face representation and recognition algorithm is efficient in computation time while maintaining reasonable accuracy.

  • The B$\'{e}$k$\'{e}$sy audiometer is used to determine not only hearing threshold but also assumption of recruit phenomenon and cause of disease. However, current B$\'{e}$k$\'{e}$sy audiometer takes an operational model, so called face-to-face model, in which model one audiometrist can assess only one subject at a time. As a result, the face-to-face model leads to high audiometrist's labor cost and long waiting time when there exist many subjects. To improve such weakness, this paper extends PC based B$\'{e}$k$\'{e}$sy audiometer to support client/server model in which model one audiometrist enables to concurrently access several subjects. As providing capabilities such as real-time transfer of assessment result, video monitoring of subject and video chat, the same effect as face-to-face model but overcomes weakness of face-to-face model.

  • Being the FinTech technologies rapidly developed, the non face-to-face private loan market is also growing dramatically. While the real-world interests in this market are keen, the empirical studies on the issue are few compared to its prospective impact on credit loan market. This paper suggests a credit scoring model for the non face-to-face private loan employing the ratings approach (the absolute measurement method) of AHP. Analyzing a sample of data consisting of 460,000 transaction records over an 8-year period in the United States, we develop a scoring model for the non face-to-face private loan screening, and validate the model for the practical usage. Conducting sensitivity analysis, we suggest customized cut-off points for the loan execution to suit each individual loan institution's need.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method of generating 3D face by using single frontal face image and 3D generic face model. By using active appearance model (AAM), the control points among facial feature points were localized in the 2D input face image. Then, the transform parameters of 3D generic face model were found to minimize the error between the 2D control points and the corresponding 2D points projected from 3D facial model. Finally, by using the obtained model parameters, 3D face was generated. We applied this 3D face to 3D game framework and found that the proposed method could make a realistic 3D face of game user.

  • Human face recognition and 3D human face reconstruction has been studied in this paper. To find the facial feature points, find edge from input image and analysis the accumulated histogram of edge information. This paper use a Generic Face Model to display the 3D human face model which was implement with OpenGL and generated with 500 polygons. For reality of 3D human face model, we propose Group matching mapping method between facial feature points and the one of Generic Face Model. The personalized 3D human face model which resembles real human face can be generated automatically in less than 5 seconds on Pentium PC.

  • Purpose It has been stated that patient satisfaction is the crucial factor for determining success in plastic surgery. The convergence of medical science and computer vision has made easier to satisfy patients who wants to have plastic surgery. In this paper, we try to apply 3D face modeling in plastic surgical area. Materials and Methods The author introduces a method for accurate 3D face modeling techniques using a statistical model-based 3D face modeling approach in a mirror system. Results We could successfully obtain highly accurate 3D face shape results. Conclusion The method suggested could be used for acquiring 3D face models from 2D face image and the result obtained from this could be effectively used for plastic surgical areas.

  • 현재, 교육은 대면수업과 온라인의 특징을 활용한 온·오프라인 통합 모델인 블렌디드러닝을 이용하는 교수 설계를 통해 진행되고 있다. 코로나 19 이후 교육의 패러다임이 대면 수업에서 비대면 수업으로 변화되면서 교육 현장에서는 변화에 대응하는 교수 방법이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문은 온라인을 활용한 교수 설계모형으로, 비실시간으로 온라인 수업을 진행한 후, 실시간으로 버추얼 클래스룸을 활용하여 온라인 대면 수업을 진행하는 교수 설계 모형을 제안하였다. 그리고 제안한 버추얼 클래스룸을 활용한 온라인 대면 교수 설계 모형을 소프트웨어교육에 적용할 수 있는 교수 전략을 제시하였다. 제안한 교수 설계 모형은 대면 교육 특징을 온라인에서 수용할 수 있는 교수 설계로 교육의 패러다임 변화에 대비할 수 있을 것이다.

  • The skin color model is a very important concept in face detection, face recognition and face tracking. Usually, this model is obtained by estimating a probability density function of skin color distribution. In many cases, it is assumed that the underlying density function follows a Gaussian distribution. In this paper, a new method for non-parametric estimation of the probability density function, by using feed-forward neural network, is used to estimate the underlying skin color model.   • Facial feature detection is a fundamental function in the field of computer vision such as security, bio-metrics, 3D modeling, and face recognition. There are many algorithms for the function, active shape model is one of the most popular local texture models. This paper addresses issues related to face detection, and implements an efficient extraction algorithm for extracting the facial feature points to use on iOS platform. In this paper, we extend the original ASM algorithm to improve its performance by four modifications. First, to detect a face and to initialize the shape model, we apply a face detection API provided from iOS CoreImage framework. Second, we construct a weighted local structure model for landmarks to utilize the edge points of the face contour. Third, we build a modified model definition and fitting more landmarks than the classical ASM. And last, we extend and build two-dimensional profile model for detecting faces within input images. The proposed algorithm is evaluated on experimental test set containing over 500 face images, and found to successfully extract facial feature points, clearly outperforming the original ASM.

  • This study attempted non-face-to-face collaborative product development practice that can respond to the spread of COVID-19 by expanding existing product data management system-based product development practice. For the complete non-face-to-face product development practice, it utilized prototype development using a 3D paper model, an online class management system and social media for classes and meetings. As a result of applying the non-face-to-face method, product developments of 26 practice teams have been completed without any failures. Therefore, through this study, the author can confirm that it is possible to provide the complete non-face-to-face collaborative product development practice based on product data management systems.
