탄소섬유쉬트로 보강된 각형 CFT기둥의 실험 및 설계식 (The Experiment and Design Formula of Rectangular CFT Columns Reinforced by Carbon Fiber Sheets)

  • 본 연구에서는 FRP 보강된 각형 CFT기둥의 중심축하중 실험과 이력거동실험을 수행하였다. 실험변수는 중심축하중 실험에서는 폭-두께비, FRP보강겹수이며, 이력실험에서는 콘크리트 강도와 FRP 보강겹수이다. 실험체의 내력과 연성능력을 정리하였고, FRP로 보강된 각형 CFT기둥의 압축내력 설계식을 제안한다.

FRP 모듈형 박스 부재의 연결 시스템에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Connection System of FRP Modular Box Member)

  • This is a basic experimental study to apply FRP modular box member to a variety of construction structures exposed to flexural strength, such as a slab and a girder. Applying FRP modular box member to a real structure requires a large section. FRP box member was made into modular systems. Tests were conducted under various conditions in order to analyze jointing performance of the developed FRP modular box member as a large section. For the methods of jointing FRP modular box member, synthetic resins connection, mechanical connection, and a combination of both were used to test both length and breadth connection. As a result of the test, using urethane + two bolts + sheets was the most efficient method of connecting FRP modular box member. It is expected that the proposed joint system in this study will contribute to the increase of failure load and synthesis behavior of FRP modular box member.

Strength model for square concrete columns confined by external CFRP sheets

  • An experimental study has been carried out on square plain concrete (PC) and reinforced concrete (RC) columns strengthened with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets. A total of 78 specimens were loaded to failure in axial compression and investigated in both axial and transverse directions. Slenderness of the columns, number of wrap layers and concrete strength were the test parameters. Compressive stress, axial and hoop strains were recorded to evaluate the stress-strain relationship, ultimate strength and ductility of the specimens. Results clearly demonstrate that composite wrapping can enhance the structural performance of square columns in terms of both maximum strength and ductility. On the basis of the effective lateral confining pressure of composite jacket and the effective FRP strain coefficient, new peak stress equations were proposed to predict the axial strength and corresponding strain of FRP-confined square concrete columns. This model incorporates the effect of the effective circumferential FRP failure strain and the effect of the effective lateral confining pressure. The results show that the predictions of the model agree well with the test data.

  • This paper describes a model on shear strength of RC columns strengthened with FRP sheets. In this study, we propose a confined concrete strength model of RC columns confined by transverse reinforcement as well as FRP sheet by introducing corresponding effective confinement coefficient for each confined concrete area. Then, a shear strength model of the confined RC columns is proposed by lower and upper bound limit analysis which are based on the truss-arch model theory and shear band failure theory, respectively. Along with shear test data obtained from strengthened column specimens, the developed analytical models are verified. The comparison shows that the proposed model can be used effectively for the prediction of both ultimate strength and required amount of strengthening in retrofit design for RC columns.

  • For strengthening deteriorated concrete structures, externally bonded FRP sheets or plates using epoxy resins are widely used. For the external FRP composites to be effective in improving the performance of the structure, bond between FRP composites and concrete is required. In general, the most frequently observed failure mode in FRP strengthened concrete structures is debonding failure at the interfacial section between FRP and concrete. Therefore, it is very important to find out the interfacial behavior properties. This paper presents experimental results of the relationship of concrete and FRP sheet for some conditions including concrete compressive strength, concrete surface preparation to observe the bond behavior between concrete and FRP sheet and various anchorage types to increase the bond capacity of FRP sheet.

  • 본 연구는 다양한 건설 구조물 중 휨 응력을 받는 부재인 슬래브, 거더 등에 FRP 박스 부재를 적용하기 위한 기초 실험적 연구이다. FRP 부재를 제작하여 FRP 박스 부재의 대형단면으로서의 연결성능 특징을 분석하기 위하여 다양한 조건으로 실험을 수행하였다. FRP 박스 부재의 연결방법에는 화학적 연결, 기계적 연결, 혼합적 연결방법을 이용하여 가로방향과 세로방향에 대해 각각 연결실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과 우레탄+볼트 2개+쉬트를 이용한 방법이 FRP 박스 부재의 가장 이상적인 연결방법이었으며, 유한요소해석을 실시하여 거동을 검토하였다.

친수성 에폭시를 사용하여 FRP 시트로 보강된 슬래브의 휨거동 평가 (Flexural Performance of Slabs Strengthened by Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Sheet with Hydrophilic Epoxy)

  • 이 연구에서는 철근콘크리트 구조물 보강의 결합재로서 기존의 에폭시 재료가 가지는 한계를 극복하기 위하여 개발된 실라놀기를 이용한 친수성 화학 그라우트재(hydrophilic chemical grout using silanol, HCGS)를 소개하고 FRP 시트 보강공법을 적용한 슬래브 부재의 휨 실험을 수행하였다. 보강공법이 적용되지 않은 기준실험체, 슬래브와 FRP 시트를 기존의 에폭시로 부착한 실험체, 그리고 HCGS를 적용하여 시트를 부착한 실험체를 각 1개씩 총 3개의 슬래브에 대한 실험연구를 수행하였다. 또한, FRP 시트로 휨 보강된 슬래브 부재의 해석에 적합하도록 계면 수평전단력을 고려할 수 있는 휨 거동 해석모델을 개발하였다. 해석모델로 실험체들의 거동을 평가한 결과, 보강 실험체들은 휨 파괴 시점 전까지 완전합성에 매우 근접한 거동을 나타내는 것으로 평가되었으며, 특히, HCGS를 적용한 보강 실험체는 기존 에폭시의 한계를 극복하는 특성을 가지면서도 에폭시를 적용한 실험체와 유사한 휨 보강 성능을 나타내었다.

  • For the Externally bonded FRP systems, flexural design method is studied focusing on the reinforcement layer of the carbon fiber sheets. As the FRP layer is added, strengthening rate increases, but not proportionally as the FRP layer increases. This is reflected in the design formula appropriately by the bond cofficients from the added layers. As the number of FRP layer increases, the stress reinforcement and FRP sheet decreases, and it generally corresponds to the decrease rate of member flexural strength. This phenomenon is appearing indentically in a design formula and experimental result. The rate of $M_{test}$ and $M_n$ is 1.19 and it is estimated as safety factor which is the reduction factor, ${\psi}_f = 0.85$.

  • In this study, six specimens were prepared for two type FRP sheets(carbon and polyacetal) to evaluate the behavior of FRP-concrete interfacial bond. A direct tensile test was conducted and the test results show that fiber type influences both bond strength and the shape of strain distribution. The failure mode for carbon type specimens seems to bond failure between concrete and FRP, but for polyacetal type indicates interface failure between FRP and expoxy. The local bond stress-slip relations were obtained from test results, and it was shown good shape for the polyacetal type. But for the carbon type it was scattered.

  • FRP는 상대적으로 높은 인성으로 인해 충격하중이나 폭발하중과 같은 극한 하중으로 문제가 발생하는 구조물에 적용할 수 있다. 충격 저항성능을 향상시키고자 FRP sheet를 사용하여 인장부를 보강한 콘크리트 부재의 유한요소 해석을 수행하였다.
