중질 탄산칼슘의 입자크기 및 첨가량 변화에 따라 제조된 시트몰딩 컴파운드(SMC)의 기계적 특징 (Mechanical properties of sheet molding compounds (SMC) with different size and contents of ground calcium carbonate)

  • 섬유강화플라스틱(glass fiber reinforced plastics)은 수지에 섬유상의 보강재를 복합화하여 고강도 특성을 나타내게한 대표적인 플라스틱 복합소재이다. 섬유강화플라스틱 성형제품의 기계적 물성을 결정하는 요소는 강화재로 사용되는 섬유상 소재이므로 섬유소재에 대한 연구는 관심이 높은 대상이나, 기지재를 구성하는 수지의 물성에 영향을 미치는 충진재의 영향에 관한 연구는 많지 않은 편이다. 그러나, 플라스틱 또는 수지 조성물의 물성은 미네랄 충진재에 의하여 결정되며, 기지재가 복합소재에 미치는 영향이 높은 만큼 본 연구에서는 $3-6{\mu}m$ 크기의 중질 탄산칼슘을 사용하여 충진재의 크기와 첨가량이 섬유강화복합체에 미치는 영향을 확인하고자 하였다. 시편은 시트몰딩 컴파운드(SMC, Sheet molding compound) 방법에 의하여 제조되었으며, 기계적 특성은 굴곡강도와 인장강도 결과를 비교 분석 하였다. 그 결과 탄산칼슘의 크기 또는 첨가량이 성형시편의 기계적 강도에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었으며, 그 중에서도 가장 낮은 평균 입경 ($2.8{\mu}m$) 조건에서 가장 높은 기계적 특성을 나타냈다.

선형터빈 케스케이드 통로내의 2차 유동과 손실에 관한 연구 (The Experimental Investigation of the Secondary Flow and Losses Within the Plane Turbine Cascade Passage)

  • This paper represents the results of the experiments of the three-dimensional flow and the aerodynamic loss caused by the three-dimensional flow within the plane bucket blades. To research the secondary flow and the aerodynamic loss, the large-scale plane bucket blade of lst-stage in the low pressure steam turbine is made of FRP. The detailed investigation of the secondary flow and the aerodynamic loss using 5-hole pressure probe within turbine cascade has been carried out in the low speed wind tunnel. The limiting streamlines of the suction and endwall surface have been visualized by the oil film method. The flow visualization of the secondary flow has been performed by the laser light sheet technique and image processing system. By using the method mentioned above, it is possible to observe the evolution of the pitchwise mass-averaged flow deviation angle and total pressure loss coefficient, the secondary flow, and the aerodynamic loss through the cascade.

섬유시트 보강 구조체의 거동에 관한 해석적 연구 (Analytical Study of Behavior on Structure Reinforced Fiber Sheet)

  • The effective reinforcement methods of structure is required to improve the durability of existing structures. Recently, the continuous fiber sheets to the concrete structures are widely used in the earthquake-proof reinforcement method. This study examines suitability and effect to concrete structure of fiber by FEM analysis. The result of analysis is as follows; All specimens occurred bending tensile failure at the middle span. Ultimate strength of specimen in the RC and reinforced RC specimen were 53.9 kN, 56.3 kN respectively and it was some low by degree 0.89, 0.82 to compare with calculated result. The deflection of specimen at the middle span occurred in approximately 0.2 mm, and did linear behavior in load 20 kN by seat reinforcement. Stiffness did not decrease by occurrence in the finer crack and reinforcement beam's flexure stiffness was increased until reach in failure. To compare calculated value and analysis value, it almost equal behavior in the elastic reign and can confirm effectiveness of analysis. Crack was distributed uniformly by reinforcement of fiber seat at failure and it do not occurred stiffness decreases.

Axial loading tests and load capacity prediction of slender SHS stub columns strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymers

  • This paper presents the experimental results of axially loaded stub columns of slender steel hollow square section (SHS) strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) sheets. 9 specimens were fabricated and the main parameters were: width-thickness ratio (b/t), the number of CFRP ply, and the CFRP sheet orientation. From the tests, it was observed that two sides would typically buckle outward and the other two sides would buckle inward. A maximum increase of 33% was achieved in axial-load capacity when 3 layers of CFRP were used to wrap HSS columns of b/t = 100 transversely. Also, stiffness and ductility index (DI) were compared between un-retrofitted specimens and retrofitted specimens. Finally, it was shown that the application of CFRP to slender sections delays local buckling and subsequently results in significant increases in elastic buckling stress. In the last section, a prediction formula of the ultimate strength developed using the experimental results is presented.

  • 사용한 보수.보강재, Rod, Fabric, Strand 형상을 콘크리트 구조물등에 보강재로 사용되어왔다. 이 재료는 해양환경하에서 내식성과 내구성을 갖는 철근및 철골대체용 복합소재와 초고층 경량 연속섬유보강 시멘트 복합재료는 탄소섬유, 아라미드섬유, 유리섬유등의 쉬트(sheet)형상을 신건재, 비자성, 비전도성, 전파차폐용 재료등에 사용할수있다. 그러나 FRP Rod를 내식성이 요구되는 철근 및 철골대체재로 사용할 경우에는 폴리머 매트릭스의 열화, 섬유와 폴리머간 계면 접착강도의 한계, 화재시 내화성, 보강재의 인발성등의 단점들을 갖고있다[1].   • The effectiveness of shear strengthening with glass fiber sheets on normal or low strength RC beams have been investigated experimentally. A design compressive strength of concrete of 13.5MPa has been planned considering the degradation state of the existing structure to be strengthened in this study. Also, concrete surface reinforcing agent was applied to increase bond capacity between concrete and GFRP sheets in case of low strength RC beams. Comparing the test results of low and normal strength beams strengthened with GFRP sheets indicated that total shear capacity of beams was decreased with concrete strength decreased, but the shear strengthening capacity of GFRP sheets are hardly affected by concrete strength. In addition, shear strengthening effects of RC beams strengthened with GFRP sheets can be estimated by $\rho_w{\cdot}f_w$ based on the maximum effective strain of FRP sheet proposed by ACI 440.2R recommendation.

  • The high temperature super-conductor transformer gains interests from the industries. This paper described construction and test results of a 10kVA HTS transformer. Three phase transformer with double pancake windings were constructed. BSCCO-2223 wire, silicon sheet steel core and FRP cryostats were used in that transformer After the test of basic properties of the 3 phase HTS transformer using no load test, short ciucuit test and full load test, continuous operation of 100 hours with pure resistive load has been carried out. Test proved over-load capability and reliability of the HTS transformer.

  • 1992년 내진규정 도입이전에 설계시공된 공용중의 철근콘크리트 교각은 대체로 소성힌지구간에 겹침이음 시공되었다. 본연구는 형상비 2.5의 철근콘크리트 교각실험체의 내진 연성도 평가를 위한 실험적 연구이다. 실험에 사용된 6기의 실험체는 횡방향 구속력, 주철근의 겹침이음 그리고 섬유보강을 변수로 가지고 있다. 이 실험체는 한국도로공사가 개발한 인공지진동을 사용하여 유사동적실험을 수행하여 지진이력을 주었으며, 유사동적실험 후에는 일정한 축력, P=0.1 $f_{ck}$ $A_{g}$을 유지하면서 변위제어방식으로 유사정적실험을 실시하여 잔류내진성능을 평가하였다. 실험 결과 소성힌지구간에 겹침이음 된 RC 교각이 낮은 연성에서 파괴에 도달하였다. 이는 주철근 겹침이음이 주철근의 충분한 연성발달을 저하시킨 결과라 할 수 있다. 또한, 섬유보강된 실험체는 ?강성과 변위연성도의 현저한 개선능력을 보였다..

알루미늄 선박의 외판 가공을 위한 인장성형 시스템 연구 (Multi Point Press Stretch Forming System Applied to Curved Hull Plate of Aluminum Ship)

  • Recently, aluminum ships are constructed more than ever because of the environmental pollution generated by FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) ships. In particular, FRP ships have been replaced by the Aluminum ships. The forming process of the curved aluminum plate has been performed only by labor works without systematic technique. Therefore, it is difficult to construct the aluminum ship that the design satisfies both required propulsion performance and hull design. Present study introduces a MPSF (Multi Point Stretching Forming) that is a flexible manufacturing technique to form large sheet panels of doubly curvature. The hull pieces are stretch-formed over the MPSD (multi-point stretching die) generated by the punch element matrix. In this study, MPSF is applied to deform the doubly curved surfaces of aluminum ship. The forming system including FEA (finite element analysis) of the processes for stretching the plate were carried out by static implicit analysis is suggested. Residual deformation of the surface is modeled by an elasto-plastic contact phenomena while the forming process is simulated by FEA. Finally, the proposed system is also validated, comparing the deformed shape by MPSF with that of object surfaces.

Bond Strength of Carbon Fiber Sheet on Concrete Substrate Processed by Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding

  • High quality and expedient processing repair methods are necessary to enhance the service life of bridge structures. Deterioration of concrete can occur as a result of structural cracks, corrosion of reinforcement, and freeze.thaw cycles. Cost effective methods with potential for field implementation are necessary to address the issue of the vulnerability of bridge structures and how to repair them. Most infrastructure related applications of fiber-reinforced plastics (FRPs) use traditional hand lay-up technology. The hand lay-up is tedious, labor-intensive and relies upon personnel skill level. An alternative to traditional hand lay-up of FRP for infrastructure applications is Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding (VARTM). VARTM uses single sided molding technology to infuse resin over fabrics wrapping large structures, such as bridge girders and columns. There is no work currently available in understanding the interface developed, when VARTM processing is adopted to wrap fibers such as carbon and/or glass over concrete structures. This paper investigates the interface formed by carbon fiber processed on to a concrete surface using the VARTM technique. Various surface treatments, including sandblasting, were performed to study the pull-off tensile test to find a potential prepared surface. A single-lap shear test was used to study the bond strength of CFRP fabric/epoxy composite adhered to concrete. Carbon fiber wraps incorporating Sikadur HEX 103C and low viscosity epoxy resin Sikadur 300 were considered in VARTM processing of concrete specimens.
