  • In this study, we propose a shared storage system which is more efficient policy than MIS(Mixed Intermediate Storage) policy for relatively rare storage system and can be called CIS(Common Intermediate Storage) policy. Using this strategy, we develop a new completion time algorithm and apply it to two kinds of optimal or near optimal scheduling method; combinatorial search and simulated annealing method. We also extend this strategy to other storage policy, for example MIS policy, with PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) logic and on/off action of electronic valves. It thus can be accepted as a basic form of FMS(Flexible Manufacturing System) for operating various storage policies. Finally we suggest the interlocking block to compansate for the shortcoming of CIS policy, i.e, complication of operation and safety, resulting in a basic batch process automation mode.

  • 역사적으로 CNC기술이 생산성향상에 기여한바는 매우 크다. 최근에는 고도의 생산성을 추구하는 CNC공작기계는 수요자들의 요구에 부응하여 관련업계는 CNC 기술의 발전을 더욱 가속화 시키고 있다. 오늘날의 CNC는 더욱 향상된 Computer Architecture에 적합한 Software System과 고속, 고집적의 소자기술을 결합한 것이라 볼 수 있으며, 그 결과는 생산을 자동화 하고 전체를 하나의 system화 하려는 요구에 부응하고 유연(Flexible)하며, 사용하기에 편리하고(User-friend- ly), 신뢰성과 높은 생산성을 갖추고 있다. 새로운 CNC 기술이 요구되는 응용분야는 고도로 자동 화 되고 결합 된 FMS에서 부터 단축제어용에 이르기까지 매우 광범위하다. 3축의 Milling, 6축 Machining Center, 전용기 등 Stand-alone 기계들을 위주로한 중소형기계 공장에 적합한 CNC 기술이 개발되고 있는 동시에 CELL LEVEL, 좀더 큰 규모의 FMS 또는 그 이상으로 자동화된 system을 구성하 기 위하여 많은 새로운 기능이 요구되고 종래의 CNC와는 다른 역할의 변화가 필요하다. 실제로는 많은 경우에 이러한 두가지의 응용이 공존하고 있으며, CNC의 기능이나 성능을 희생하지 않고 동일한 Hardware로 여러가지의 응용을 만족시켜야 한다. 생산공정과 생산기술의 변화가 반영되어야 하며, Control 기술도 변화하고 있다. 유연하고 확장가능한 Software, Hardware 구조의 CNC가 실제적으로 가장 Cost-effective한 해결책이다.

공작기계용 원격 고장진단 및 보수 시스템 (Remote Fault Diagnosis and Maintenance System for NC Machine Tools)

  • Remote fault diagnosis and maintenance system using general telecommunication network is necessary for an effective fault diagnosis and higher productivity of NC machine tools. In order to monitor machine tool condition and diagnose alarm states due to electrical and mechanical faults, a remote data communication system for monitoring of NC machine fault diagnosis and status is developed. The developed system consists of (1) remote communication module among NC's and host PC using PSTN. (2) 8 channels analog data sensing module, (3) digital I/O module for control or NC machine, (4) communication module between NC machine and remote data communication system via RS-232C, and (5) software man-machine interface. Diagnostic monitoring results generated through a successive type inference engine are displayed in user-friendly graphics. The validity and reliability of the developed system is verified to be a powerful commercial version on a vertical machining center through a series of experiments.

관성항법장치가 포함된 비행체의 HWIL 시뮬레이션 시스템 개발 연구 (A Study on the HWIL Simulation System of the Flight Object including Inertial Navigation System)

  • This paper proposes various methods for constructing a HWIL simulation system including Inertial Navigation System(INS) and Guidance Control Unit(GCU) under the assumption that the INS identifies the initial attitude of an aviation body through its own alignment and that it is a package consisting of an inertial sensor and a navigation computation module. This paper also presents a real-time computing technology and a way to calculate the command of the Flight Motion System(FMS) analogous to the acutal flight environment. The proposed HWIL simulation system is constructed by applying the above-mentioned methods and the results of running a series of simulations confirm high effectiveness and usefulness of the system. Finally, minor error factors that could be acquired only in HWIL simulation Environment are analyzed.

  • In recent years, a number of successful nesting approaches have been developed by using the various heuristic algorithms, and due to their application potential several commercial CAD/CAM packages include a nesting module for solving the layout problem. Since a large portion of the complexity of the part nesting problem results from the overlapping computation, the geometric representation is one of the most important factors to reduce the complexity of the problem. The proposed part representation method can easily handle parts and raw materials with widely varying geometrical shape by using the redesigning modules. This considerably reduces the amount of processed data and consequently the run time of the computer. The aim of this research is to develop parametric macro for two-dimensional cutting stock on the Auto-CAD system. Therefore, this research can be called "pre-nesting"

  • This paper presents experimental results for peformance management of a Profibus-FMS network. The performance management alms to maintain a uniform level of network performance at all stations under changing network traffic. The performance management algorithm monitors the performance of individual network stations and commands the stations to change their timer values in order to have comparable performance at all stations. In order to determine the amount of timer change, the algorithm employs a set of fuzzy rules. This algorithm has been evaluated on a Profibus network

  • Increased complexity of products and their manufacturing processing demans higher quality control and monitoring than ever before. Therefore, flexible automatization or flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) offer numerous advantages over alternative manufacturing methods. In this state, a in-process monitoring is one of the important flexible automatino system. And as use of NC and CNC machine tool has been increasing, cutting work has automating and it is necessary to develop the automatic production system combined a couple of machine tool. Thus, in this paper to search examination it can measure the tool wear and the tool life and can be more practical research subject.

  • Many mid-sized companies in Korean automotive industry have attempted to solve the lack of human power, to control the quality of components, to improve the production rate, and to innovate the manufacturing line. The goals of this study are to analyze the production rate of an automotive component manufacturing line using simulation software, to construct a Flexible Automation Subassembly (FAS) system and to suggest an optimized layout design using FAS line. In this research, the simulation model for manufacturing line was developed and used the realistic data (production planning, component type, working order, process time, queue time, line rules, etc) of a medium sized company in Korean automotive industry. To complete this research, a simulation software 'ARENA' was used.

  • This study deals with an autonomous generation of simulation codes for the design of processes of c CIM system based on the concept of model transformation. We assume we have a functional model of an organization which is developed using the well-known IDEF0 methodology. Then, a modeling methodology, called PROWD(PRocess flOW Description), is suggested to develop the flow processes of the organization. To Derive simulation specifications for the transformed PROWD model, we define a module of a "unit system" for each activity of PROWD model. Then specifications for system entities and resources are derived from input/control/mechanism/output and entity flows of PROWD model. Entitiy queues are defined from the sates and events of unit systems. Finally, SIMAN model frame is generated from those specifications through a suggested algorithm. The implementability and validity of the proposed approach is tested by developing a prototype of a computer-assisted design system on the operation processes of FMS installed at SNU-ASRI (Seoul National University-Automation and Systems Research Institute).nstitute).

  • 짧아진 제품의 주기, 고객의 다양한 제품선호 경향등에 대응하기 위해서, 제조업체들은 다품종 소량체제에 맞게 유연한 생산시스템을 갖추어야한다. 생산성과 유연성을 동시에 추구하고자하는 유연생산 시스템(Foexible Manufacturing System: FMA)의 도입에는 막대한 투자가 따르기 때문에 시스템의 가동률을 극대화하고 유휴시간( Nonproductive Time)을 최소화해야 단 기간내에 투자비를 상환할 수 있으므로, 생산시스템을 경제적 및 효율적으로 운용하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 한편 이산계 시뮬레이션(Discrete Event Simulation)기법은 시스템의 정적 및 동적인 거동 특성을 모델링하여 모의적 실험을 통해 시스템의 성능이나 특성을 예측할 수 있도록 개발된 유용한 해석 도구로서, 생산 시스템 설계 및 평가등의 분야에 이 기법을 적용한 연구가 매우 활발하게 이루어져 왔으며, 최근 FMS운용을 위한 생산계획, 일정계획등의 문제 해결에도 매우 중요한 해석도구로 인식되고 있다.
