This study investigated the effect of functional MA films (FMA) incorporated with zeolite powder treated with 1 N HCL solution and anti-fogging agent on the freshness extension of Satsuma mandarin. Preference, weight loss, total ascorbic acid, sugar content, titratable acidity and gas composition in package of Satsuma mandarin were evaluated during storage at $15^{\circ}C$. After 120 days of storage, the weight loss of mandarin packed with LLDPE film (control, L) was 1%, FMA film (CA) was 1.6%. Total ascorbic acid content of Satsuma manderin in control was 19.97 mg%, those of CA was 24.25 mg%. The titratable acidity of Satsuma manderin in CA was higher than that of control, while soluble solids content of CA was lower than that of control after 120 days. Ethylene gas content of control was 89.5 ppm and those of CA was 73.6 ppm after 120 days. Quality of Satsuma mandarin packed with CA was better than that of control. It was verified that shelf-life of Satsuma mandarin in control was 100 days and those of CA film was 130 days. Quality of Satsuma mandarin was few different between treated with anti-fogging agent and non-treated, but commodity of film treated with anti-fogging agent was considered better than that of non-treated.

Background: Multifaceted approaches will be needed, such as global synkinesis (GS) achieve functional improvements in the arms of stroke patients from involuntary movements during exercise. Objective: To identify changes in arm GS and muscle activity, functional evaluation and the correlation with variables through action observation training, combined with functional electrical stimulation (FES), thereby verifying the effect on stroke patients. Design: A quasi-experimental study. Methods: The subjects of this study were 20 stroke patients who were divided into two groups: Control group (n=10) and experimental group (n=10). Before the intervention, arm GS and muscle activity were measured using surface electromyography (EMG), and arm function was evaluated using the Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) scale. At the end of the intervention, which lasted 4-wk, arm GS and muscle activity were measured again using the same scale. Results: There was a decrease statistically significant difference in GS during the bending action in experimental group (P<.01). Both groups showed a significant difference increased only in the activity of the anterior deltoid (AD) and biceps brachii (BB) (P<.05). The results of the arm functional assessment revealed a significant difference increase in both groups (P<.05). In the between-group comparison, there was a significant difference decrease in GS during the bending action (P<.05). Only the muscle activity of the AD and BB were significantly increase different (P<.05). There was a significant between-group difference increase in the arm functional assessment (P<.05). There was a positive correlation between GS and muscle activity on the FMA in the control group (r=.678, P<.05). In experimental group, GS during the bending arm action exhibited a negative correlation (r=-.749, P<.05), and the muscle activity of the AD and BB showed a positive correlation (r=.701, P<.05). Furthermore, in experimental group, the activity of the extensor carpi radialis increased, and the activity of the flexor carpi radialis decreased, which exhibited a negative correlation (r=-.708, P<.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that brain plasticity could be more efficiently stimulated by combining surface stimulation in the affected arm of stroke patients.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the recovery of sensation and the restoration of upper limb function according to transcranial direct current stimulation over the primary somatosensory cortex in patients with chronic stroke with sensory deficit. 20 patients with chronic stroke divided into 10 experimental groups and 10 control groups. Patients received transcranial direct current stimulations over the primary somatosensory cortex on the side of the stroke lesion, and The control group applied sham tDCS to the same location. Intervention was conducted 5 times a week, 20 minutes per session for a total of 2 weeks. Assessment was performed using the Erasmus MC modifications to the Nottingham Sensory Assessment(EmNSA), Semmes-Weinstein monofilament examination(SWME) for somatosensory, and Fugle-Meyer Assessment(FMA), Motor Activity Log(MAL), and accelerometer for upper extremity function. Assessment was conducted before and after the intervention. As a result of the study, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in the overall tactile sense, proprioception, cortical sense, and perception sensitivity than the control group, and showed a statistically significant difference in the usage amount of the upper limb. Based on the results of this study, it is thought that the possibility of effective clinical application of transcranial direct current stimulation for recovery of somatosensory and upper extremity function is thought to be increased.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of virtual reality training focus on ADL on upper extremity function and activities of daily living in stroke patients. 20 patients with chronic stroke were included in this study. The participants were divided into the experimental (n=10) or control (n=10) groups. Both groups received conventional rehabilitation therapy for 30 min a day, 5 times per week for 4 weeks. The experimental group also performed virtual reality training focus on ADL for 30 min a day, and the control group performed general virtual reality training for 30 min a day. The Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scores were evaluated before and after the intervention, and both groups showed significant improvement (p<.05). Compared to the control group, the experimental group showed significant improvement in the FMA wrist score and the FIM total, self-care, and sphincter control scores (p<.05). These findings suggest that virtual reality training focus on ADL may have a positive effect on wrist function and overall ADLs compared to that using general virtual reality training in stroke patients.

Purpose : This study aimed to investigate the test-retest reliability, minimal detectable change (MDC), and the effect of turning direction on the time and number of steps taken during the 180 ° turn test in subacute stroke patients. Additionally, it examined the concurrent validity of the 180 ° turn test. Methods : The study included 28 subacute stroke patients. The test-retest reliability of the 180 ° turn test according to the direction of rotation (paretic and non-paretic sides) by comparing the consistency between the initial assessment and a reassessment conducted 7 days later. Concurrent validity was examined by assessing the correlation of the 180 ° turn test with the Fugl-Meyer assessment of lower extremity (FMA-L/E), Berg balance scale (BBS), 10-meter walk test (10 mWT), and timed up and go test (TUG). Results : The ICC for the time taken to turn 180 ° to the affected and unaffected sides were 0.971 and 0.918, respectively, indicating excellent reliability. The ICC for the number of steps were 0.944 and 0.932, respectively. The MDC for the time taken were 0.33 seconds (affected side) and 0.67 seconds (unaffected side). The MDC for the number of steps were 0.49 (affected side) and 0.63 (unaffected side). The paired t-test showed the limited community ambulator group took significantly longer to turn to the unaffected side (p<.048). Significant correlations were found between the 180 ° turn test and FMA-L/E (r= -0.395 to -0.416), BBS (r= -0.622 to -0.684), 10 mWT (r= 0.720 to 0.730), and TUG (r= 0.684 to 0.790) (p<.05 to .01). Conclusion : The 180 ° turn test demonstrated excellent test-retest reliability and high validity when correlated with other functional measures in subacute stroke patients. MDC values indicated high reliability. Faster walking speeds (≥0.95 m/s) were unaffected by turning direction, while slower speeds (<0.58 m/s) showed significant effects. The 180 ° turn test is a simple, sensitive, and reliable tool for evaluating turning ability in subacute stroke patients.

PURPOSE: The objective of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of mental practice on function and muscle activation of upper extremity (UE) in stroke patients. METHODS: The mental practice was conducted on 12 subjects for 10 minutes and the related existing work treatment for 20 minutes. The evaluation for the function of UE proceeded with Fugl-Meyer assessment of motor function (FMA) and muscle activity analysis instrument. Furthermore we analyzed patients' reaching activity by two stages, reaching phase and returning to original position phase. RESULTS: According to the research results, the subjects' upper limb function improved in all of the measured items and the total scores after the mental practice (p<.05). In muscle activity, CCR value was used to efficiently analyze the patients' reaching activity in the two stages of reaching stage and returning to the original position phase. While the elbow movement only had a bit of positive change (1.1%) in the reaching stage, both the shoulder (-12.3%) and elbow (-18.2%) movements had a positive change in the returning to original position phase. CONCLUSION: This research confirmed that the mental practice is effective for the enhancement of UE function for stroke patients. The result of this research can contribute to the progress of mental practice in clinical environment.
Chronic upper extremity hemiparesis is a leading cause of functional disability after stroke. The purpose of this study were to identify effects of a 6weeks repetitive bilateral arm training on upper motor function and the reorganization of motor network. Four chronic stroke patients participated in this study. They performed for 6 consecutive weeks, 3 days a week, 30 minutes a day. In the single group study, four 5-minute periods per session of bilateral arm training were performed with the use of a custom-designed arm training machine. The results of this study was as follows. 1. Following the 6weeks period of RBAT, patient exhibited a improvement in FMA and BBT. 2. Following the 6weeks period of RBAT, it showed improvement in reaching time, symbol digit substitution and finger tapping speed of KCNT. 3. fMRI activation after RBAT showed a focal map in lesional cortical area and perilesional motor areas. These fMRI data suggest that hemodynamics response to RBAT reflect sensorimotor reorganization in contralateral hemisphere. In conclusion, these date suggest that improved upper extremity function induced by repetitive bilateral arm training after stroke is associated with reorganization of motor network as a neural basis for the improvement of paratic upper extremity function.
The sliding stability of monolithic vertical caisson of composite breakwaters is quantitatively analyzed by using a reliability model, FMA of Level II, in order to study the variation of sliding failure of caisson due to the occurrence of extreme waves exceeded deepwater design wave. The reliability index and several parameters in the wave pressure formula are inter- related to find out the effects of extreme wave exceeded design wave on the sliding failure of vertical monolithic caisson. The sliding failure of caisson seems to be largely increased as the heights and periods of extreme waves exceeded design wave increase, also depends directly on the water depth in front of the composite breakwaters. From the numerical simulations carried out with several kinds of extreme waves exceeded design wave which are assumed to be occurred during the service periods of breakwater, it is found that the effects of the wave height on the sliding failure of caisson may be more dominant than those of wave periods and angles of wave incidence.

The Gwangyang gold deposits geologically consist of granitic gneiss, metatectic gneiss and porphyroblastic gneiss which correspond to Jirisan gneiss complex. The formations of Gyeongsang system lies unconformably on these gneisses and are intruded by diorite, porphyritic andesite and Bulgugsa granites. Goheung districts are composed of quartz schist, andesitic rock, tuff and granite. The Gwangyang gold deposits are gold bearing fissure filling veins. The vein thickness varies from 15cm to 40cm and they consist of 7-10 layers in parallel. The Goheung copper deposits are sulphide bearing quartz veln which filled the fracture in andesitic rock and biotite granite. The contact zone of these rocks is partially altered. The mineral paragenesis of the Gwangyang and Goheung districts is pyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, sericite, quartz and calcite. The variation trends of FMA and A'KF triangular diagrams and the differentiation index (norm, Q + Or + Ab) versus oxides diagrams is similar to the Gyeonsang basin igneous rocks. From the trace element analysis of 10 samples of country rocks, wall rocks and veins, the distribution of copper and lead contents display a correlative distribution pattern in relation to gold and silver. Homogenization temperature of fluid inclusions range from $200^{\circ}C$ to $270^{\circ}C$ in quartz from the Gwangyang gold vein and the size of fluid inclusion range from 0.01mm to 0.04mm. The fluid inclusions are mainly one or two phase and the filling degree of the inclusions varies from 85 to 95.
