In this paper, an innovative technique for finite element (FE) modeling of steel tube-confined concrete (STCC) columns with active confinement under axial compressive loading is presented. In this method, a new constitutive model for the stress-strain relationship of actively-confined concrete is proposed. In total, 14 series of experimental STCC stub columns having active confinement were modeled using the ABAQUS software. The results obtained from the 3D model including the compressive strength at the initial peak point and failure point, as well as the axial and lateral stress-strain curves were compared with the experimental results to verify the accuracy of the 3D model. It was found that there existed a good agreement between them. A parametric study was conducted to investigate the effect of the concrete compressive strength, steel tube wall thickness, and pre-stressing level on the behavior of STCC columns with active confinement. The results indicated that increasing the concrete core's compressive strength leads to an increase in the compressive strength of the active composite column as well as its earlier failure. Furthermore, a reduction in the tube external diameter-to-wall thickness ratio affects the axial stress-strain curve and the confining pressure, while increasing the pre-stressing level has a negligible effect on the two.

Recently, multi cell tube which is used for a cooling system of automobiles is mainly manufactured by the conform extrusion but this method is inferior as compared with direct extrusion in productivity per the unit time and in the equipment investment. Therefore, it is essential for the conversion of direct extrusion with porthole die. The direct extrusion with porthole die can produce multi cell tube which has the competitive power in costs and qualities compared with the existing conform extrusion. This study is designed to evaluate metal flow, welding pressure, extrusion load, tendency of mandrel deflection that is affected by variation of porthole shape in porthole die. Estimation is carried out using finite element method under the non-steady state. Also this study was examined into the cause of mandrel fracture through investigating elastic deformation of mandrel during the extrusion.
This paper measures the mechanical response of precast pavement joints under moving axle loads using the finite-element method, and the models were validated with results of field tests. In order to increase the ability to use the non-linear FE analysis for design and assessment of precast pavement subjected to moving axle load, this paper investigated the effects of different load transfer between the slabs using the ABAQUS finite-element package to solve the nonlinear explicit model equations. The assembly of the panels using dowels and groove-tongue keys has been studied to assess the efficiency of keyway joint system. Concrete damage plasticity model was used to calculate the effects of permanent damages related to the failure mechanisms. With aggregate interlock as the only load transferring system, Load transfer efficiency (LTE) is not acceptable when the axle load reaches to slab joints. The Finite-element modelling (FEM) results showed that keyway joints significantly reduced tensile stresses developed at the mid-slab. Increasing the thickness of the tongue the LTE was improved but with increasing the height of the tongue the LTE was decreased. Stresses are transferred to the adjacent slab efficiently when dowels are embedded within the model. When the axle load approaches joints, tensile damage occurs sooner than compressive damage, but the damage rate remains constant, then compressive damage increases significantly and become the major form of distress under the dowels.
Ink-jet printing techniques with ceramic ink, which contains ceramic pigments as colorant, are in increasingly use in the ceramic industry. Generally, ceramic pigments that are produced by conventional method show diameters of several micrometers; these micrometer sized particles in the ink-jet printing process can cause undesirable behavior such as print head nozzle clogging. To prevent this problem, a particle size reduction process is required. In this study, CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) pigments were synthesized via solid state method. Each pigment particle was milled to submicron size by an attrition mill. The effects of micronizing on the morphology, mechanical property, crystal structure and color property of the CMYK ceramic pigments were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), particle size analysis (PSA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and CIE $L^{\ast}a^{\ast}b^{\ast}$.
The purpose of this study was to develop the standardized recipe and to analyze the nutrients of stir-fried whip-arm octopus as one of the kind of traditional local foods in Busan. The standardized recipe was developed by using cookbooks, home recipes, and the recipes by commercial food restaurants. The nutrient was analyzed by using an AOAC method. Sensory evaluations were made on nine sensory attributes by a 12-member panel. As the results, the whip-arm octopus was recorded as a food source for health, rejuvenation in Jasanobo. Since early 1900, the stir-fried method has been used for cooking with the ship-arm octopus. The main ingredients were whip-arm octopus, onion, large green onion as the local stir-fried whip-arm octopus in Busan. The ingredients of soup were shrimp, little neck clam, and water. Seasoning sauce was mixed with red pepper powder, soy sauce, sesame oil, chopped garlic, chopped onion, and sugar. The seasoning sauce was fermented for three days. The results of sensory scores were salty seasoning 3.66/5.00, taste 3.75/5.00, thickness 3.84/5.00, and smell 4.09. Nutrient retention per 100g of the stir-fried whip-arm octopus was 67.54kcal, protein 6.43g, fat 1.66g, Ca 28.06mg, Fe 2.56mg, cholesterol 68mg, and taurin 51mg. Fatty acid consists of various unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid(46.24%) and oleic acid(33.67%).

We analyzed the D.I. water used in wet cleaning process of semiconductor device manufacturing both at the D.I. water plant and at the wafer cleaning bath to detect the impurity source of D.I. water contamination. This shows that the quantity of impurity is related to the resistivity of D.I. water, and we found that the cleanliness of the wafer surface processed in D.I. water bath was affected by the degree of the ionic impurity contamination. So we evaluated the cleaning effect as different method for Fe ion, having the best adsoptivity on wafer surface. Moreover the temperature effect of the D.I. water is investigated in case of anion in order to remove the chemical residue after wet process. In addition to the control of D.I. water resistivity, chemical analysis of impurity control in D.I. water should be included and a suitable cleaning an drinsing method needs to be investigated for a high yielding semiconductor device.

MEMS technology applying to the sensors and micro-electro devices is complete system. These microsystems are made by variable processes. Especially, the mentallization process has very important functions to transfer the power operating the sensor and signal induced from sensor part. But in the structures of MEMS the local stress concentration and deformation are often yielded by an irregular geometrical shape and different constraint. Therefore, this paper studies the effect of supporting type and thickness ratio about thin film of the substrate on the residual stress variation when the thermal loads is applied to the multi-layer thin film fabricated by metallization process. Specimens were made from several materials such as Al, Au and Cu. Then, uniform thermal load was applied, repeatedly. The residual stress was measured by FE Analysis and nano-indentation method using AFM. Generally, the specimen made of Al induced the larger residual stress than that of made of other materials. Specimen made of Cu and Au having the low thermal expansion coefficient induces the minimum residual stress. Similarly, the lowest indentation length was measured by nano-indentation method in the Si/Au/Cu specimen. Particularly, clusters are created in the specimen made of Cu by thermal load and the indentation length became increasingly large by cluster formation.
This article investigates the heat transfer characteristics in a RTA system for LCD manufacturing and suggests a way to evaluate the quality of a poly-Si film from the thin film optics analysis. The transient and one-dimensional conductive/radiative heat transfer equation considering wave interference effect is solved to predict surface temperatures of thin films. In dealing with radiative heat transfer, a one-dimensional two-flux method is used and the ray tracing method is also utilized to account for the wave interference effects. It is assumed that each interface is assumed diffusive but the spectral radiative properties are included. It is found that the selective heating region exists for various wavelengths and consequently may contribute to heat the poly-Si film. Using the formalism of the characteristic transmission matrix, the lumped structure reflectance, transmittance, and absorptance are calculated and they are compared with experimental data of the poly-Si film during the SPC process via the FE-RTA (Field-Enhanced RTA) technology.

The purpose of this study is to confirm the improvement of formability of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheet by using local heating and cooling technique. For this, the experiments of warm deep drawing were done under the temperatures of $100^{\circ}C\~400^{\circ}C$, and the punch velocity of 10, 100mm/min. Also FE analysis under the temperatures of blankholder and die of $150^{\circ}C,\;225^{\circ}C\;and\;300^{\circ}C$ for tools(holder and die) was executed with considering heat teansfer. From the results, the formability of AZ31 magnesium alloy, espicially the temperatures of $225^{\circ}C\~250^{\circ}C$ for tools(holder and die)improved remarkably. And the experiments and simulations showed that necking under room temperature for tools occured under the part of punch shoulder while at $300^{\circ}C$ for tools, at the part of die shoulder.
In this paper, the serrated forming process is analyzed with finite element method. The seal should secure the overlapping portions of ligature, which has teeth for ligature to prevent from slipping each other after clamping. In the simulation, rigid-plastic finite element model has been applied to the serration forming process. Serration or teeth forming characteristics has been analyzed numerically in terms of teeth geometry based on different forming conditions. Analyses are focused to find the influence of different die movements and geometries on the tooth geometry, which is crucial for securing overlapping portions of ligature. Two major process variables are selected, which are the face angle and entry angle of punch, respectively. Extensive investigation has been performed to reveal the influences of different entry and face angles on the geometry of teeth formation in the simulation. Three different face angles of punch have been selected to apply to each simulation of serrated sheet forming process with every case of punch entry angles. Furthermore, tooth geometries predicted from simulation have been applied to the indention process for comparing proper tooth geometries to secure the sealing.
