  • The importance of broadband wireless communication system at subway tunnels is growing up. At 18GHz wireless video transmission system, the transmitter requires a digital modulation method. At subway tunnel, A 18GHz's influence of the multi-pass padding is strong. OFDM digital modulation that is strong for multi-pass padding is recommended. Duplexing methode uses FDD to transmit and receive broadband data at the same time. In the case of FDD we assign a private use channel each with the transmission at the receiving. In this paper, We implement multiple access wireless OFDM transceiver. We verified that one ground transceiver communicates with two car transceiver at the same time.

  • 본 논문에서는 외부지역에서 낮은 주파수 대역으로 FDD(Frequency Division Duplex)를 사용하고 내부지역에서 TDD(Time Division Duplex)를 사용하는 이중대역 동작을 하는 멀티모드 시나리오에서 내부지역의 CDMA/TDD의 용량을 조사하였다. 특히, 셀 반경, 데이터 전송률, 타임 슬롯 할당과 같은 다양한 시스템 파라미터의 영향을 분석하였다.

  • 국내 이동통신은 상향과 하향 신호를 주파수 대역으로 구분하는 주파수분할(FDD: Frequency Division Duplex) 방식을 중심으로 발전해 왔으나, 최근 가용 주파수가 줄어드는 상황에서 5G 대응 및 모바일 생태계의 지속적인 발전을 위해 상향과 하향을 시간으로 구분하는 시분할(TDD: Time Division Duplex) 방식의 주파수 활용에 대한 필요성이 높아지는 추세이다. 또한, 주파수 이용 효율성, 주파수 확보 용이성, FDD-TDD 상호 호환성, TDD 생태계 조성의 필요성, 5G 신기술 수용 및 확장성 등을 고려할 때 국내 TDD 주파수 정책은 분명 새로운 전환 국면을 맞이하고 있으며, 이에 국내 환경에 적합한 TDD 정책방향을 탐색하기 위해 최근 국내외 LTE-TDD 서비스 및 시장, 주파수 및 기술 동향을 살펴보고, 향후 TDD 활용 전망을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • 원전 탈기기 저장탱크의 기하학적 구조 및 정상 상태에서의 입출력 흐름율을 고려하여 동적 제어 모델을 설정하고, 적응 추정기를 이용하여 수위 측정 센서의 고장 검출 및 진단 기법을 제안하였다. 영광 3, 4호기의 실제 운전 데이터를 적용하여 제안된 고장 검출 및 진단 기법의 성능을 평가하고 타당성을 검증하였다.

Agile Adoption in IT Organizations

  • Many IT organizations aspire to improve the efficiency and general standard of their software development effort by implementing agile software development practices. Some of the popular agile development methods adopted by IT organizations are Scrum, eXtreme Programming (XP), Kanban, Featured Driven Development (FDD) and Dynamic System Development Method (DSDM). This paper intends to identify and analyze the barriers that impact on the performance of IT organizations that use such agile software development methods. The analysis will help the IT organizations to cater the needed aspects to be successful. The analysis will also help the IT organizations to select the right methodology for their organization. The contribution of this analysis is to present guideline related to avoid or overcome the barriers towards adoption of agile.

  • Fault detection and diagnosis(FDD) system is beneficial in equipment management by providing the operator with tools which can help find out a failure of the system. An experimental study has been performed on fault detection and diagnosis method for a water chiller. Bayes classifier, which is one of classical pattern classifiers, is adopted in deciding whether fault occurred or not. FDD algorithm can detect refrigerant leak failure, when 20% amount of charged refrigerant for normal operation leaks from the water chiller. The refrigerant leak failure caused COP reduction by 6.7% compared with normal operation performance. When two kinds of faults, such as a decrease in the mass flow rate of cooling water and temperature sensor fault of cooling water inlet, are detected, COP is a little decreased by these faults.

  • In this paper, we propose a modified CP-AFC(Cross-Product Automatic Frequency Control) algorithm to enhance coherent signal detection for WCDMA reverse link receiver. We introduce a moving average filter at the FDD(Frequency Difference Detector) input to increase the number of cross-products, since pilot symbol in WCDMA is not transmitted continuously. We also add normalization algorithm to overcome the conventional CP-FDD's sensitivity to the variance of input signal amplitude and to increase the linear range of S- curve. For rapid frequency acquisition and tracking, we adopt a multi-stage tracking mode. We applied the proposed algorithm in the implementation of WCDMA base station modem successfully.

  • Identification of steady-state is the first step in developing a fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) system. In a complete FDD system, the steady-state detector will be included as a module in a self-learning algorithm which enables the working system's reference model to "tune" itself to its particular installation. In this study, a steady-state detector of a residential air conditioner based on moving windows was designed. Seven representing measurements were selected as key features for steady-state detection. The optimized moving window size and the feature thresholds was suggested through startup transient test and no-fault steady-state test. Performance of the steady-state detector was verified during indoor load change test. From the research, the general methodology to design a moving window steady-state detector was provided for vapor compression applications.

Packet Scheduling Algorithm Considering a Minimum Bit Rate for Non-realtime Traffic in an OFDMA/FDD-Based Mobile Internet Access System

  • In this letter, we consider a new packet scheduling algorithm for an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access/frequency division duplex (OFDMA/FDD)-based system, e.g., mobile broadband wireless access or high-speed portable internet systems, in which the radio resources of both time and frequency slots are dynamically shared by all users under a proper scheduling policy. Our design objective is to increase the number of non-realtime service (e.g., WWW) users that can be supported in the system, especially when the minimum bit rate requirement is imposed on them. The simulation results show that our proposed algorithm can provide a significant improvement in the average outage probability performance for the NRT service, i.e., significantly increasing the number of NRT users without much compromising of the cell throughput.

Fault Detection and Diagnosis of the Deaerator Level Control System in Nuclear Power Plants

  • The deaerator of a power plant is one of feedwater heaters in the secondary system, and it is located above the feedwater pumps. The feedwater pumps take the water from the deaerator storage tank, and the net positive suction head(NSPH) should always be ensured. To secure the sufficient NPSH, the deaerator tank is equipped with the level control system of which level sensors are critical items. And it is necessary to ascertain the sensor state on-line. For this, a model-based fault detection and diagnosis(FDD) is introduced in this study. The dynamic control model is formulated from the relation of input-output flow rates and liquid-level of the deaerator storage tank. Then an adaptive state estimator is designed for the fault detection and diagnosis of sensors. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed FDD scheme are evaluated by applying the operation data of Yonggwang Units 3 & 4.
