Improved Facial Component Detection Using Variable Parameter and Verification (가변 변수와 검증을 이용한 개선된 얼굴 요소 검출)

  • Viola & Jones' object detection algorithm is a very good algorithm for the face component(FC) detection, but there are still problems such as duplicate detection, false detection and non-detection due to parameter setting. This paper proposes an improved FC detection algorithm that applies the variable parameter to reduce non-detection and the verification to reduce duplicate detection and false detection to the Viola & Jones' algorithm. The proposed algorithm reduces the non-detection by changing the parameter value of the Viola & Jones' algorithm until the potential valid FCs are detected, and eliminates the duplicate detection and the false detection by using the verification that evaluates size, position, and uniqueness of the detected FCs. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm includes valid FCs in the detected objects and then detects only the valid FCs by removing invalid FCs from them.

  • This paper proposes a fuzzy classifier system (FCS) using hyper-cone membership functions (HCMFs) and rule reduction techniques. The FCS can generate excellent rules which have the best number of rules and the best location and shape of membership functions. The HCMF is expressed by a kind of radial basis function, and its fuzzy rule can be flexibly located in input and output spaces. The rule reduction technique adopts a decreasing method by merging the two appropriate rules. We applay the FCS to a tubby rule generation for the inverted pendulum control.

  • The real time modeling of dynamic system on adaptive control system is very important for flying control system(FCS). Using traditional method, it is required much calculation load for integral/differential at control system. Therefore, It is very important theme of study in these days to find algorithms for integration/differential at FCS. These algorithms for integral/differential influence strongly stability/reliability to control flying object. In this paper, we present optimal predictive sampling time for reduce calculation load at FCS and optimal predictive time on general cost function by applying adaptive control method.

  • 본 논문은 fuzzy C 원형 윤곽선(fuzzy C spherical shells 이하 FCSS) 알고리즘을 확장한 interval 제2종 fuzzy C원형 윤곽선 알고리즘에 관한 연구이다. 본 논문에서는 FCSS의 클러스터 윤곽선과의 관계에 의해 패턴이 할당 받은 퍼지 소속도(fuzzy 소속도) 값 결정에 존재하는 불확실성(uncertainty)은 표현하고, 관리하여 플러스터링 성능을 향상하고자 한다. 이러한 과정을 통하여 확장된 interval 제2종 FCSS는 패턴 집합에 존재할 수 있는 노이즈(noise)의 존재에 대해 기존의 FCSS보다 좀더 안정적이고, 바람직한 클러스터 윤곽선을 검출해낼 수 있도록 할 수 있을 것이다.

Effect of Different Protein Concentrations on the Development of Bovine Zygots Co-cultured with Cumulus Cells (난구세포와의 공동배양시 우체외수정란의 초기발생에 미치는 단백질 농도의 영향)

  • 소의 체외수정란과 난구세포와의 공동배양시 발생배지에 FCS, CS 또는 BSA를 여러 농도로 첨가해 상실배 또는 배반포기배까지의 발생율을 비교 검토했다. 그 결과, 단백질원을 전혀 첨가하지 않은 경우 발생율이 11%로 첨가의 경우에 비해 낮았다. 한편, 1∼10% FCS(27∼38%), 1∼10%CS(29∼35%) 및 1∼10mg/ml BSA(57∼59%)를 첨가한 경우, 첨가단백질 농도 사이에서 발생율에 유의차는 인정되지 않았으나, 20%의 FCS와 CS, 20mg/ml의 BSA농동에서 보다 높은 발생율을 보였다(P<0.05). 첨가 단백질 종류로만 발생율을 비교한 경우, FCS(17∼35%) 및 CS(9∼35%) 첨가에 비해 BSA(35∼59%) 첨가시 높은 발생율이 인정되었따. 한편, BSA가 첨가된 배지에서 난구세포의 증식은 관찰되지 않았는데, 이와 같은 결과로부터 초기배의 발육과 난구세포의 성장 사이에는 상관관계가 없는 것으로 추측되었다.

Effects of Sera, HEPES and Granulosa Cells Added to Culture Medium on In Vitro Maturation of Extrafollicular Bovine Oocytes (배지에 첨가한 혈청, HEPES 및 과립막세포가 난포외 소 난자의 체외성숙에 미치는 영향)

  • Immature bovine oocytes were cultured to investigate whether the addition of FCS(10% or 20% ), CS (10%or 20% ) or BSA(5mg/ml) to culture medium with or without HEPES and co-culture with granulosa cells affect the frequency of in vitro maturation of extrafollicular bovine oocytes. After culture, the maturation rates were examined by the presence of 1st polar body and nuclear configuration. The maturation rate when FCS and CS as protein supplement were added to culture medium with or without HEPES was significantly higher than when BSA was added, and the maturation rate of extrafollicular bovine oocytes co-cultured with granulosa cells was higher than that cultured without granulosa cells, but there was no significant difference. FCS and CS were shown to be superior protein supplement when compared to BSA, and serum concentration, HEPES and co-culture with granulosa cells did not affect the in vitro-maturation of extrafollicular bovine oocytes.

Physicochemical and Textural Properties of Chestnut Starches (밤전분의 물리화학적 특성과 텍스쳐 특성)

  • To efficiently utilize not only fresh chestnut(FC) but also wormy chestnut(WC), four types of chestnut starches which were fresh chestnut starch(FCS), fresh chestnut crude starch(FCCS), wormy crude starch(WCS) and wormy chestnut crude starch(WCCS) were extracted. Amylose content of FCS(46.5%) and water binding capacity of FCCS(103.0%) were higher than those of othe three, respectively. Swelling powers of all sample starches increased rapidly from 6$0^{\circ}C$ to 8$0^{\circ}C$. Solubilities showed the same pattern as the swelling powers. In the textural properteis investigated with IUTM(instron universal testing machine), hardnesses and elasticties of chestnut starches were 50~58I.U. and 14~16I.U., respectively. The results of textural evaluations showed that it was possible to prepare chestnut mook with FCS, FCCS and WCS.

  • 본 논문은 유한요소 모델예측제어(FCS-MPC)의 샘플링 시간을 가변하여 표면부착형 영구자석 동기 전동기(SPMSM)의 토크 리플을 개선하고 스위칭 손실을 저감하는 가변 샘플링 시간이 적용된 모델예측제어 기법을 제안한다. 기존 FCS-MPC는 토크 리플을 저감하기 위해 고정 샘플링 시간을 짧게 설정하였다. 고정 샘플링 시간을 짧게 설정함에 따라, 전압벡터의 변경횟수가 증가하여 스위칭 손실이 증가하였다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 가변 샘플링 시간이 적용된 FCS-MPC를 통해 토크 리플을 저감하고, 전압벡터의 변경횟수를 감소시켜 스위칭 손실을 저감하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 기법은 시뮬레이션을 통해 증명되었다.

  • We proceed to develop the control software of GMACS, which is a wide-field, multi-object, moderate-resolution optical spectrograph for the Giant Magellan Telescope (GMT). Flexure Compensation System (FCS) prototype is one of the electronics and mechanical prototypes for GMACS. In this poster, we present the software design for the FCS prototype by using the software system modeling language, SysML. We also show two development tools to control the prototype that communicates via EtherCAT: using TwinCAT and Visual C++ on Windows 10, and GMT Software Development Kit (SDK) and C++ on Linux. We discuss the way to design the GMACS control software, which would not depend on the development tools.

Effects of Flipped Classroom Strategy on Students' Achievements in the Computer and Information Technology Course and Their Attitudes Towards It

  • This endeavor is an attempt to explore the effect of flipped classroom strategy (FCS) on (a) academic achievement in the computer and information technology course and (b) students' attitudes towards this strategy. The sample of the study consisted of 64 students, divided into two groups: experimental and control groups. Two instruments were used to collect the data: a test and a questionnaire. The test was used to measure the students' achievement and the questionnaire to measure their attitudes towards the FCS. The results show statistically significant differences at the level of 0.05 in support of the experimental group at all Bloom's levels. Similarly, students' positive attitude towards the FCS was evident. Therefore, expanding this strategy in different courses is highly recommended because it positively impacts students' achievements. Organizing workshops and designing courses that encourage teachers to implement the strategy in the classroom and develop their technical skills are also recommended.
