치관-치근 파절치의 회전을 이용한 의도적 재식술의 치험례 (CLINICAL STUDY OF THE ROTATIONAL INTENTIONAL REPLANTATION FOR THE TREATMENT OF INTRA-ALVEOLAR CROWN-ROOT FRACTURE : CASE REPORT)

  • 소아에서 영구 전치부에 강한 외상이 가해지는 경우 단순한 수평파절보다는 비스듬한 수직-수평파절을 보이는 경우가 많으며 파절선이 치은연하로 위치되는 경우도 많은데 그러한 경우 최근에 의도적 재식술을 이용한 치료가 많이 시도되고 있다. 파절치를 탈구시킨 후 순설측을 뒤바꿔서 재식할 경우치근의 방향 차이로 인하여 발치와에서 상방으로 위치되면서 치관의 길이를 증가시킬 수 있으며 파절선을 순측에 위치시켜 시야확보를 용이하게 할 수 있다. 본 증례에서는 치아외상으로 상악 중절치가 치관-치근 파절된 혼합치열기 환아에서 파절치를 $180^{\circ}$ 회전시켜 의도적 재식술을 시행하여 치료한 후 양호한 결과를 얻었다. 이에 예전의 치료방법과 더불어 회전을 이용한 의도적 재식술은 치관-치근 파절치의 또다른 치료 방법이 되리라 사료된다.

식품 압출성형공정의 열 및 기계에너지 분석 (Analysis of the Thermal/Mechanical Energy in Food Extrusion Process)

  • 압출성형공정에서 주로 자가발열로 전환되는 것으로 알려진 모터에너지를 자가발열 에너지와 기계에너지로 구분하였다. 온도 상승에 의한 에너지를 열에너지로 간주하였고, 모터에너지에서 자가발열로 전환된 에너지를 감한 나머지 에너지를 기계에너지로 정의하여, 일정한 배럴온도를 조건으로 할 때 열에너지 및 상대기계에너지(최저 스크류회전속도에서의 기계에너지를 0으로 기준하여 계산된 값)를 정량화할 수 있는 방법을 완성하였다. 콘그리트(corn grit)를 수분함량 $27{\sim}36%$의 범위에서 압출성형하였을 때, 스크류회전속도가 증가할수록 상대기계에너지는 크게 변화하였고, 열에너지는 거의 비슷하게 유지되었다. 수분함량이 높아질수록 상대기계에너지는 크게 증가하였고, 열에너지는 약간 증가하였다. 이로부터 수분함량이 높아질수록 모터에너지로부터 자가발열보다는 상대기계에너지의 작용이 커짐을 알 수 있었다.

Epoxy Resin 첨가 및 제조공정에 따른 MDF 시멘트 복합재료의 수분안정성 연구 (The Study of Water Stability of MDF Cement Composite by Addition of Epoxy Resin and Manufacturing Process)

  • HAC/PVA계 MDF 시멘트 복합재료의 수분안정성을 향상시키기 위하여 수용성 epoxy resm을 시멘트 중량에 대해 5wt% 에서 15wt%까지 첨가하고 calendering법, extruding법, warm pressing법으로 성형하여 epoxy resin첨가량 및 제조공정이 수분안정성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 제조된 시편은 건조상태 및 3일, 7일, 14일간 물 속에 침적 후 습윤강도를 3점 곡강도로 측정하고 SEM으로 표면 가까운 부분의 파단면을 관찰하고 수은압입법으로 기공분포 및 기공율을 분석하여 침수 재령벌 MDF 시멘트 복합재료의 미세조직 변화를 살펴보았다. 적량의 epoxy resin 첨가에 의해 건조강도는 감소하였으나 전반적으로 수분안정성이 향상되었다. 그러나 전반적으로 epoxy의 함량이 많아지면 초기건조강도는 감소하는 경향을 나타나었으며 epoxy 첨가량이 7wt% 이상일 경우에서는 수분안정성 역시 별다른 효과를 볼 수 없었다. 제조공정별로는 warm pressing법에 의해 성형된 경우 epoxy 첨가에 의한 강도 및 수분안정성 향상 효율이 다른 방법보다 월등히 뛰어났으며 epoxy resinmdmf 5wt%, 7wt% 첨가하였을 때, 최적의 강도 및 수분안정성 효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Study of Specific energy of mechanical destruction of ice for calculation of ice load on ships and offshore structures

  • Analysis of scenarios of transportation oil and gas which produced in the Arctic and others cold seas shows that in the near-term there will be a significant increase of tonnage of tankers for oil and gas and number of ships which should be exploited in difficult ice conditions. For the construction of ice-resistant structures (IRS) intended for production of oil and gas and transportation of these products at ice-class vessels, calculating the load from ice to board the ship and on surface of supports of the platforms are the actuality and urgent tasks. These tasks have one basis in both cases: at beginning of the contact occurs fracture of edge of ice, then occurs compressing of rubble shattered of ice, then they extruding from contact area, after this next layer of ice begin to destruct. At calculating the strength of plating and elements construct of vessels, icebreakers and ice-resistant platforms the specific energy of mechanical destruction ice ${\epsilon}_{cr}$ is an important parameter. For the whole period of study of physical and mechanical characteristics of sea ice have been not many experimental studies various researchers to obtain numerical values of this energetic characteristic of the strength of ice by a method called Ball Drop Test. This study shows that the destruction of the ice from dynamic loading in zone of contact occurs in several cycles, and the ice destructed with a minimum numerical values of ${\epsilon}_{cr}$. The author offer this energy characteristic to take as a base value for the calculation of ice load on ships and offshore structures.

행성탐사를 위한 거주지 건설 연구 : 현지자원 활용과 3D 프린팅 기술을 중심으로 (Using In Situ Resources and 3D Printing for Space Exploration Habitat Construction)

  • 행성 유인 탐사를 위한 NASA Centennial Challenge Program(이하 CCP)의 "3D-Printed Habitat Challenge : Phase 3"에서 건축물 출력이 지난 5월에 진행되었으며 2팀이 수상하였다. 본 연구진은 NASA CCP에서 제시한 조건에 맞추어 1/3 크기의 거주지(지름 3 m, 높이 2 m) 제작하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 달 복제토와 다양한 결합재를 배합하여 펠릿 형태의 3D 프린팅 건설 재료를 제작 및 이용하여 출력함에 따라 건설용 3D 프린터 결합재의 적합성을 선정하고 NASA 경연대회에서 제시 한 구조물을 제작하는 것이다. 노즐의 이동속도, 사출 속도 및 공급온도를 고정하고 재료 차원에서 최적화를 위해 연구를 진행하였으며 결합재의 비율 증가에 따른 재료의 한계점을 해결하기 위하여 공법의 변화를 주어 대회에서 요구하였던 조건에 맞추어 거주지 건설을 위한 연구를 진행 중이다.

Relatoinship between Sarcoplasmic Reticular Calcium Release and $Na^+-Ca^{2+}$ Exchange in the Rat Myocardial Contraction

  • Suppressive role of $Na^+-Ca^{2+}$ exchange in myocardial tension generation was examined in the negative frequency-force relationship (FFR) of electric field stimulated left atria (LA) from postnatal developing rat heart and in the whole-cell clamped adult rat ventricular myocytes with high concentration of intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ buffer (14 mM EGTA). LA twitch amplitudes, which were suppressed by cyclopiazonic acid in a postnatal age-dependent manner, elicited frequency-dependent and postnatal age-dependent enhancements after $Na^+-reduced,\;Ca^{2+}-depleted$ (26 Na-0 Ca) buffer application. These enhancements were blocked by caffeine pretreatment with postnatal age-dependent intensities. In the isolated rat ventricular myocytes, stimulation with the voltage protocol roughly mimicked action potential generated a large inward current which was partially blocked by nifedipine or $Na^+$ current inhibition. 0 Ca application suppressed the inward current by $39{\pm}4%$ while the current was further suppressed after 0 Na-0 Ca application by $53{\pm}3%.$ Caffeine increased this inward current by $44{\pm}3%$ in spite of 14 mM EGTA. Finally, the $Na^+$ current-dependent fraction of the inward current was increased in a stimulation frequency-dependent manner. From these results, it is concluded that the $Ca^{2+}$ exit-mode (forward-mode) $Na^+-Ca^{2+}$ exchange suppresses the LA tension by extruding $Ca^{2+}$ out of the cell right after its release from sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) in a frequency-dependent manner during contraction, resulting in the negative frequency-force relationship in the rat LA.

Drug Release from Xyloglucan Beads Coated with Eudragit for Oral Drug Delivery

  • Xyloglucan (XG), which exhibits thermal sol to gel transition, non-toxicity, and low gelation concentration, is of interest in the development of sustained release carriers for drug delivery. Drug-loaded XG beads were prepared by extruding dropwise a dispersion of indomethacin in aqueous XG solution (2 wt.-$\%$) through a syringe into corn oil. Enteric coating of XG bead was performed using Eudragit L 100 to improve the stability of XG bead in gastrointestinal (GI) track and to achieve gastroresistant drug release. Release behavior of indomethacin from XG beads in vitro was investigated as a function of loading content of drug, pH of release medium, and concentration of coating agent. Adhesive force of XG was also measured using the tensile test. Uniform-sized spherical beads with particle diameters ranging from 692 $\pm$ 30 to 819 $\pm$ 50 $\mu$m were obtained. The effect of drug content on the release of indomethacin from XG beads depended on the medium pH. Release of indomethacin from XG beads was retarded by coating with Eudragit and increased rapidly with the change in medium pH from 1.2 to 7.4. Adhesive force of XG was stronger than that of Carbopol 943 P, a well-known commercial mucoadhesive polymer, in wet state. Results indicate the enteric-coated XG beads may be suitable as a carrier for oral drug delivery of irritant drug in the stomach.

  • Properties of $Al_{86}Ni_6Ce_4Mg_4$ alloy powder produced by helium gas atomization process were investigated by using DSC, XRD, SEM and TEM. The powders below 32 ${\mu}m$ in diameter were identified as an amorphous phase mixed with a ${\alpha}-Al$ phase. $Al_{86}Ni_6Ce_4Mg_4$ bulk alloy was manufactured by hot extruding the alloy powders at various temperatures, and the estimation of its mechanical properties was carried out subsequently. As a result, the bulk alloy extruded at the temperature below $450^{\circ}C$ exhibited the microstructure in which the near-spherical shape of some powders below 20 ${\mu}m$ were nearly unchanged and fine voids between matrix and powders were formed during extrusion process. On the other hand, the tensile strength and elongation at room temperature for $Al_{86}Ni_6Ce_4Mg_4$ bulk alloy extruded at $450^{\circ}C$ were 750 MPa and 7.5%, respectively.

크라비욘 원사가 함유된 면타올의 오배자 염색 (Gallnut dyeing of Crabyon Fiber Contained Cotton Towels)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the dyeability of crabyon fiber contained cotton towels after dyeing with gallut. In this study, the colorants of gallnut were extracted with boiling water at 60℃ and 60min. Crabyon, composite fiber of Chitin/Chitosan and cellulose, is manufactured by uniformly blending Chitin/Chitosan and cellulose viscose and extruding the blended viscose into spin-bath. Cotton towels with crabyon fiber dyed with extracted solution from gallnut according to concentration, temperature and time. Crabyon fiber contained cotton towels dyed using gallnut were pre of post-mordanted using Al, Cu, and Fe. The dyeability(K/S) and color characteristics(L*, a*, b*, C, and h(color angle)) of dyed crabyon fiber contained cotton towels were measured by computer color matching machine and photographs. The crabyon fiber composition of cotton towels was conformed by amide peak(-CONH-) of chitin or chitosan of FT-IR spectroscopy. The results obtained were as follows; The amide peak of crabyon fiber contained cotton towels appeared at about 1652 cm−1. The dyeability of crabyon fiber contained cotton towel was increased gradually with increasing concentration of gallnut dyeing solution and saturated at about 150%(o.w.f). The optimum dyeing temperature and dyeing time were 90~100℃ and 80minutes expectively. The crabyon fiber contained cotton towels were dyed reddish yellow by non, Al, and Cu mordanting, reddish blue by Fe mordanting, respectively. The fastness to washing according to concentration of gallnut in and mordanting method indicated good grade result as more than 3~4 degree in all conditions.

Influence of Processing Method on Ileal Digestibility of Nutrients from Soybeans in Growing and Finishing Pigs

  • Eight crossbred barrows (four growing and four finishing pigs with average initial BW of 40 and 82 kg, respectively) were fitted with T-cannulas at the distal ileum and used in a 36 d metabolism experiment ($4{\times}4$ Latin squares) to determine the effects of roasting and extruding full-fat soybeans on nutrient utilization. Treatments were: 1) soybean meal; 2) roasted soybeans; 3) extruded soybeans; and 4) soybeans extruded with an extrusion enhancer (sodium sulfite). The control diet was corn starch-based with 0.90% lysine, 0.65% Ca and 0.55% P for the growing pigs and 0.75% lysine, 0.55% Ca and 0.45% P for the finishing pigs. For the growing pigs, apparent total tract digestibilities of DM (p<0.04) and GE (p<0.008) were greater for soybean meal than full-fat soy products. However, ileal digestibilities of DM, GE, N and most amino acids were, in general, greatest for extruded soybeans and lowest for roasted soybeans, with soybean meal intermediate. For finishing pigs, trends in digestibilities of nutrients were very similar to those for the growing pigs. Total tract digestibilities of DM (p<0.03) and GE (p<0.001) for soybean meal were greater than for the full-fat soy products and ileal digestibilities of DM, GE, N and most amino acids were greater for the extruded soybeans than for the roasted soybeans. In conclusion, nutrient digestibilities and availabilities of indispensable amino acids tended to be greatest in extruded soybeans, intermediate in soybean meal and lowest in roasted soybeans for growing and finishing pigs.
