Well-aligned multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were fabricated by utilizing a radio frequency plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (rf-PECVD) system from Ni particles at the bottom of anodic alumina nanoholes (AAN). To remove the amorphous graphite layers on the AAN surface and to eliminate the protrusion of MWNT tips, the AAN surface with MWNTs were treated by external rf plasma source. As a result, the AAN surface almost became flat without having any protrusion of MWNT tips. The diameter, length of MWNTs and AAN were investigated by using a scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Raman spectroscopy was also used to characterize wall structure of the carbon nanotube. And the emission properties of the MWNTs were measured for the application of field emission display (FED) in near future.

The drilling experiment of carbon fiber epoxy composite material with WC-drill has been done under the various cutting conditions in order to minimize the problems occurred in the material while being drilled. It has been confirmed by a frequency analysis of the cutting force signals that the variation of cutting force resulted from the periodic variation of the angle between the ortating drill and the stacking angle of the carbon fiber. By the drilling experiment with several drills having different point angles, the drilling char- acteristics, which show the relations between the change in the point angle and cutting force or external surface condition, were analyzed.
The adsorption of nitrogen (77K) and carbon dioxide(273K) was performed on a series of activated carbon fiber. Theadsorption iotherm of nitrogen was typical type 1 and that of carbon dioxide was convex. As the specific surface area increases, there are linear increases in BET constant C mean pore diameter, the width of pore size distribution, wide micropore volume, total micropore volume, total pore volume and external surface area, however, narrow micropore volume was nealy constant . The total micorpore volume fraction in total pore volume is above 97%.
Previous studies stated that low carbon innovation performance could be influenced by government regulations and the green market, which is the new trend of consumer consumption in the present time, mainly focusing on external factors. Before study augured that low carbon innovation performance could be driven by internal and external factors of cooperation such as institutional pressure, stakeholder pressure, and innovation resources. However, the study of green transformational leadership and organizational environmental culture on low carbon innovation performance is rare, especially in Chinese manufacturing, as well as the effect of influencing factors of TPB model: environmental attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavior capability on low carbon innovation performance. Previous studies mostly used the TPB model for predicting individual behavior. This study established a theoretical model combining the TPB model with green transformational leadership and organizational environmental culture of Chinese automobile manufacturing on low carbon innovation performance. This study consists of two sections of research methodology: section 1 related to questionnaire design and data collection. We established a questionnaire and distributed it online, targeting responses from the managerial level working in Chinese automobile manufacturing. Eventually, 155 valid questionnaires were used for analysis. Section 2 involved data analysis using statistical software. Reliability and data validity was examined by reliability analysis and factor analysis. Correlations and convergent validity analyses were applied, and structural equation modeling was conducted to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings indicated that green transformational leadership, organizational environmental culture, and essential factors of TPB model; environmental attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavior capability positively affect low carbon innovation performance. In addition, the indirect effect of green transformational leadership was tested and found that organizational environmental culture and TPB factors mediated the relationship between transformational leadership and low carbon innovation performance.
The effect of processing and designing variables such as pouring temperature(1400 or $1500^{\circ}C$), inoculation and risering design(T and H type) on the formation of defects such as external depression, primary and secondary shrinkage cavities in GC150 gray cast iron was investigated. In T type risering design, external depression or primary shrinkage cavity due to liquid contraction was formed in all of the eight cases. Regardless of its modulus value, the riser could not function properly in T type risering design because directional solidification was not promoted toward the riser. On the other hand, the four cases of H type risering design in which thermal sleeves were set onto the risers produced defect-free castings. In both types of the risering designs, secondary shrinkage cavity caused by solidification contraction was not observed in the casting because of the expansion pressure due to graphite precipitation and the application of rigid pep-set mold. The degree of external depression or primary shrinkage cavity was reduced with lowered pouring temperature. The effect of inoculation was diminished because of the high carbon equivalent of GC 150 gray cast iron.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) proposes 11 industries that handle Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) that are considered to need management. A water treatment facility is one of the above industries that takes in groundwater and produces drinking water through a water treatment process. Groundwater can accumulate natural radionuclides such as uranium and thorium in raw water by contacting rocks or soil containing natural radionuclides. Therefore, there is a possibility that workers in water treatment facilities will be exposed due to the accumulation of natural radionuclides in the water treatment process. The goal of this study is to evaluate the external radiation dose according to the working type of workers in water treatment facilities. In order to achieve the above goal, the study was conducted by dividing it into 1) analysis of the exposure environment, 2) measurement of the external radiation dose rate 3) evaluation of the external radiation dose. In the stage of analyzing the exposure environment, major processes that are expected to occur significantly were derived. In the measurement stage of the external radiation dose rate, a map of the external radiation dose rate was prepared by measuring the spatial radiation dose rate in major processes. Through this, detailed measurement points were selected considering the movement of workers. In the external radiation dose evaluation stage, the external radiation dose was evaluated based on the previously derived external radiation dose rate and working time. As a result of measuring the external radiation dose rate at the detailed points of water treatment facilities A to C, it was 1.90×10-1 to 3.75×100 μSv h-1, and the external radiation dose was analyzed as 3.27×10-3 to 9.85×10-2 mSv y-1. The maximum external radiation dose appeared during the disinfection and cleaning of activated carbon at facility B, and it is judged that natural radionuclides were concentrated in activated carbon. It was found that the external radiation dose of workers in the water treatment facility was less than 1mSv y-1, which is about 10% of the dose limit for the public. As a result of this study, it was found that the radiological effect of external radiation dose of domestic water treatment facility workers was insignificant. The results are expected to contribute as background data to present optimized safety management measures for domestic NORM industries in the future.
The feasibility of utilizing food waste leachate as an external carbon source was tested to enhance biological nutrient removal from an industrial wastewater with an average flow rate of $164,800m^3/d$ and a low carbon/nitrogen ratio of 2.8. A considerable improvement in the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus was observed when a certain amount of the leachate, ranging from 70 to $142m^3/d$, was supplemented to the biological industrial wastewater treatment process. The addition of the leachate led to an increase in the BOD/N ratio (4.5) and the removal efficiency of nutritents from 29.7% to 71.7% for nitrogen and from 34.8% to 65.6% for phosphorus. However, an excessive dose of the leachate that significantly exceeded $120m^3/d$ caused serious operational problems, like oil-layer formation in the grit chamber and scum layer in the primary clarifier. Thus, an supplement of food waste leachate at a dose acceptable to an existing facilities can be a practical and effective means to enhance the nutrient removal from industrial wastewater and to dispose of the food waste leachate.

In this study, organic carbon was extracted from the condensed water of food waste drying process to estimate the applicability as external organic carbon sources. The COD, TN, TP and TS of condensed water were 21,374 mg/L, 148 mg/L, 4.19 mg/L, and 455.7 mg/L, respectively. In addition, the content of biodegradable organics in condensed water was 47%. The fractional distillation and the vacuum evaporation were employed for extracting organic carbon. There were 8 extraction conditions, but 4 conditions were available for extraction. They were 1) 0mmHg, 110℃ 2) -600mmHg, 70℃ 3) -500mmHg, 80℃ 4) -600mmHg, 80℃. All 4 conditions showed the highest organic concentration and the highest quantity of organics when extracted 10% of initial volume. It was estimated that optimum conditions were 80℃, -600mmHg and 10% extraction. Then, extraction concentration, extraction quantity, extraction efficiency, extraction time, BOD/TCOD ratio, TVFAs/TCOD ratio and NH3-N were 174,200 mg/L, 8,710 mg, 46%, 10 min, 0.97, 0.74 and 75.5 mg/L respectively. Therefore, the extracted organic carbon can be utilized as external organic carbon sources.
Denitrifying bacteria convert nitrate to nitrogen gas using an external carbon source as an electron donor. The external carbon source affects the denitrification performance and bacterial community structure. Although methanol is a cheap and effective external carbon source, the addition of diverse carbon sources may improve the total nitrogen removal rate and biomass characteristics, such as settleability. In this study, denitrifying reactions were performed using solely methanol and mixed carbon sources of methanol, glucose, and acetate in a sequencing batch reactor. The denitrifying reactor using methanol resulted in a total nitrogen removal rate of 0.39 ± 0.025 kg-N/m3-day while the suspended biomass transformed into dark brown granules. Methyloversatilis discipulorum had the highest predominance at 43.84%. The individual denitrifying biomasses, which were separately enriched with methanol, glucose, and acetate, showed the same total nitrogen removal performance of 0.39 ± 0.016 kg-N/m3-day. However, the addition of mixed carbon sources showed an improved total nitrogen removal rate of 0.42 ± 0.043 kg-N/m3-day, with the domination of Candidatus Saccaribacteria at 25.61%. The denitrifying granules turned pale yellow color. Influent COD/NO3--N ratios of 3.5, 5, and 7.5 exhibited COD/NO3--N consumptions of 4.3 ± 0.4, 4.4 ± 0.8, and 5.2 ± 0.7, and the consistent predominance of Candidatus Saccharibacteria.
