아파트 보조부엌의 유형별 개조특성에 관한 연구 (The Remodeling Characteristics of Various Types of Secondary Kitchen in Apartment House)

  • The study analyzes the remodeling characteristics of the four different types of secondary kitchens in apartment house based on their floor plans. The secondary kitchens are categorized into side placement, back placement, back placement with extensions on both sides, and back placement with an extension on a single side. The twelve apartment complexes in Ulsan were selected so that they may all consist each of the four types, and answered the survey. The classified traits of secondary kitchen were examined based on the characteristics of floor plan and remodeling. Side placement and back placement with extensions on both sides mostly used glass hinged doors. Back placement and back placement with a single side extension used glass sliding doors. It was found that the majority of the floor materials consisted of both wood and tiles, except for side placements, where only tiles were used. The sizes of the back placements with both and single side extensions were the largest. The side and back placements were rarely renovated, however, back placements with both and single side extensions went through massive remodeling.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify ways of remodeling from the traditional hanok to the modern local governmental facility in 1910s. Analysing architectural drawings in the National Archives of Korea, 58 hanok remodeling cases of 52 facilities were verified like the provincial office, county office, county court from 1907 to 1910s. Using hanok as the local governmental building, exterior walls were all changed to the scaled-wooden wall like one of western-wooden building in 1910s and the western-style entrance was set. Change of the plan caused by remodeling interior walls had an intention of the centralized closed plan. Remodeled semi-outer corridor using the space of the eave became changed to the inner corridor with expansion of space. Expansion of hanok for spatial demand was in three ways. First was the expansion towards the eave space, second was direct extension from hanok, and last was the use of external corridor to the new building. Using the eave space was simple but had limitation of space, it was planed with other expansion ways. The way of direct extension was usually used than the one with the corridor, because it was more economical way.

  • Nowadays, remodeling cases for some apartment like Hyundai through the support of government are reported. Conventionally, balcony and aisle are extended for additional private area or balcony which is supported by new frame is extended. In extension work at site, dowel bar is conventionally inserted in old concrete slab for connection with old and new slab, however, an examination for structural safety is rarely performed prior to construction, if ever, vertical load is only considered for structural analysis. When conventionally connected structures are exposed to earthquake, the old and new structures have individual earthquake behavior with different mode, which may lead the elimination of resistance to earthquake in new structures. As of this reason, new detailing connection system which can have light weight and sufficient ductility performance is developed for application to domestic extension works. Additionally, user manual and specification are also developed for fertilization of application for the developed technology.

Influences of the Residential Environment on the Apartment Remodeling: Involving the Expansion of Households and Dwelling Area

  • Space extension and the increase of the number of households are helpful to raise business value of the remodeling through the renovation of apartment houses that is required by residents of new cities and large-scaled apartment. However, in the case of accepting this demand, it could have a bad influence on the landscape of a complex in terms of the structure of apartment houses and the safety of construction and urban planning, and a problem occurs in the aspect of fairness for reconstruction. For the study, the current status related to the remodeling system through laws, related articles since 2000 and research data was analyzed. In addition, the individual quantitative analysis was conducted in the four aspects to judge whether households expansion for remodeling is plausible:1) Statistical data to comprehend the changes of population and social structure 2) Survey data of floor space index and the building-to-land ratio of new cities at the intial stage for the review of the effect of architectural planning and urban environment 3) Surveys of experts on structural safety in order to judge whether the demand of expansion is accepted or not. 4) Quantitative analysis of each item to compare fairness with reconstruction. Therefore, this study is intended to understand problems of the remodeling system that is currently operated. Moreover, it will be further reviewed that the expansion of households is feasible through the permission of expansion and it will be discussed that the revitalization of the apartment remodeling has a positive impact on the residential environment.

  • This study researched problems of safety inspection method and current legislative system for the structure safety evaluation of Rahmen structure affected by remodeling. The elements of weight increase were examined in terms of differences of load moment, shear force, compressive stress and amount of steel before and after remodeling by structure analysis. The thorough examination for impacts of weight increase is indispensable to change of use or extension.

  • This study examined public building remodeling projects in France. Through investigating cases of ancient buildings remodeled in France, the study aimed to provide fundamental data and analysis for remodeling public buildings. Accordingly, seven cases were analyzed in terms of remodeling methods, architectural characteristics, methods of conservation, and restoration of ancient historical buildings, as well as a change of usage of an existing building. As a result, this study found the criteria of French ancient building remodeling. The remodeling methods of an existing building vary in their goals and strategies depending on how the old architectural elements are persevered, as well as how new elements are added to form their unique characteristics. Thus, the remodeling methods are classified into four types based on causes: restoration, extension, renovation and rebuilding. Such methods are used jointly rather than individually. The ancient building remodeling is the process of recreating new functions and new artistic values to preserve the cultural and artistic values of existing historic buildings.

국내 종합병원의 리모델링 전.후 공간비교에 관한 건축계획적 연구 (A Study on the Archtectural Planning Compared with Space for Before and After Remodeling of General Hospitals in Korea)

  • An early stage of general hospital in Korea was the quantitative growth period. Remodeling has been required to meet the increasing medical demands. To accept the change of paradigm and management operation method, remodeling occurred from the 20th century. Remodeling plans are difficult to define the direction of the detailed plan due to various factors in the beginning of the construction, Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the possibility and limitation of a feasible remodeling plan of general hospitals through the comparison of existing hospital before remodeling and after the remodeling takes effect. A comparison of the researched hospital's blue prints before and after the remodeling and recently built hospital's blue print, analyzed characteristic of the space variation by the remodeling. The purpose of research is to confirm a possibility and limitation of remodeling of general hospitals comparing with merits and faults of extension, reconstruction, and construction. In conclusion, the area of remodeling hospitals increase mostly medical department(ward, outpatient department, inpatient department) and subsidiary facilities, but the area of ward and inpatient department are less than the new hospitals. Especially, public area is greatly increased by the diversification of corridor function. Also, remodeling hospitals represent a limitation to plan departments in need of equipment-intensive space. To address this problem, expansion space is used mainly with inpatient department and existing space is placed mainly with low-impact department by equipment ; outpatient department, administration department.

수직증축 공동주택 하부 신설 보강말뚝의 축강성 산정 (Estimation of the Axial Stiffness of Reinforcing Piles in Vertical Extension Structures)

  • 본 연구에서는 수직증축 공동주택 하부 신설 보강말뚝의 축강성(Kvr)을 기존말뚝의 열화를 고려한 이론적인 접근과 수치해석을 통하여 산정하였다. 3차원 유한요소 수치해석을 수행하는 과정에서, 이론적인 접근과 38본의 시험 말뚝계측 결과를 통하여 제안된 열화를 고려한 기존말뚝 축강성(Kve)의 상한 값을 적용하였다. 이를 통해, 수직증축 리모델링으로 인하여 증가된 하중을 안정적으로 지지하기 위한 신설 보강말뚝의 최소 축강성을 산정하였다. 신설 보강말뚝의 축강성 제안은 선단지지 말뚝과 마찰말뚝에 대해 수행하였고, 다양한 세장비(L/D)에 따라 제안하였다. 해석기법은 기존말뚝의 설계 당시의 양호한 상태를 고려한 말뚝지지 전면기초 거동 해석과 열화가 고려된 기존말뚝의 축강성을 적용한 말뚝지지 전면기초 거동 해석을 수행하였다. 두 해석기법에 대한 검증을 수행한 결과 말뚝지지 전면기초 거동해석이 가능한 것으로 확인되었고, 이를 통하여 기존말뚝의 열화가 발생하였을 때 선단지지 신설 보강말뚝 축강성이 44 - 67% 증가되어야 수직증축 구조물의 안정성이 확보됨을 알 수 있었다.

일제강점기 기존 건물을 전용한 군청사의 개축 및 증축 양상 (Remodeling and Extension of reused Goon(郡) Office Buildings in the Japanese Colonial Period)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 기존건물을 전용하는 군청사는 어느 정도 차지하는지, 전용한 군청사의 건축적 특성은 무엇인지, 군청사 기능에 맞게 증개축하는 경우 그 양상을 고찰하는 것이다. 군청사 관련 디지털 도면자료, 해제와 더불어 조선총독부와 각 도 사이에 오고간 문서와 신문 잡지의 기사 도면 사진 등을 발굴 분석하는 문헌연구방법을 사용한다. 군청사로 전용된 건물은 조선과 대한제국의 지방관립시설, 대한제국기 군청사, 용도를 알 수 없는 건물로 나뉜다. 전용 건물을 군청사의 위상과 기능에 적합하게 개축할 때는 방을 구획하는 벽을 털어내 큰 방을 만들고 접수대를 놓아 직원의 업무공간과 민원인의 대기공간으로 구분했고, 증축은 전면 중앙에 작은 돌출현관을 내달고 간단한 양식 목조의 부속가를 본가의 뒤나 옆에 신축하고 외부연결복도로 이었다. 전용 군청사가 전체 군의 약 30%로 많고 전국에 걸쳐 있었는데, 그 57%가 나중에 신축되는데 절반은 1930년대 전반기 신축되고 이후 급감한다.

분당 서울대학교병원 증축 설계 사례 연구 (A Case Study on Extension Design of Seoul National University Bundang Hospital)

  • Recently general hospitals in Korea have been actively remodeled. Remodeling is required to extend the hospitals' area and to meet the new medical demand. Eventually it aims for achieving ideal healing environment. Seoul National University Bundang Hospital has also developed the schematic design to open the new hospital in 2012. This large scale of extension is the first step in its expected remodeling cycle. It is essential for the extension of hospital to create an architectural system on the basis of function, and to keep the balance with both the existing buildings and natural context simultaneously. To connect the existing hospital and the new hospital, a hospital street should be designed to make it function as a main pedestrian spine. Space design marketing of general hospital is effective in promoting the hospital image. It can be realized by emphasizing hospital identity through combining cultural program and commercial facilities. Developing hospital design should be encouraged under the EBD (Evidence Based Design) concept spread in USA.
