  • Spinoglenoid cyst of the shoulder is a rare clinical entity and several treatment modalities have been reported. Recently, arthroscopy is effectively used via communication hole or posterior capsulotomy through the glenohumeral joint. With this method, the complete cystectomy is impossible if the cyst is a large size or extended anteriorly and there are few reports about such cases. We present extra-articular complete cystectomy through bursal space in 3 cases of huge and anteriorly extended spinoglenoid cysts. All patients were able to return to work with no restrictions and 2 patients who performed the follow up MRI demonstrated complete resolution of the cyst and some recovery of the mass of infraspinatus muscle.

  • One of the methods currently being investigated as a possible non-intrusive diagnostic tool for condition monitoring of power transformer and cable is the recovery voltage measurement, which will be improving the ability to detect the content of water concentration and the ageing process in the insulation system and may thus be an indicator of insulation quality and its ageing status. The polarization phenomenon was studied using RVM with oil-paper samples. In order to interpret its mechanism, the Extended Debye model was introduced. With different circuit parameters, various simulation results were gotten. Furthermore, with the test samples of different ageing condition, measurements are accomplished in the lab. On the basis of this experiment as well as theoretical analysis, correlations between polarizations and ageing were analyzed.

  • The generation of waste cable has been continuously increased as a production of electrical and communication media are extended. The current recovery methods, such as mechanical peeling, incineration, solvent extraction and pyrolysis, seems inadequate because they are either hard to apply in some cases or environmentally unacceptable. It has been shown that copper can be effectively separated from the jelly filled type cables using a soybean oil treatment method. As a result, jelly compound is vanished from the wire by soybean oil bath and waste wires are separated copper and PE by the mechanical chipper. This is a more environmentally friendly method than burning, and considerably faster than Stripping.

  • The mission-critical computer for air defense has to maintain its operation without any fault for a long mission time and is required to implement at low cost. Now the reliability of the mission critical-computer using Active Sparing Redundancy fault-tolerant technique is inferior to that of the computer using TMR technique. So in this paper are proposed Extended ASR(EASR) technique that provides higher reliability than that of the computer using TMR technique. The fault-tolerant performance of the implemented mission-critical computer is proven through reliability analysis and numbers of fault recovery test. Also, the reliability of the mission-critical computer using EASR technique is compared with those of computer using ASR and TMR techniques. EASR technique is very suitable to the mission-critical computer.

  • The elastic recovery of a metal seal is a factor that can be used to assess its sealing performance. In this study, a compliant mechanism topology optimization has been performed to find a structure of a metal O-ring seal that can maintain excellent sealing performance with a maximized elastic recovery over extended operation. An evolutionary structural optimization (ESO) was used as a topology optimization algorithm with two different types of objective functions considering both flexibility and stiffness. In particular, a circular design domain was adopted to consider the outer shape of the metal O-ring seal. The elastic recovery of the optimal topology was calculated and compared to that of a commercial product.

  • We present a hybrid method for spectral reflectivity recovery, using 3D extrapolation as a supplemental method for 3D interpolation. The proposed 3D extrapolation is an extended version of 3D interpolation based on the barycentric algorithm. It is faster and more accurate than the conventional spectral-recovery techniques of principal-component analysis and nonnegative matrix transformation. Four different extrapolation techniques (based on nearest neighbors, circumcenters, in-centers, and centroids) are formulated and applied to recover spectral reflectivity. Under the standard conditions of a D65 illuminant and 1964 $10^{\circ}$ observer, all reflectivity data from 1269 Munsell color chips are successfully reconstructed. The superiority of the proposed method is demonstrated using statistical data to compare coefficients of correlation and determination. The proposed hybrid method can be applied for fast and accurate spectral reflectivity recovery in image processing.

  • A patient with squamous cell carcinoma on the left mandible presented with symptoms similar to acute coronary syndrome just after surgery. The exact etiology was unclear, but following transthoracic echocardiogram, takotsubo cardiomyopathy was diagnosed. This is a rare, acute, and reversible form of heart failure, and the patient recovered completely within weeks. Related risk factors are believed to include extended surgery times and extended time under general anesthesia. Early recognition, followed by postoperative control of pain and anxiety are crucial to patient recovery.

  • Minimally invasive strategies are increasingly popular in patients with myasthenia gravis (MG)-associated thymomas. Within the context of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) as a widely known minimally invasive option, the most recent achievement is uniportal subxiphoid VATS. In MG patients, it is mandatory (1) to minimize perioperative interference with administered anesthetics to avoid complications and (2) to achieve a complete surgical resection, as the prognosis essentially depends on radical tumor resection. In order to fulfill these criteria, we merged this surgical technique with its anesthesiologic counterpart: regional anesthesia with the maintenance of spontaneous ventilation via a laryngeal mask. Non-intubated uniportal subxiphoid VATS for extended thymectomy allowed radical thymectomy in all MG patients with both rapid symptom control and fast recovery.

  • This paper proposes an approach to fused navigation of an unmanned surface vehicle(USV) and to detection of the outlier or interference of global positioning system(GPS). The method fuses available sensor measurements through extended Kalman filter(EKF) to find the location and attitude of the USV. The method uses error covariance of EKF for detection of GPS outlier or interference. When outlier or interference of the GPS is detected, the method excludes GPS data from navigation process. The measurements to be fused for the navigation are GPS, acceleration, angular rate, magnetic field, linear velocity, range and bearing to acoustic beacons. The method is tested through simulated data and measurement data produced through ground navigation. The results show that the method detects GPS outlier or interference as well as the GPS recovery, which frees navigation from the problem of GPS abnormality.

  • The present age, it takes an interest in maintenance and preserve of the aged constructive materials cause destruction of environmental reason and a loss of resource. As answering question given to candidates at a civil examination, it is carbonated concrete construction materials to give alkalization agent to seek the plan to be extended durable life. The representative material, it was known for a chemical compound of alkailzation-Silica acid with Lithium and also used on inside and outside the country. But, it is so difficult to decide the effect because the work is to be repeated for a processing of construction. So, in this study, to investigate recovery faculty on a period of incubation that restrain processing of carbonation by impregnation alkalization agent, we were made good progress from basic test through comparative and analysis at laboratory and the spot of construction.
