  • The high speed train service will be offered for high-quality transport service in existing railway by Korean National Railroad(KNR). Therefore, this paper presents the results of analysis carried out to determine the dynamic response characteristics of deck plate girder bridges which are representative elevated structures of existing railway and to evaluate their suitabilities for supporting Korea Train Express(KTX) trainsets in the speed range 0-250 km/h. Their dynamic characteristics are analyzed concerning structural safety, train-operation safety and passenger comfort. The simplified method for 2-dimensional train/track/bridge interaction analysis is utilized in the analysis of dynamic behaviors of deck plate girder bridges.

  • In electric railway, image monitoring using high speed camera provides reliable, timely information of wear and geometry status, important in taking decisions for overhead contact wire maintenance. The contribution of this research is the development of a simple real-time monitoring system for use in measurement subsystem of contact wire and geometry of overhead contact wire in electric railway. The system has been consists of a high speed CMOS camera with resolution $1024{\times}1280$ pixels, line type laser source and PC-based image acquisition system with PCI Express slot. Vision acquisition software have been used in application programming interface for image acquisition, display, and storage with a frequency of sampling of 500 acquisitions per second.

  • Line constants of the catenary system are estimated. The harmonic current that the Korean Train Express (KTX) injects into the catenary is measured to precisely analyze the harmonic effects. The Korean high-speed railway system is modeled by estimated and measured results. The system model is applied for predicting the harmonic effects. The simulation results from the system model are compared to field test data concerning the total harmonic distortion (THD). The reliability of the system model is verified.

철도관제사의 직무요구, 교대근무, 과업환경 및 스트레스 요인이 건강에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Job Demand, Shift, Work Environment and Stressors on the Railway Traffic Controller's Health)

  • This study highlights the main effect of job demand, work shift, work environment and stressors on the railway traffic controller's health, and the moderating effect of work0life balance. The result of empirical analysis based on questionnaires received from 328 traffic controllers working at 10 railway operating companies indicates that job demand, work shift, work environment and stressors have significant effect on their health, among which stressors is a major factor. In the respect of moderating effect, WLB showed no significance except for job demand. This result implies that controller's health can not be enhanced through their individual family or leisure life. Therefore, effective countermeasures and policy to mitigate their health problems and heal their symptoms are urgent.

  • Accumulated deficits resulting from managing the Korean Railroad and debts from the construction of the KTX (Korea Train Express which is a high-speed rail system) have left the Korean Railroad faced with great troubles. Since it changed into a public corporation Korail on January 1st, 2005, the Korea Railroad has been making unceasing efforts to overcome the troubles and improve its management. However, even these efforts haven't worked in the face of the improved conditions of other transportation methods such as better networks of land roads and air ways. The Korea Railroad had its revenue from its railway transportation limited, and has tried to expand its business to non-transportational areas. In some metropolitan cities, the Korea Railroad made investments in real estate by constructing station buildings based on private money. Yet, in small and medium size cities, the Korea Railroad has little particular strategic projects for business development. Recently certain small and medium size regional cities began to plan on business developments for the ex-railway land, and some small towns have developed real estate on the ex-railway land. Nevertheless, there have been no systematic case studies to classify these real estate developments.

가상건설기법에 의한 철도역사 시설물 시공시뮬레이션 기능 구축 (Simulation Function of Railway Station Project by Virtual Construction Technology)

  • 가상건설기법은 공사대상 시설물을 설계부터 시공까지 3차원 가상공간에서 시행하여, 가상건설과정에서 실제 공사의 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 기법이다. 본 연구에서는 철도연사 시설물을 가상건설기법으로 시공하는 방법론을 구축하였으며, 구축된 방법론에 근거하여 실제 시스템을 개발하여 호남고속철도의 역사 시공과정에 적용하여 실무 활용성을 검증하였다. 연구에서는 시퀀스다이어그램을 이용한 방법론을 통해 레이아웃 리뷰, 레이어 시뮬레이션 기능을 구축하였다. 이러한 기능은 건설프로젝트 정의의 이해를 돕고 3D 시뮬레이션의 효과를 증진시킬 수 있다. 이러한 가상건설기법은 철도역사 시설물의 시공단계 검증 도구로서 공정관리 시각화와 시공 적정성 판단 등의 도구로 활용될 수 있다.

  • Discrete Event Simulation은 기존에 생산 분야에서 적용되어지는 이론중의 하나로 생산에서 발생되는 작업을 Event 기반으로 분류하고 각각의 경우를 기초로 Simulation하여 평가하는 기법이다. 철도차량의 중정비는 핵심부품의 정비를 단계별로 세분화하여 이루어지는데 틸팅차량을 포함하는 신형 철도차량의 경우 주요 정비부품이 많은 제어장치와 전자장치로 구성되어 있다 대차의 경우 많은 주요부품이 중복되어 이것을 체계적이며 효율적으로 유지 보수하는 것이 절실한 것이다. 이러한 부품의 상태를 점검하고 평가하는 것은 유지보수에 관련된 인력이 아닌 이와 관련된 분석기계일 것이고 틸팅차량의 경우 다량의 주요 부품에 대한 유지보수기계의 성능의 평가가 요구될 것이다. 본 논문은 이러한 필요성에 기초하여 작성되었다. 우선 Discrete Event Simulation의 개념을 간략히 소개하였고 Discrete Event Simulation의 5단계 알고리즘을 철도차량 유지보수기계 기반으로 수정하였다 그리고 유지보수 요구 조건에 기초하여 Simulation 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 본 논문은 Discrete Event Simulation의 이론을 이전에 적용된 사례가 없는 철도차량유지보수 분야에 소개하여 유지보수 효율의 극대화를 위한 기법을 적용하였으며 향후 철도차량 유지보수관련 기계의 성능 평가 및 적용에 있어 도움이 될 수 있는 참고 자료로 활용 가능할 것이다.

수상운송로로서 한강의 이용가능성에 관한 연구 (On the Availability of Han river as Water Transport Route)

  • Because of the rapid growing traffic volumes of cargo, especially between Seoul and Inchon, and lack of investment into transport infrastructure in the past, in Kyong-in area have suffered from the serious traffic congestion in the public-road and the express-way network, But the further expansion of the traffic volume in near future is difficult due to burden of the higher expansion of the traffic volume in near future is difficult due to burden of the higher construction cost. Although the traffic congestion on the Kyung-in railway, is not very serious comparing with the road sector, the shortage of capacity on some main lines becomes emerged as a problem as railway traffic has increased. Unlike these two modes, the water transport, which has been paid relatively less attention for commodity transport in Kyong-in area, has not any constaint in this respect. Han river has been used as a water transport route in Chosun Dynasty which is called Cho-wun. This paper therefore aims to propose the availability of Han river as the alternative water transportation mode, in order to decrease the congestion between Seoul-Inchon by considering the construction of Kyong-in artificial water channel in near future. In this paper, we investigate the availability of Nanji-do as the physical distribution depot connecting with the circulation express way in the national capital distribution depot connecting with the circulation express way in the national capital. We also estimate the traffic volume by using the push-barge carrier (300DWT) in the same channel through the simulation under some assumptions such as ship's turnaround time, speed, etc.

Pressure Characteristics on Korean High-Speed Railway Acoustic Screen Using 1/61 Scaled-Down Moving Model Rig

  • The experiments for aerodynamic characteristics of railway acoustic screen are performed using 1/61 scaled-down moving model rig facility which employs an axis symmetry and one wire guidance method. The launching mechanism is an air-gun type. The train model for the experiment is the high speed train (Korea Train Express: KTX) and the tested speed is about 300 km/h. The tested train length is 61 em which is corresponding to two units of KTX train. The cross sectional area and weight of train model are 0.00264 $m^2$ and 287 g, respectively. The Reynolds number based on the model train length is $1.2{\times}10^7$. The strength of pressure wave is measured using piezo typed pressure sensor. The measured pick value of pressure was as high as 365 Pa in the shortest gap between the acoustic screen and model train. The measured pressure is well compared with the field test data of mc 779-1 [2] values. However, the experimental data were slightly lower than the mc 779-1 values. The results show the model test can be used as a substitute for the field test.

한국형 틸팅열차 차상신호장치 신뢰성관리에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Reliability Management of Onboard Signaling Equipment for the Korean Tilting Train)

  • 본 논문은 기존선을 고속으로 운행하기 위해 개발된 한국형 틸팅열차 차상신호장치의 신뢰성관리방안에 대한 연구이다. 기존선 자동열차방호(ATP) 및 자동열차정지(ATS)구간을 운행하는 틸팅열차의 안전한 운행을 위해, 선행 열차위치 및 선로환경에 따라 부여된 이동권한 및 제한속도를 기준으로 제동곡선을 생성하여 기관사 실수 및 장애로부터 열차의 안전을 확보하는 차상신호장치의 신뢰성관리방안을 제시한다. 또한 제시된 방안을 기준으로 열차제어시스템의 신뢰도를 예측하고, 검증하는 방안을 국제규격인 IEC 62278(EN 50126)을 기준으로 수행한 사례를 제시한다.
