The purpose of this study is to measure the tube voltage, the tube current/volume, exposure time and exposure dose of diagnostic X-ray unit in each doctor offices, hospitals and general hospitals for evaluating the performance of such device, to learn the method and technology of its measurement and to suggest its importance. Research subjects were total 30 X-ray units and divided into groups of 10 X-ray units each. The tube voltage, the tube current/volume, exposure time and exposure dose were measured using percentage average error, and then reproducibility of exposure dose was measured through calculating coefficient of variation. The results are like followings; The tube voltage correctness examination showed that incongruent devices among total 30 X-ray units were 5 devices (16.7%). The tube current correctness examination showed that incongruent X-ray units were 3 devices (10.0%). The tube current volume correctness examination showed that incongruent X-ray units were 4 devices (13.3%). Finally, according to exposure time correctness examination, incongruent X-ray units were 5 devices (16.7%) and according to reproducibility examination of exposure dose, incongruent X-ray units were 7 devices (23.3%). Above results showed serious problem in performance management based on management regulation of diagnostic X-ray unit; it means that regular checkout and safety management are required, and as doing so, patients will be able to receive good quality of medical service by the reduction of radiation exposure time, image quality administration, unnecessary retake and etc. Therefore, this study suggests that the performance of diagnostic X-ray units should be checked regularly.

A study on the change of mechanical properties and oxidation behavior of Zircaloy-4 fuel cladding after exposing at 90$0^{\circ}C$ and $1000^{\circ}C$ for various periods of exposure time under the steam atmosphere was carried out. The growth of the $ZrO_2$ layer combined with an oxygen-rich-phase layer into the Zircaloy tube material can be described by an expression, E = 1.1√Dt + $2 $\times$ 10^{-4}$ . The tensile strength of Zircaloy tubes increased for a short period of exposure time and decreased rapidly with further exposure while the hoop strength was not decreased greatly. In the meantime, the axial and circumferential elongations of oxidized Zircaloy tubes were decreased drastically with increasing exposure time as a result of embrittlement phenomena.
As the noise of ship engine room is too loud, the engineer who works in a ship engine-room has the trouble of hearing. In this paper deals the investigation of the noise of ship engine room and cabins with the internationally allowable noise exposure level and noise exposure time. Recently, the problem of engine-room noise is more serious because of shipowner wants to make small number and larger size of cylinder. Therefore, engineers work in a ship engine-room for a long time have the trouble of hearing when they are exposed the high noise level. In this study, two kinds of vessels were used to investigate the noise of engine room, engine-control room, bridge, offices and cabins. As criteria of sound levels, A-weighted sound pressure level and octave band pressure level were used.
For exposure systems, very accurate alignment between the mask and the substrate is indispensable. In this paper, an automatic alignment system using machine vision for exposure systems is described. Machine vision algorithms are described in detail including extraction of an alignment mark's center position and camera calibration. Methods for extracting parameters for alignment are also presented with some compensation techniques to reduce alignment time. Our alignment system was implemented with a vision system and motion control stages. The performance of the alignment system has been extensively tested with satisfactory results. The performance evaluation shows alignment accuracy of lum within total alignment time of about $2{\sim}3$ seconds including stage moving time.

Negative staining electron microscopy facilitates the visualization of small bio-materials such as proteins; thus, many electron microscopists have used this conventional method to visualize the morphologies and structures of biological materials. To achieve sufficient contrast of the materials, a number of imaging parameters must be considered. Here, we examined the effects of one of the fundamental imaging parameters, electron beam exposure time, on electron densities generated using transmission electron microscopy. A single site of a negatively stained biological sample was illuminated with the electron beam for different times (1, 2, or 4 seconds) and sets of micrographs were collected. Computational image processing demonstrated that longer exposure times provide better electron densities at the molecular level. This report describes technical procedures for testing parameters that allow enhanced evaluations of the densities of electron microscopy images.

Objectives: This study evaluated the diesel engine exhaust (DEE) exposure levels of door-to-door deliverers in Daegu from July to September. Methods: We measured exposure levels of DEE surrogates for the same door-to-door deliverers who joined the particulate matter 2.5 exposure study previously published in this journal. Black carbon(BC) concentrations were measured using real-time BC monitoring devices with 1 minute interval. $NO_2$ concentrations were monitored using passive badges. DEE exposure data were analyzed using the same characteristics and GPS information as the first study. Results: A total of 40 measurements of BC concentrations and $NO_2$ concentrations were collected during delivery of parcels. The average exposure levels to BC, and $NO_2$ were $2.23{\mu}g/m^3$ ($0.001-350.85{\mu}g/m^3$) and 21.26 ppb(3.3-61.37 ppb), respectively. Exposure levels to BC according to the day of a week and coverage areas were not significantly different(p>0.05). Delivery trucks manufactured before 2006 caused significantly higher exposure to BC than the trucks manufactured after 2006(p<0.05). Exposure levels of BC integrated for each time in residential area and roadsides were $1.96{\mu}g/m^3$ and $3.46{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant(p<0.001). The Pearson correlation coefficients between the ambient $PM_{2.5}$ and BC was significant, r=0.26(p<0.01); however, the correlations between $PM_{2.5}$ and ambient $PM_{2.5}$, and between BC of DEE and $PM_{2.5}$ of DEE did not show a significant correlation Conclusions: BC and $NO_2$ exposure levels were significantly lower when door-to-door deliverers drove newer trucks. BC exposure levels of deliverers were higher in roadsides than in residential area. DEE from nearby vehicles through open windows might be the main source of BC exposure.
Short beam tests of GFRP and CFRP specimens exposed to high temperature were conducted to measure the inter-laminar shear strength. For the phase I test, the exposure time and temperature were varied to measure reduction in the strength due to the applied conditions. As a results, the critical temperature was found to $270^{\circ}C$ for the both FRP reinforcements. The high temperature, which causes 50% loss of inter-laminar shear strength, is defined as the critical temperature in this study. It should be noted that the critical temperature for the inter-laminar shear strength is mainly dependent on resin properties not on fiber type. In the phase II test, the effect of exposure time was investigated at intervals of 0.25hour for the critical temperature. All test results demonstrate that the exposure time effect is not significant compared to the maximum exposure temperature, but it is not negligible and, moreover, is significant at the critical temperature.

Objectives: Time-activity studies have become an integral part of comprehensive exposure assessment and personal exposure modeling. The aims of this study were to estimate exposure levels to nitrogen dioxide($NO_2$) and volatile organic compounds(VOCs), and to compare estimated exposures by using time-activity patterns and indoor air concentrations. Methods: The major microenvironments for office workers were selected using the Time-Use Survey conducted by the National Statistical Office in Korea in 2009. A total of 9,194 and 6,130 workers were recruited for weekdays and weekends, respectively, from the Time-Use Survey. It appears that workers were spending about 50% of their time in the house and about 30% of their time in other indoor areas during the weekdays. In addition, we analyzed the time-activity patterns of 20 office workers and indoor air concentrations in Daegu using a questionnaire and time-activity diary. Estimated exposures were compared with measured concentrations using the time-weighted average analysis of air pollutants. Conclusions: According to the time-activity pattern for the office workers, time spent in the residence indoors during the summer and winter have been shown as $11.12{\pm}2.20$ hours and $12.48{\pm}1.77$ hours, respectively, which indicates higher hours in the winter. Time spent in the office in the summer has been shown to be 1.5 hours higher than in the winter. The target pollutants demonstrate a positive correlation ($R^2=0.076{\sim}0.553$)in the personal exposure results derived from direct measurement and estimated personal exposure concentrations by applying the time activity pattern, as well as measured concentration of the partial environment to the TWA model. However, these correlations were not statistically significant. This may be explained by the difference being caused by other indoor environments, such as a bar, cafe, or diner.

Surface modification of vertically-aligned carbon nanotube (VACNT) is essential in order to meet specific demands for particular applications such as field emission displays, heat dissipation device and potential sun energy conversion due to their superior electrical and thermal conductivity and strong light absorption. In this study, we observe the effect of exposure to water vapor on a different lengths of the surfaces of VACNT. The study was conducted on three different lengths of the VACNT: short length around $200{\mu}m$, medium-length around $500{\mu}m$, and high length around 1 mm. Water exposure time ranges between 2-10 min and temperature of the water ranges from 60 to 120 oC. The result of water vapor exposure mainly show that increasing the exposure time and water temperature give rise to increase of the speed of change on the surface of the VACNT. Especially, the shorter VACNT change their surface morphology most rapidly.

The objective of this survey is to characterize personal magnetic field exposure of the general population in Korea. The participants of the survey on magnetic field exposure were selected randomly in some occupations. The participant wore the magnetic field meter for about 25∼28 hours and the data were stored in the meter. Because this is a preliminary for the main survey, it was done with 36 participants only. For the main survey, about 400 subjects by occupation will be done. The statistics of the 24-hour exposure data are the major concern of this survey However the survey provided the opportunity to analyze exposures corresponding to different types of activities. It was analyzed by separating periods of time corresponding to the following activities: entire 24-hour period, in bed, at work and by occupation.
