We have studied the effect of temperature and exposure time on the UV curing rate of Urethane Acrylate. UV dose has been modulated by changing the electric power, and temperature has been controled by coating rate and water temperature of the coating roll. Curing rate was evaluated by measuring gel fraction of the cured film. It has been found that effect of coating velocity on the gel fraction of the final film is predominant, but role of temperature of the UV chamber is negligible. These observations imply that exposure time of UV light is critical to have a fully cured film. To better understand the effect of design and operating condition of UV coater on the behavior of UV curing of Urethane Acrylate, we have also conducted heat-flux analysis of UV chamber.
The objectives of this research were to determine the effect of sulfur dioxide on the growth and yield reduction of 8 Korean barley cultivars. To achieve these, barley seeds were planted in pots, then those were exposed to 1.0 ppm $SO_2$ for 6 h in a closed-top field chamber at tillering and heading stage. Foliar injury and reduction of culm and awn length were more severe when barley cultivars were exposed to $SO_2$ at tillering stage than those at heading stage. Durubori was most susceptible to $SO_2$ among cultivars tested. However, number of node and length of spike were not affeced by $SO_2$ exposure in ail cultivars. Number of spike, and grains, and weights of 1,000 grains were significantly reduced by $SO_2$ exposure at tillering stage. The reduction rates of yield at tillering stage exposure were 22% and 47% in Dongbori and Durubori, respectively. Dongbori #2 showed the most tolerant to sulfur dioxide among 8 cultivars.
Exposure to fugitive dust can contribute to several respiratory health problems, and proper sampling of fugitive dust is necessary to assess exposure. However, field sampling of soil dust encounters problems from spatial and temporal differences in soil properties, field operations, and meteorological conditions. To minimize these problems, we designed a dust generator that simulates dust generation from soil. The dust generator consisted of a rotating chamber where soil samples were loaded and tumbled, and a settling chamber, where airborne soil dust samples were collected. As standard operating conditions, we decided on 2 g soil mass, 10 min sampling time, and 20 rpm rotating speed, with a flow rate of 30 l/min, based on three common soil textures of loam, sandy loam and silt loam. To evaluate optimal operating conditions, we used mixtures of Joomoonjin silica sand and clay. Although the average $PM_{10}$ concentration of Joomoonjin silica sand was low, dust concentrations were increased by an increased content of clay. The dust concentrations were consistent across repeated experiments, and showed similar concentration profiles during the sampling time with mixtures of clay and sand (coefficient of variation was $13.6{\pm}w;7.1%$). The results demonstrated that these standard operating conditions were suitable for the dust generator, which can be used to investigate variations in soil properties that affect dust production and potential potency of fugitive dust exposure.
This article is designed to look into the radiation exposure dose to each body part and the shielding effect for workers using an additional shielding to reduce their radiation exposured by scattering radiation which is generated in a space between the operating table and lead curtain during interventional radiology(IR) procedures. After placing a human phantom on the table of SIEMENS' angiography machine, the following measurements were taken, depending on the presence of an additional shield of lead equivalent of 0.25 mmPb, manufactured for this purpose: dose to gonad, dose to an area where the personal dosimeter is placed, and dose to an area of eye lens is located. An ion chamber(chamber volume 1,800 cc) was utilized to measure scattering radiation. The two imaging tests were carried out as follows: fluoroscopy of the abdomen (66 kV, 100 mA, 60 seconds) and of the head (70 kV, 65 mA, 60 seconds); and digital subtraction angiography(DSA) of the abdomen (67 kV, 264 mA, 20 seconds) and of the head (79 kV, 300 mA, 20 seconds). In all the experiments, the shielding efficiency of the gonad position was the largest at 59.8%. In case an additional shielding was used as protection against scattering radiation that came through the operating table and the lead curtain during an IR, the radiation shielding efficiency was estimated to be up to 59.8%, leading to a conclusion that its presence may effectively reduce the radiation exposure dose of medical staffs.
We attempted to provide an overview of the laws and current state of the 3D printing industry in South Korea and around the world, using the annual industry surveys and the Wohler report. Additionally, we reviewed articles relating to the potential exposure to hazards associated with 3D printing using metal materials. In South Korea, there were 406 3D printing-related businesses, employing 2,365 workers, and the market size was estimated at 455.9 billion won in 2021. Globally, the average growth rate of the 3D printing industry market over the past 10 years was 27.4%, and the market size was estimated at $11.8 billion in 2019. The United States had the highest cumulative installation ratio of industrial 3D printers, followed by China, Japan, Germany, and South Korea. A total of 6,168 patents related to 3D printing were registered in the US between 2010 and 2019. Harmful factors during metal 3D printing was mainly evaluated in the powder bed fusion and direct energy deposition printing types, and there is a case of material extrusion type with metal additive filaments. The number, mass, size distribution, and chemical composition of particles were mainly evaluated. Particle concentration increases during the opening of the chamber or post-processing. However, operating the 3D printer in a ventilated chamber can reduce particle concentration to the background level. In order to have a safe and healthy environment for 3D printing, it is necessary to accumulate and apply knowledge through various studies.

Indoor air differs from outdoor atmosphere since it contains chemical and physical contaminants from building materials. This study deals with the biological effects of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released from synthetic fiber carpet materials. One group of Tradescantia inflorescence was exposed to VOCs from the carpet sample in the environmental test chamber, while the other inflorescence group was exposed to a TO-14 standard gas mixture (1 ppm) for comparison. After the exposure, VOCs from the carpet were analysed by the desorber/GC/MS method, and micronuclei in the pollen mother cells of Tradescantia were scored under a microscope $({\times}400)$ to evaluate the genotocixicity induced by the exposure to VOCs. The chemical analysis confirmed that a total of 12 VOCs were released from the carpet materials, among which stylene $(71.9{\mu}g\;m^{-3})$ and toluene $(49.6{\mu}g\;m^{-3})$ were in the highest concentration. Twenty four hours of exposure to VOCs from the carpet in the environmental test chamber resulted in a micronucleus frequency as high as $7.73{\pm}0.75MCN$ per 100 tetrads, which was similar to that induced after exposure to the TO-14 standard gas mixture (1 ppm) for 4 hours. Meanwhile, two hours of exposure to the standard gas mixture did not cause a significant increase in the genotoxicity compared to the spontaneous micronucleus frequency. This result indicates that exposure for a long time to the air contaminated with VOCs from the carpet materials causes a genotoxic effect. The biological-chemical combination analyses in the study proved to be an effective tool for monitoring the indoor air contaminants.

The increasing use of mobile phones has raised public concern about the possible biological effects of radiofrequency electromagnetic field (RF-EMF) exposure on the human brain. To investigate the potential effect of RF-EMF exposure on the brain, we examined the behaviors and hippocampal morphology of C57BL/6 mice after sub-chronic exposure to RF-EMFs with a relatively high SAR level (5.0 W/kg). We applied a 2-hour daily exposure of WCDMA 1,950 MHz using a reverberation chamber that was designed for whole-body exposure for 60 days. In the behavioral tests, RF-EMF did not alter the physical activity or long-term memory of mice. Moreover, no alteration was found in the neuronal and glial cells in the hippocampus by RF-EMFs. In this study, we showed that sub-chronic whole body RF exposure did not produce memory impairment and hippocampal morphological alteration in C57BL/6 mice.
This study focused on effects of patient exposure dose reduction with AEC (Auto Exposure Control) marker that is designed for showing location of AEC in X-ray Chest radiography. It included 880 adults who have to use Chest X-ray Digital Radiography system (DRS, LISTEM, Korea). AEC (Ion chambers are posited in top of both sides) are used to every adult and set X-ray system as Field size $17{\times}17inch$, 120kVp, FFD 180cm. 440 people of control group are posited on detector to include both sides of lung field and the other 440 people of experimental group are set to contact their lung directly to Ion chamber (making marker to shows location). Then, measured every DAP and, estimated patient effective dose by using PCXMC 2.0. The average age of control group (M:F=245:195) is 53.9 and the average BMI is 23.4. BMI ranges from under weight: 35, normal range: 279, over weight: 106 to obese: 20 and average DAP is 223.56mGycm2, Mean effective dose is 0.045mSv. The average age of experimental group (M:F=197:243) is 53.7 and the average BMI is 22.7. BMI ranges from under weight: 34, normal range: 315, over weight: 85 to obese: 6 and average DAP is 207.36mGycm2, Mean effective dose is 0.041mSv. Experimental group shows less Mean effective dose as 0.004mSv (9.7%) than control group. Also, patient numbers who got over exposure more than 0.056mSv (limit point to know efficiency of AEC marker) is 65 in control group (14.7%), 19 in experimental group (4.3%) and take statistics with t-Test. The statistical difference between two groups is 0.006. In order to use proper amount of X-ray in auto exposure controlled chest X-ray system, matching location between ion chamber and body part is needed, and using AEC marker (designed for showing location of ion chamber) is a way to reduce unnecessary patient exposure dose.

The objective of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the concrete mixture and the plastic shrinkage of concrete exposed to a rapid evaporation immediately after placement, and to measure the shringkage rate according to the cement-mixture. Drying of concrete was conducted under a controlled chamber in which the temperature was 36${\pm}$2$^{\circ}C$, the relative humidity 45${\pm}$2%, and the wind velocity 4${\pm}$1m/sec. All of the concrete mo1ds were made to have good workability as 6${\pm}$0.5cm in slump. The results obtained are as follows; 1) The evaporation rate was 3.36kg/$\textrm{km}^2$, 2.98kg/$\textrm{km}^2$ and 2.91kg/$\textrm{km}^2$ respectively for each concretemixtures 365kg, 335kg and 317kg after 5 hour exposure, and the evaporation was measured at all 55∼57% after 2 hours and additional in 10% on after 5 hours exposure. 2) The weight of the concrete were was reduced to 3.0%, 2.6% and 2.4% respectively for each of them. 3) The shrinkage of concrete was 0.87 mm/m, 0.56mm/m and 0.31 mm/m after 5 hour exposure, and the shringkage of concrete was measured at 84%, 59% and 45% after 2 hours and it in 1∼5% after 5 hour exposure and then stopped. 4) A recommendation for good concrete is that the evaporation should be minimized during 2 hours after placement of concrete, if possible.
In this work, EPM (effective point of measurement) of parallel plate ionization chamber with three different spacing were investigated. If the plate separation is less than 2 mm one generally assumes that the effective point of measurement is just behind the front window of the parallel plate ionization chamber. For chamber with relatively large separation, such as the ones used for very accurate exposure measurements, this assumption breaks down and the EPM depends on plate separation and thickness of the front window. For parallel plate chambers, conventional theoretical analyses suggest that the EPM is the inner front wall and that it shifts towards the geometric centre of the chamber as the plate separation increases. The PP-IC (parallel plate ionization chamber) is fabricated using acrylic plate for the chamber medium and printed circuit board for electrical configuration. The various sizes of the sensitive volumes designed so far are 0.9, 1.9, and 3.1 cc. The gap between two electrodes ranges from 3, 6, and 10mm. Also the charge-to-voltage converter is designed to collect the electrons produced in the ionization chamber cavity. As the result of our experiment, the EPM shift was within 0.6 mm in photon beams and 0.4 mm to 2.5 mm in electron beams for the plate separation of 6 mm and 10 mm. EPM shifts towards the geometric center of the chamber as the plate separation increases.
