Software Development for Auto-Generation of Interlocking Knowledgebase Using Artificial Intelligence Approach (인공지능기법에 근거한 철도 전자연동장치의 연동 지식베이스 자동구축 S/W 개발)

  • This paper proposes IIKBAG(Intelligent Interlocking Knowledge Base Generator) which can build automatically the interlocking knowledge base utilized as the real-time interlocking strategy of the electronic interlocking system in order to enhance it's reliability and expansion. The IIKBAG consists of the inference engine and the knowledge base. The former has an auto-learning function which searches all the train routes for the given station model based on heuristic search technique while dynamically searching the model, and then generates automatically the interlocking patterns obtained from the interlocking relations of signal facilities on the routes. The latter is designed as the structure which the real-time expert system embedded on IS(Interlocking System) can use directly in order to enhances the reliability and accuracy. The IIKBAG is implemented in C computer language for the purpose of the build and interface of the station structure database. And, a typical station model is simulated to prove the validity of the proposed IIKBAG.

  • A novel control method involving an automatic tuning of digital PID controller parameters has been developed for better regulation of DO (dissolved oxygen) concentration in batch fermentation processes. Heuristic reasoning allows the PID controller to reach improved tuning decisions based upon the supervision of certain control performance indices in the same cognitive manner as in an expert control.

  • Ocassionally, many chemical plants experienced unexpected shutdown and suffered serious economic loss caused by boiler accidents due to mis-operations during the start-up or shutdown. A strategy to prevent such accidents is proposed here by using the form of frame for the recognition of all needed conditions, i.e., the states of the boiler, hazardous or dangerous conditions, each level conditions, transition network and heuristic knowledge of human operators. The expert system based on this strategy is considered to be an available method to predict all of the hazardous conditions in boiler plants.

  • This paper demonstrates an AI application for representing operator's heuristic knowledges in implementing process control. AI controller constitutes servo and regulatory controller, respectively. The knowledge base for servo controller was designed to obtain the process output with respect to the desired set-point in short period. The regulatory controller was to provide smooth output near the set-point. The AI controllers was implemented in Turbo-PROLOG on IBM-PC. For the parallel processing, Turbo-C was linked to calculate the process output. The result shows that this AI controller can be well suited not only for minimum phase but also for non-minimum phase. This controller may be used as a back-up controller for rather extensive expert system.

  • When a fault occurs on distribution network. blackout region may happen, then it should be restored as fast as possible to minimize interruption of electric service. In this paper. A near optimal method to restore distribution network is proposed. For an optimal restoration, the number or switching operations must be minimized. The proposed method generates a general restoration plan for any distribution network fault and designed to reduce switching operations considering available load transfers. In this method overall process time can reduce with heuristic rules, which make a reduction of search space before restoration process. To achieve a near optimal solution, multiple load transfer algorithm is proposed too.

  • This paper proposes the systematic auto-tuning method for fuzzy controller using genetic algorithm(GA). In general, the design of fuzzy logic controller has difficulties in the acquisition of expert's knowledge and relies to a great extent on heuristic knowledge which, in many cases, cannot be objectively justified. So, the performance of the controller can be degraded in the case of plant parameter variations or unpredictable incident which the designer may have ignored. Proposed genetic algorithm searches the optimal rule structure, parameters of membership functions and scaling factors simultaneously and automatically by a new genetic coding format. Inverted pendrum system is provided to show the advantages of the proposed method.

So, This study is purposed to find that a method for recognition of working-career on the national technical qualification system According to, this study is designed to questionnaire with BSC(Balaced ScoreCard), SEM(Structure Equation Model) with the delphi method, and is analysed using the AMOS 7.0 program package. Finally, This study is suggested growing to qualification standard for an examination a degree of master craftsman only under the change of national qualification systematization as a standard to operation and control.

  • A methodology for developing an object description system based on functional-structure of chemical plant is proposed. A knowledge base for chemical plant fault diagnosis is also organized in a generic fashion using the heuristic knowledge of human operators. A plant can be seen as a hierarchical set of subsystems. Each subsystem is called a SCOPE. The state of the plant and the behavior of each subsystem is managed by the SCOPES. A computer-based system based on thls methodology and knowledge base has been developed and applied to the subprocess of ethylene plant to evaluate the effectiveness of the methodology.

  • This paper designs, in the teleoperation task, the world coordinate system by the functional analysis of each of the robot joint so that the human operator performs easily the task. Also, it constructs the heuristic rules of the equal motion line coordinates for the position and the posture control of the robot within the knowledge base so that the robot hand reaches-possibly in any position of the robot's work space. As shown in the result of the experiments. the coordinate reading is easy because the work station is displayed to the high resolution by using the superimposer of the motion analysing computer system. Also. the task burden of the human operator reduces and the error recovery time reduces because the coordinates of the object is obtained just by touch using the digitizer.

  • During the operation of crane system in container yard, the objective is to transport the load to a goal position as quick as possible without rope oscillation. The container crane is generally operated by an expert operator, but recently an automatic control system with high speed and rapid transportation is required. Therefore, we developed an optimal controller which has to control the crane system with disturbances. In this paper, we present a design of optima 2-DOF PID controller for the control of gantry crane which has to control swing motion and trolley position. We used evolution strategy(ES) to tune the parameters of 2-DOF PID controller. It was compared with general PID controller. The computer simulations show that the proposed method has better performances than the other method.
