불균형 휨모멘트를 받는 플랫플레이트-기둥 접합부의 편심전단강도 (Strength Model for Eccentric Shear of Flat Plate-Column Connections under Unbalanced Moment)

  • 불균형 휨모멘트를 재하받는 플랫플레이트-기둥 접합부의 편심전단강도와 모멘트강도를 규명하기 위해 그동안 많은 실험연구가 수행되어 왔다. 기존 실험들은 서로 다른 실험방식을 사용하고 있는데, 접합부의 전단강도는 실험방식에 따라 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 기존 실험에 근거하여 개발된 현행 설계기준들은 플랫플레이트의 강도를 정확히 설명하고 있지 못한 실정이다. 선행 연구에서는 연속 플랫플레이트에 대한 비선형 유한요소해석에 근거하여, 슬래브-기둥 접합부에 패한 새로운 설계방법을 개발하였다. 그러나 제안된 설계방법에서는 휨모멘트 강도산정에 필요한 접합부 편심강도를 경험식에 의존하여 산정하고 있다. 본 연구에서는, 접합부 파괴 메카니즘을 분석하기 위해서, Rankine 재료파괴기준을 이용하는 이론적인 접근법을 채택하였다. 분석결과에 근거하여 개선된 편심전단강도모델이 개발되었고, 기존 실험과의 비교를 통해 검증되었다. 개발된 강도식을 이용하여, 선행연구에서 개발된 설계방법을 재검증하였다.

햅틱 기반 정맥주사 시뮬레이터를 위한 생체조직 바늘 삽입력 (Needle Insertion Force of Biological Soft Tissue for Haptic based Intravenous Injection Simulator)

  • Haptics and virtual reality are rapidly growing technologies in medical fields. Physicians and nurses can benefit from medical simulation via training and acquire surgical and clinical techniques. In this paper, the research on needle insertion force of biological tissue for haptic based intravenous injection simulator was carried out. We built the setup for needle insertion (intravenous injection) experiments and performed the experiments on live pigs. The force responses against needle insertion were measured using the experimental setup. In addition, the modeling of needle insertion force was carried out with the experimental results and numerical models via nonlinear least-squares method. The results presented in this paper indicate that the developed models can be applied not only to estimate the force feedback during intravenous injection procedure but also to improve the overall training quality of the medical simulator.

  • 강유전체, 압전체 및 전왜 재료의 전기-기계적 반응의 기본 원리를 이해하기 위해 전기장 인가에 따른 변형 측정법은 널리 사용되고 있다. 특히, 전기 자극에 반응하는 압전 재료의 변형 특성을 이해하는 것은 압전 액츄에이터, 음향 장치, 초음파 발생기와 같은 부품을 연구하고 개발하는 데 중요하다. 이 튜토리얼 논문에서는 다양한 산업 분야에서 널리 사용되는 변위 측정 장치인 선형 가변 차동 변환기(linear variable differential transducer, LVDT)의 구성 요소와 작동 원리를 소개한다. 또한 전기장을 인가하여 강유전체, 압전체 또는 전왜 재료의 변형 특성을 측정하기 위해 LVDT를 사용하는 실험 장치의 구성을 소개한다. 그리고 이 논문에는 LVDT 실험 장치를 통해 얻은 간단한 측정 결과와 분석이 포함되어 있어서 다양한 재료의 전기-기계 상호 작용 연구 방법에 대해 유용한 정보를 제공한다.

  • KAERI has developed a KALIMER-600 which is a pool-type sodium-cooled fast reactor with a 600MWe electric generation capacity. For a SFR development, one of the main topics is an enhancement of the reactor system safety. Therefore, we have a long-term plan to design the large sodium experimental facility to evaluate the reactor safety and component performance. In order to extrapolate a thermal hydraulic phenomena in a large sodium reactor, the thermal hydraulics phenomena is under investigation in a 1/$10^{th}$ water-simulant facility for the KALIMER-600. In this paper, we shortly described the experimental facility setup and the measurement of the isothermal global flow behavior. For the flow field measurement, the PIV method was used in a transparent Plexiglas reactor vessel model at around $20^{\circ}C$ water condition.

  • This paper presents a dynamic, electric-thermal model for a photovoltaic (PV) cell that combines electrical and thermal parameters. In this model, the irradiance and ambient temperature are used to calculate the PV cell temperature based on a five-layer thermal model. The cell temperature is then used in the electrical model to accurately adjust the PV cell output electrical characteristics and power. A custom experimental setup was built to test and verify the electrical and thermal characteristics of the PV cell and its surrounding layers. The electric-thermal model is validated using experimental data in realistic scenarios. This PV model can be scaled up and used to simulate PV systems in wide variety of applications, extreme environmental conditions, and fault conditions in real-time.

  • This work presents experimental results of filter media test by using particles from $0.02\;to\;0.6{\mu}m$ in diameter and by applying different charging states. In order to investigate the electret filter performance, the collection efficiency and the pressure drop of filter were measured. The face velocities of test filters varied from 2.4 to 20.4 cm/s. Another experiment setup for the cartridge cabin air filter was used to get an collection efficiency in submicron region. After charging level of electret filter severely decreased, the change of collection efficiency was verified. Experimental results show that the reliability of electret filters can be poor in some conditions.

고체 추진제어의 소화특성 연구 (Experimental Study on the Extinction Characteristics of the Solid Properllant)

  • 본 논문에서는 고체 추진제의 소화특성을 실험적으로 연구하는 방법에 대해 다루었다. 고체 추진제의 소화특성은 고체 추진기관의 TCO 시스템을 설계하는 기본 자료로 사용된다. 추진제의 소화특성을 정량적으로 밝히기 위해 이 현상에 대한 물리적 고찰을 통해 파라미터를 정의하고, 이를 획득 할 수 있는 실험장치를 설계하였다. 또한. 이 장치를 통해 HTBP 추진제의 연소시험을 진행하여 예비 데이터를 획득할 수 있었으며, 이를 분석하여 소화 특성에 관한 파라미터를 계산할 수 있었다.

Performance Improvement of a 6-Axis Force-torque Sensor via Novel Electronics and Cross-shaped Double-hole Structure

  • Performance of a force-torque sensor is affected significantly by an error signal that is included in the sensor signal. The error sources may be classified mainly into two categories: one is a structural error due to inaccuracy of sensor body, and the other is a noise signal existing in sensed information. This paper presents a principle of 6-axis force-torque sensor briefly, a double-hole structure to be able to improve a structural error, and then a signal conditioning to reduce the effect of a noise signal. The validity of the proposed method is investigated through experimental study, which shows that SIN ratio is improved significantly in our experimental setup, and the sensor can be implemented cheaply with reasonable performance.

KALIMER 고온풀 자유액면 거동 해석 (Analysis of free surface motions in the hoot Pool of KALIMER)

  • An analytic methodology was developed for free surface motions between liquid metal coolant and cover gas in order to calculate the phenomena of gas entrainment in hot pool surface through IHX EMP and reactor core. The methodology was setup by applying the first order VOF convection model to CFX4 general purpose fluid dynamics analysis code. The methodology was validated by applying it to an experimental apparatus designed for free surface motions of KALIMER reactor. The distributions of free surface calculated by the present methodology were almost coincident with the experimental data. The developed methodology was applied to the KALIMER reactor of full power operating condition. The shapes of the free surface were nearly uniform. From the results, it was found that the altitude of the free surface from the IHX inlet nozzle of KALIMER reactor is high enough not to affect to free surface motions of generating gas bubbles from the turbulent shear flows such as hydraulic jump and water falls.

직물 복합재료의 물성치 특성화 기법 및 실험적 계측 (Material Property Characterization Method and Experimental Measurement of the Effective Thermal Conductivities of Woven Fabric Composite Materials)

  • In general, laminate effective orthotropic thermal conductivities are dependent on fiber and matrix material properties, fiber volume fraction and fabric geometric parameters. This paper deals with the predicting method of the transverse and the in-plane thermal conductivities of plain weave fabric composites based on the three dimensional series-parallel thermal resistance network. Thermal resistance network was applied to unit cell model that characterizes the periodically repeated pattern of plain weave. Also, an experiment apparatus is setup to measure the thermal conductivities of composite material. The numerical and experimental results of carbon/epoxy plain weave are compared.
