PV simulators are essential equipment for testing power conditioning systems (PCS) which are one of an important part in PV generator systems, for testing before shipment. High dynamic PV simulator is required since MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) test procedure has been established by EN50530 regulation recently. Most high quality PV simulator prevailed in the market is linear type which however has low efficiency. This paper proposes design guide lines for the power stage and LCL type filter cooperating with a switching mode PV simulator that shows high efficiency and very low power consumption. Proposed theory is verified by experiment.
KARI studied data interface of Space Applications for developing Space Experimental Instrument in International Space Station, designed, and manufactured the UDIS (International Space Station Universal Data Interface simulator) according to requirements of the data interface. This paper explains the design and implementation of UDIS for space application. UDIS is the instrument which simulate to interface the data from ISS to experiment module, payload and habitation module and use the development of a experiment system in the space. This simulator will be used to the GSE (Ground Support Equipment) for test of experiment system. By realization of the simulator, we ensure data interface skills for a manned-space data communication system.

Vehicle evaluation is performed on the proving ground, and durability test and dynamic test cost lots of money and time. Doing replace real vehicle experiment with similar experiment environment, it will take us much more useful advantages. Suspension simulator is required the robust and high-reliability and used widely. But it's natural of high-leveled control technique to manage to be fitted fluid system's property and complex that is for the lack of self-damping, nonlinearity, compressibility. In designing and evaluating simulator, it is important to understand the capability of kinematic and static performances. In this paper, an kinematic modeling and analysis has been presented using ADAMS to design that can reproduce longitudinal, lateral, and vertical force.
The dynamic stability of railway vehicle has been one of the important issues in railway safety. The dynamic simulator has been used in the study about the dynamic stability of railway vehicle and wheel/rail interface. Especially, a small scale simulator has been widely used in the fundamental study in the laboratory instead of full scale roller rig which is not cost effective and inconvenient to achieve diverse design parameters. But the technique for the design of the small scale simulator for the fundamental study about the dynamic characteristics of the wheel-rail system and the bogie system has not been well developed in Korea. Therefore, the research about the development of the small scale simulator and the bogie has been conducted. As this paper, To predict the dynamic behavior of railway vehicle, we studied running stability test of 1/5 scaled bogie that similarity laws is applied using small scale derailment simulator. For the operation of the small scale derailment simulator, it is required to investigate the performance and characteristics of the system. This could be achieved by a comparative study between an analysis and an experiment. This paper presented the analytical model which could be used for verifying of the test results and understanding of the physical behavior of the dynamic system comprising the small scale bogie and the simulator.

Ship handling simulator is a virtual ship navigating system with three dimensional screen system and simulation programs. FTS simulation can produce theoretically infinite experiment tests without time constraint, but which results in collecting determinstic observations. RTS simulation can collect statistical observations but has disadvantage of spending at least 30 minutes for a single experiment. The previous studies suggested that the number of experiment conditions to be tested could be reduced to obtain random data with RTS simulation by focusing on highly difficult experiment condition for ship handling. It has the limitation of not estimating the distribution of ship handling difficulty for the route. In this paper, similarity and clustering analysis are suggested for reduction methodology of experiment conditions. Similarity of experiment conditions are measured as follows: euclidean distance of ship handling difficulty index and correlation matrix of distance differences from the designed route. Clustering analysis and multi-dimensional scaling are applied to classify experiment conditions with measured similarity into reducing the number of RTS simulation conditions. An empirical result on Dangin harbor is shown and discussed.

This paper develops a master manipulator which can reflect a force from a slave manipulator effectively. It many have a big workspace, can represent a human operators manipulation perfectly, and is composed of a position control part, an orientation control part and an end effector control part. This paper also develops a graphic simulator using the Visual C++ and OpenGL in the Window operating system. It can be used to make a virtual slave manipulator and set a virtual working environment, and provide a visual information from a desired view point. A virtual teleoperation system is developed by connecting the developed master manipulator to the graphic simulator using an interfacing hardware bilaterally. It is used for performing a virtual object exploration experiment. In the experiment, two virtual objects are used. They are virtual wall and virtual hexahedron which have 0.7N/mm and 2.2 N/mm stiffness respectively. The experiments are performed under six different working conditions. The experiment results will show the effectiveness of the reflected force from the slave manipulator for improving the efficiency and stability of the teleoperation task.

The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate ground-based experiment for the attitude control of spacecraft. A two-axis rotational simulator with a flexible ann is constructed with on-off air thrusters as actuators. The simulator is also equipped with payload pointing capability by simultaneous thruster and DC servo motor actuation. The azimuth angle is controlled by on-off thruster command while the payload elevation angle is controlled by a servo-motor. A thruster modulation technique PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) employing a time-optimal switching function plus integral error control is proposed. An optical camera is used for the purpose of pointing as well as on-board rate sensor calibration. Attitude control performance based upon the new closed-loop control law is demonstrated by ground experiment. The modified switching function turns out to be effective with improved pointing performance under external disturbance. The rate sensor calibration technique by Kalman Filter algorithm led to reduction of attitude error caused by the bias in the rate sensor output.
Control algorithms and implementation issues for a wind turbine simulator are presented for realistic emulation of variable wind characteristics using a lab-scale motor and generator set. When the average wind speed nd turbulence level is given, the torque reference of prime mover is decided through various blocks, such as random wind speed generator, blade characteristic curves, and tower effect compensation. The variable nature of wind can be implemented and tested by not only the computer simulation but also the hardware-in-loop-simulator (HILS). Some application examples of HILS include the development and test of turbine control software for more efficient and stable operation. Feasibility of the proposed simulator has verified by computer simulations and experiment.

This study describes the research contents, strategies, and applications of simulator for measuring and evaluating human sensibility. The simulator is the integrated experiment facility which can change the physical environment artificially to measure and grasp the reaction feature of human sensibility for the products and environments. The design technique consists of two parts; development of technique to present the mock environment related to sensibility elements and development of software to measure and evaluate sensibility physiologically and psychologically. The simulator can be utilized for evaluating the main industrial products and environments. Therefore, the simulator can increase the added-value of the product and environment, and also contribute to the improvement of quality of human life.

The study is to develop a foundation design for a railway vehicle simulator using a scaled model. Although a scaled simulator is limited to manipulate the dynamics of a full-size railway vehicle, it has been known to have an advantage, since a scaled model could provide the fundamental dynamic behavior within a limited space of a laboratory facility and with a low operation cost while an experiment is conducted. This study is to propose a design strategy for a simulator so that a small scaled roller rig could be fabricated in a laboratory based on the design philosophy. The data obtained from the scale model is also experimentally investigated in conjunction with appropriate non-dimensional analysis so that the output results should be interpreted to the railway vehicle.
