스터얼링 기관의 근사 출력 계산법 (An Approximate Analysis Method to Predict Power Output Characteristics of Stilting Engine)

  • A fast and inexpensive approximate analysis method to predict power output characteristics of the Stilting engines in a preliminary design stage was investigated. In basic equations proposed by Walker, typical temperatures of working fluids in expansion and compression spaces were treated as those of working fluids in heater and cooler respectively. While the temperature of working fluid in the expansion space was actually lower than that of working fluid in the heater, the temperature of working fluid in the compression space was higher than that of working fluids in the cooler. In this paper, the working fluid temperature of expansion space was treated as lower than the heater temperature and that of compression space was treated as higher than the cooler temperature. Also, according to them, the power output characteristics of the Stirling engine were evaluated with respect to the GPU-3 and 4-215 Stilting engines. The following conclusions were drawn from the analysis. 1. Using the available experimental data from the GPU-3 Stirling engine, it was shown that the approximate analysis predicts the brake power with a maximum error of 19 percent at 1, 000rpm and with a minimum error of 3 percent at 2, 000rpm. 2. The approximate analysis data which for the GPU-3 Stirling engine were much closer to the experimental data than those of adiabatic 2nd order and 3rd order analysis within 1, 500rpm to 2, 500rpm. 3. The approximate analysis data which for the GPU-3 and 4-215 Stilting engines were much closer to the experimental data than those of the Beal number analysis.

  • The forms made by repeated arrangements of basic units defined as Simulakre are recomposed into organic, geometric or multi-functional forms by diverse combinations and arrangements and the space expanded by reiterated compositions will have the meaning of active space expansions representing speeds, rhythms or time by reiterations instead of a limited and fixed place shown by a work. The module design that can create new roles and functions of spaces that are variability and fluidity and that can be assembled and transformed into the shapes, sizes and functions desired by users will be analyzed applying the concepts of reiteration and expansion. The module designs emerging in 21th century are in diverse organic forms and geometric forms and their methods for expansion are also diversified. And instead of having a function, they have diverse functions such as storages, partitions, walls, curtains and soundproofing. The development of module designs are first to satisfy the diversified needs, individualities and desires to posses of modem people and second the development, finding and application of new materials. In the future spaces that will continuously develop and will be nomadic, the flexible and individualized module designs will become more diversified and will have their significances.

  • 지반침하 지역의 지표침하량은 지하 채굴적의 높이보다 작은 것으로 분석되고 있다. 이러한 원인은 암반의 부피팽창률이며 아직까지 이에 대한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 부피팽창률 산정을 위해 3차원 입체 모델을 이용하여 지표침하량과 침하영향범위를 고려한 이론식을 유도하였다. 또한 수치해석 시 부피 팽창률의 적용성 검토를 위하여 개별요소 프로그램인 UDEC(Universal Distinct Element Code)을 이용하여 측압계수의 변화에 따른 지표침하의 변화 양상과 점착력의 변화에 따른 부피팽창률의 변화 양상을 분석하였다.

Symbiotic Framework for Campus Core and Modern Expansion A Case Study of Princeton University Campus, Princeton USA

  • Campus core is an essential element in a university's physical environment for symbolic importance of high educational philosophy as well as hierarchical significance of campus structure. Yet, as modern expansion develops into and out of campus core, a challenging design and planning problem for a growing university is how to integrate a new development into the existing core structure and how to expand the fast-growing development beyond the core while maintaining a symbiotic harmony between the campus core and the modern expansion. Such challenge addresses four design frameworks for symbiotic development of the campus core and the modern expansion: (1) building grouping with territorial proximity; (2) building design rules for form and texture; (3) open space network with pedestrian walkway; (4) use-programming for on-campus student community. This study aims to explore these issues with in-depth case study of the Princeton University campus in Princeton, New Jersey in the United States. The study concludes that the Princeton campus is a result from successful synthesis of all the complex design elements, especially in relationship between the old and the new; and adds further that the development of a modern university campus requires a comprehensive plan that takes into account the older buildings when conceiving the new in symbiotic relationship along with open space network as well as functional program distribution.

Cascading Citation Expansion

  • Digital Science's Dimensions is envisaged as a next-generation research and discovery platform for more efficient access to cross-referenced scholarly publications, grants, patents, and clinical trials. As a new addition to the growing open citation resources, it offers opportunities that may benefit a wide variety of stakeholders of scientific publications, from researchers and policy makers to the general public. In this article, we explore and demonstrate some of the practical potentials in terms of cascading citation expansions. Given a set of publications, the cascading citation expansion process can be iteratively applied to a set of articles so as to extend the coverage to more and more relevant articles through citation links. Although the conceptual origin can be traced back to Garfield's citation indexing, it has been largely limited, until recently, to the few who have unrestricted access to a citation database that is large enough to sustain such iterative expansions. Building on the open application program interface of Dimensions, we integrate cascading citation expansion functions in CiteSpace and demonstrate how one may benefit from these new capabilities. In conclusion, cascading citation expansion has the potential to improve our understanding of the structure and dynamics of scientific knowledge.

임대주택단지 주차공간확충 방안 연구 (A Study on Expansion for the Parking Space of Rental Housing Complexes)

  • The purpose of this study is just for parking shall identify the status of the lack of rental apartments to relieve parking shortages. Next performed, and subsequent utilization of space just outside the parking space expansion plan is to present an alternative. Analysis of the study only 30 of the direction of the plan and set standards according to the nature of each complex. Planned urban planning aspects and architectural aspects of a parking space that can expand and classify the types of features will be discussed. Suggestions on how to take advantage of the parking space that can expand only in state owned lands in the urban planning aspects. The Architectural Planning of the side lot line change in the space and change the use of the Common Service Facilities or just to change the internal road system, by changing the way of parking, secure parking space. This way of working to improve the environment of the complex, at least. Actually just the space of improvement to be made with the opinion of the residents and the surrounding areas of the business association, must be preceded by a feasibility study.

앙리 시리아니의 4 Logements Studio를 통한 사선적 공간확장성에 대한 연구 (A Study on oblique spatial expansion through Henry Ciriani's 4 Logements Studio)

  • 건축의 본질은 건축가의 설계행위에 대한 결과로서 획득되는 공간이지만, 정작 설계의 대상은 공간이 아니라 그것을 구축하기 위한 물리적 요소들이다. 근대건축의 거장들이 이 요소들로 구성이 가능한 공간의 유형들은 기술하였지만, 그 구성방법에 대해서는 언급하지 않았다는데 공간구축의 어려움이 존재한다. 이러한 관점에서 건축이 인간 행위를 담는 기술이며 공간을 구축하는 예술이라면, 그 실체가 모호한 공간을 구축하는 방법에 대한 구체적인 연구의 필요성이 인식된다. 그러므로 Neo Corbusian의 대표적인 건축가인 Henri Ciriani의 '4 Logements Studio'를 통하여 사선적인 공간의 확장성에 대한 연구를 진행하였다. 공간의 확장성을 구현하는 방법으로는 시리아니가 제시한 '일체화를 위한 네트워크'방법에 대하여 고찰하였으며, 가구는 건축공간읽기의 요소로 디자인되어야 하는 점과 등가성 채광 조망 공동체의 삶을 기준으로 4개의 주거배치에 대한 3개의 최적 대안을 도출하였다.

코안다 효과를 이용한 제트 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Jet Characteristic using a Coanda Effect in a Constant Expansion Rate Nozzle)

  • 코안다 효과를 유발시키기 위해 환상 슬릿과 팽창률이 일정하지 않은 축소 노즐로부터 분사되는 제트의 구조와 환상의 슬릿과 팽창률이 일정한 노즐로부터 분사되는 제트의 구조를 비교 연구하였다. 실험에 있어서 노즐 입구와 출구 직경을 각각 40mm, 20mm로 하였고, 노즐 출구 평균 속도를 90m/s로 하였다. 3축 이송 장치와 스캐닝 밸브 시스템을 이용하여 제트 축 및 반경 방향 압력을 측정하고, 측정된 정압 및 전압으로부터 구한 속도 분포를 비교 검토하였다. 안정성과 수속성이 우수한 제트를 얻기 위해서는 팽창률이 일정하지 않은 노즐보다 팽창률이 일정한 축소 노즐과 환상의 슬릿을 통해 코안다 효과를 이용하여 분사하는 것이 효과적임을 밝혔다. 또한 팽창에 따른 압력 강하도 팽창률이 일정한 노즐의 경우가 상대적으로 더 작게 됨을 알았다.

홀 확장 잔류응력하의 피로특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fatigue Characteristics under Residual Stress by Cold Expansion)

  • 홀 확장법은 홀 주위에 압축 잔류응력을 생성시켜 홀에서의 균열발생을 지연시키고 피로수명을 향상시키기 위한 효과적인 방법이다. 여러 연구들이 이러한 이로운 효과에 초점을 맞추어 온 반면, 홀 확장 잔류응력이 존재하는 홀 쪽으로 성장해 가는 균열의 피로균열 성장에 관해서는 연구가 거의 이루어져 있지 않다. 본 논문의 목적은 홀 확장 잔류응력하의 피로특성을 평가하는 것이다. 중앙 홀을 갖는 평판에 대해 홀 확장법을 적용한 후 피로시험을 수행하여 홀 확장 잔류응력이 피로수명에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다. 또한 CT 시험편에 홀 확장법을 적용하여 잔류응력을 생성시킨 후 피로균열성장 시험을 수행하여, 홀 확장 잔류응력에 의한 피로균열성장 특성의 변화를 고찰하였고, 홀 확장률의 영향을 평가하였다.

Ballooning Instability Induced by Coronal Flux Rope Merging

  • A numerical simulation study of the solar coronal plasma reveals that a ballooning instability can develop in the course of flux rope merging. When magnetic field lines from different flux ropes reconnect, a new field line connecting farther footpoints is generated. Since the field line length abruptly increases, the field line expands outward. If the plasma beta is low, this expansion takes place more or less evenly over the whole field line. If, on the other hand, the plasma beta is high enough somewhere in this field line, the outward expansion is not even, but is localized as in a bulging balloon. This ballooning section of the magnetic field penetrates out of the overlying field, and eventually the originally underlying field and the overlying field come to interchange their apex positions. This process may explain how a field structure that has stably been confined by an overlying field can occasionally show a localized eruptive behavior.
