The basic building block of solar filaments/prominences is thin threads of cool plasma. We have studied the spectral properties of velocity threads, clusters of thinner density threads moving together, by analyzing a sequence of $H{\alpha}$ images of a quiescent filament. The images were taken at Big Bear Solar Observatory with the Lyot filter being successively tuned to wavelengths of -0.6, -0.3, 0.0, +0.3, and +0.6 ${\AA}$ from the centerline. The spectra of contrast constructed from the image data at each spatial point were analyzed using cloud models with a single velocity component, or three velocity components. As a result, we have identified a couple of velocity threads that are characterized by a narrow Doppler width($\Delta\lambda_D=0.27{\AA}$), a moderate value of optical thickness at the $H{\alpha}$ absorption peak($\tau_0=0.3$), and a spatial width(FWHM) of about 1". It has also been inferred that there exist 4-6 velocity threads along the line of sight at each spatial resolution element inside the filament. In about half of the threads, matter moves fast with a line-of-sight speed of $15{\pm}3km\;s^{-1}$, but in the other half it is either at rest or slowly moving with a line-of-sight velocity of $0{\pm}3km\;s^{-1}$. It is found that a statistical balance approximately holds between the numbers of blue-shifted threads and red-shifted threads, and any imbalance between the two numbers is responsible for the non-zero line-of-sight velocity determined using a single-component model fit. Our results support the existence not only of high speed counter-streaming flows, but also of a significant amount of cool matter either being at rest or moving slowly inside the filament.

새롭게 등장한 미디어아트는 디지털미디어 시대에 맞추어 새롭고 다양한 표현방법으로 발전하고 있다. 전통예술과 다르게 관객이 적극적 주체가 되어 작품에 참여하고 상호작용하게 되면서 관객과의 소통이 크게 중요해졌다. 이러한 디지털 예술작품들이 이제는 단순히 갤러리에서만 구현되는 것이 아니라 일상생활에서 손쉽게 접하는 장소 및 물품에서도 그 모습을 볼 수가 있다. 이러한 작품들은 더욱 상호작용을 함으로써 미디어아트의 대중적 접근을 쉽게 만들고 있다. 이에 본 논문을 통해 파티클 시스템을 이용한 실시간 멀티미디어 시계 작품을 구성하는 연구를 하였다. 시간은 오랜 기간 동안 전통예술 영역에서 중요한 테마로 활용되어왔으며 다양하게 표현되고 있다. 시간의 연속성과 그에 따른 존재의 가치를 테크놀로지 기술을 바탕으로 표현하기 위하여 시계라는 대중적 매체를 활용하고 사용성과 관객의 상호작용에 의한 감성적 만족을 함께 제공할 수 있는 작품을 제안한다.

Religion affects all the dimension of human beings, and at the same time it forms one dimension of human beings. Costume Is considered as a result that reflects the phases of the time and the characteristics of a wearer. Costume, also, has been influenced by religion that has led one's belief, social spirit and culture for a long period of time. The Eastern aesthetics has expanded the area of thoughts with the concepts that originated from Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. Among the concepts, Non-Dualistic Theory is the core idea of Buddhism.'rho theory contains the moaning that one should not lean to one side between existence and nonexistence and should not be obsessed with the center. It was the most powerful Buddhistic idea that had an influence on Asian aesthetics. Korean traditional costume is not an exception. This study has a significance that it was conducted to understand the relation between religious principle and traditional custom through mainly using documentary records. The formative characteristics of Korean traditional costume influenced by Non-Dualistic Theory ran be summarized as non-structure like, indeterminate forms, amorphousness and anti-decoration such as plainness, temperance and achromatic color. Aesthetic value was expressed through 'the aesthetic of emptiness', 'the aesthetic of hiding', and 'the aesthetic of nature'. Although the appearance of a religious symbol can change, an essential element in religion lasts as human society remains. Although our clothing culture has converted to western style, Korean traditional aesthetics is placed deep inside of 'the Koreans' spirit and has a consistent effect on our overall culture of clothing.

Objectives : This study evaluated knowledge structure and its effect factor by analysis of co-author and keyword networks in Korea's preventive medicine sector. Methods : The data was extracted from 873 papers listed in the Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, and was transformed into a co-author and keyword matrix where the existence of a 'link' was judged by impact factors calculated by the weight value of the role and rate of author participation. Research achievement was dependent upon the author's status and networking index, as analyzed by neighborhood degree, multidimensional scaling, correspondence analysis, and multiple regression. Results : Co-author networks developed as randomness network in the center of a few high-productivity researchers. In particular, closeness centrality was more developed than degree centrality. Also, power law distribution was discovered in impact factor and research productivity by college affiliation. In multiple regression, the effect of the author's role was significant in both the impact factor calculated by the participatory rate and the number of listed articles. However, the number of listed articles varied by sex. Conclusions : This study shows that the small world phenomenon exists in co-author and keyword networks in a journal, as in citation networks. However, the differentiation of knowledge structure in the field of preventive medicine was relatively restricted by specialization.

This article deals with military thought in general. First I tried to distinguish 'thought' from 'theory', 'philosophy', and 'principle'. Thought means the act of thinking about or considering something, an idea or opinion, or a set of ideas about a particular subject, e.g. military affairs in the present discussion. Theory means a formal statement of the rules on which a subject of study is based or of ideas which are suggested to explain a fact or event or, more generally, an opinion or explanation. Philosophy means the use of reason in understanding such things as the nature of reality and existence, the use and limits of knowledge. Principle means a basic idea or rule that explains or controls how something happens or works. Chapter 3 summarized the characteristics of military thoughts into five points', (i) it is closely related with concrete experiences of a nation; (ii) it includes philosophical and logical arguments; (iii) it relies heavily on the political thought of a nation; (iv) it includes necessarily value-judgments; (v) it contains visions of a nation which are not only descriptions or explanations of military affairs, but also evaluations and advocacies. Chapter 4 considers the relation of international political thoughts to military thought. Throughout the history of the modem states system there have been three competing traditions of thought: the Hobbesian or realist tradition, which views international politics as a state of war; the Kantian or universalist tradition, which sees at work in international politics a potential community of mankind; and the Grotian or internationalist tradition, which views international politics as taking place within an international society. Chapter 5 considers the law of war, which is a body of law concerning acceptable justifications to engage in war (jus ad bellum) and the limits to acceptable wartime conduct (jus in bello). Among other issues, modem laws of war address declarations of war, acceptance of surrender and the treatment of prisoners of war, military necessity along with distinction and proportionality, and the prohibition of certain weapons that may cause unnecessary suffering.

하천에서 발생하는 세굴 과정을 파악하기 위해서 교량 우물통 주변의 침식 그리고 퇴적 양상을 조사하는 것은 필수적이다. 지구물리탐사법은 하천 하상변화를 파악하는데 매우 효과적이며, 과거에 발생한 하상의 세굴 현상을 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 비파괴 지구물리탐사법인 지하 투과 레이다(Ground Penetrating Radar, GPR)를 이용하여 2002년 6월과 2002년 10월에 한강 내의 교각 주변을 대상으로 홍수전$\cdot$후 세굴에 의한 하상 변화,세굴과 되메움의 범위 및 깊이, 그리고 하상 매질을 조사하였다. 자료획득에는 100 MHz와 400 MHe안테나를 이용한 GSSI SIR 2000 시스템이 사용되었다. 하천의 흐름방향으로 조사한 24개의 교각 사이와 5개 교각의 주위를 돌며 획득된 GPR영상이 비교 제시되었다. 적절한 현장탐사장비와 탐사 절차가 적용된 GPR탐사는 교각 및 교대 주변의 하천 수심과 하상 지질학적 구조를 결정하는데 효과적일 수 있다는 결론을 얻었다.

Genomic DNAs were extracted from the muscle of twenty-one specimens of three eel species collected in Anguilla japonica (AJ), Muraenesox cinereus (MC) and Conger myriaster (CM) from the Yellow Sea, respectively. In the present study, 7 oligonucleotides primers generated 191 specific loci in the AJ species, 226 in the (MC) species and 181 in the CM species, respectively. The primer BION-02 generated the most loci (a total of 83), with an average of 11.86 in the AJ species. The specific loci generated by oligonucleotides primers exhibited inter-individual-specific characteristics, thus revealing DNA polymorphisms. With regard to average bandsharing value (BS) results, individuals from Conger myriaster species (0.808) exhibited higher bandsharing values than did individuals from Muraenesox cinereus species (0.729) (P<0.05). The longest genetic distance (0.430) displaying significant molecular difference was also between individual no. 01 within Anguilla japonica eel species and individual no. 04 within Anguilla japonica species. In this study, the dendrogram resulted from reliable seven oligonucleotides primers, indicating three genetic clusters composed of group I (ANGUILLA 01~ANGUILLA 07), group II (MURAENESOX 08~MURAENESOX 14) and group III (CONGER 15~CONGER 21). The existence of species differentiation and DNA polymorphisms among three eel species were detected by PCR analysis. As mentioned above, a dendrogram revealed close relationships between individual identities within three eel species. High levels of a significant genetic distance among three eel species showed this PCR approach is one of the most suitable tools for individuals and/or species biological DNA studies.

The aim of this study is to review the concepts of Jing(精) Qi(氣) Shen(神) Hun(魂) Po(魄) in the light of the Jungian psychology. According to the explanations of the Jungian psychology human beings have archetypes-a priori conditioning factors-in the collective unconscious. These archetyps are concerned with common concepts conceived by mankind about the fundamental elements which constitute the universe and the existence. The archetype is perceived in a symbol, hence Jing(精) Qi(氣) Shen(神) Hun(魂) Po(魄) also are these symbolic representations which had common background of mankind. The meaning of Jing(精) is emphasized as psychic and physical elements, and concerned with instinct. Qi(氣) corresponds to Jung's definition of libido as life energy. The concept of Shen(神) has the value of the self archetype as whole psyche's president principle. Hun(魂) and Po(魄) are intuitive notions of the Orient compared with Animus and Anima which are characteristic representations. However from a standpoint of autonomous energy as archetype the difference would be diminished. Considering each purpose of Hun(魂) and Po(魄) Hun(魂) has a intention of integrating the unconscious flux into consciousness while Po(魄) has a tendency toward instinct to secure a body. It is precious to recognize deeply that these concepts of jing(精) Qi(氣) Shen(神) Hun(魂) Po(魄) play an important part which mediate between the unconscious and consciousness, psyche and body as symbols.

본 논문은 변수 불확실성과 제어기의 곱셈형 섭동을 가지는 특이시스템에 대한 비약성 강인 보장비용 제어기 설계 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제어기가 존재할 조건, 비약성 보장비용 제어기 설계 방법, 제어기에서의 비약성 척도와 보장비용 성능지수를 최소화하는 보장비용의 상한치(upper bound)를 선형행렬부등식 접근방벙으로 제안한다. 또한, 특이치분해와 변수치환 및 슈어 여수정리를 이용하여 구한 충분조건은 구하고자 하는 변수의 견지에서 볼록최적화(convex optimization)가 가능한 선형행렬부등식으로 변형된다. 따라서, 제안한 비약성 강인 보장비용 제어기는 변수 불확실성과 제어기의 곱셈형 섭동을 가지는 폐루프 특시이스템의 점근적 안정성과 보장비용 성능지수를 최소화하고 제어기의 섭동에 대해서도 안정성을 보장한다. 마지막으로, 수치예제를 통하여 제안한 알고리듬의 타당성을 검증한다.

In this paper the dynamic behavior of an isolated building subjected to idealized near-fault pulses is investigated. The building is represented with a simple 2-DOF model. Both linear and non-linear behavior of the isolation system is considered. Using dimensional analysis, in conjunction with closed form mathematical idealized pulses, appropriate dimensionless parameters are defined and self-similar curves are plotted on dimensionless graphs, based on which various conclusions are reached. In the linear case, the role of viscous damping is examined in detail and the existence of an optimum value of damping along with its significant variation with the number of half-cycles is shown. In the nonlinear case, where the behavior of the building depends on the amplitude of the excitation, the benefits of dimensional analysis are evident since the influence of the dimensionless 𝚷-terms is easily examined. Special consideration is given to the normalized strength of the non-linear isolation system that appears to play a complex role which greatly affects the response of the 2-DOF. In the last part of the paper, a comparison of the responses to idealized pulses between a linear fixed-base SDOF and the respective isolated 2-DOF with both linear and non-linear damping is conducted and it is shown that, under certain values of the superstructure and isolation system characteristics, the use of an isolation system can amplify both the normalized acceleration and displacement of the superstructure.
