실내 공기질 개선을 위한 환기기술에 관한 연구 (A Study on the ventilation Technology for Indoor Air Quality Improvement)

  • In this research, We'll focus on warm environment and ventilation characteristics when utilizing intake ports, exhaust port and 4-way cassettes for removing heat and polluted air. Four way cassettes have been typical air conditioning units for offices since the multi air-conditioner was introduced. The following installation cases will also be discussed: 1) 4-way cassette's operation without intake ports and exhaust port. 2) Effect of the position of intake port and exhaust ports. 3) cooling air flow, temperature. distribution and local supply index according to the air flow rate from 4-way cassettes.

직분식 디젤기관의 메탄올 흡기분사에 의한 기관성능과 배기배출물에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Engine Performance and Exhaust Emission with Intake Port Methanol Injection in a DI Diesel Engine)

  • In order to investigate the effectiveness of methanol, which has high latent heat of evaporation and oxygen contents, for DI diesel engine performance and exhaust emission, the methanol was injected at the suction port of DI diesel engine. The injector used for test was conventional gasoline engine injector and controlled the quantity of methanol per cycle by the power supply controller which designed specially for injector. The results shown that the maximum pressure point was delayed, the value of maximum pressure was decreased, and the concentrations of both NOx and Soot were decreased, as the methanol injection quantity increased, and also the thermal efficiency of engine injected methanol under the high load condition was similar to no methanol injection but under the medium load condition was decreased within the experimental conditions.

터보 과급기와 중간 냉각기를 장착한 디젤기관의 성능 및 배출가스에 관한 연구 (A Study on Performance and Exhaust GAS Characteristics of the Diesel Engine with Turbocharger and Intercooler)

  • Turbocharger has been used to increase the performance of diesel engine, especially ship engine , for years. Recently, the turbocharger is being adopted not only for an agricultural engine but also for an automobile engine. To improve the performance of diesel engine , the problem of the reduction of A/F ratio in high speed should be solved. Turbocharger is well known for its cost effectiveness, reliability and duration . In this study, an experiment was conducted to verify simulation program . The results for natural aspiration engine and turbocharged engine were compared. In order to estimate the characteristics of exhaust gas, D-13 mode was selected. Power, torque and BSFC of turbocharged engine were increased than those of natural aspiration engine by about 48%, 46% and 5%, respectively . The components in exhaust gas except NOx from turbocharger engine were less than the amount set up for 2000-year regulation.

증발냉각을 이용한 배기열 회수장치의 성능에 관한 연구 (Performance of Heat Recovery System using Evaporative Cooling)

  • 현열 뿐만 아니라 잠열을 이용하는 증발냉각은 배기열 회수에 매우 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 증발냉각을 이용한 배기열 회수장치의 성능을 실험적으로 규명하는 것이다. 성능실험장치는 플라스틱 열교환기, 물 분무 노즐, 공기유동용 홴, 물 순환용 펌프, 수조, 온도 습도 유량 측정 센서 등으로 구성되었다. 증발이 없는 현열 회수에서의 유용도와 증발을 수반하는 전열 회수에서의 유용도를 여러가지 작동조건에서 측정하여 비교하였다. 현열냉각과 증발냉각의 유용도는 공기의 유량이 증가함에 따라 감소하고, 대향류에서의 유용도가 평행류에서의 유용도 보다 휠씬 높다. 증발냉각의 경우 물 유량이 증가함에 따라 유용도는 증가하고, 평행류가 대향류보다 물 유량에 더 민감함을 알 수 있다.

  • The concept of available evergy has been adopted in terms of effectiveness for and evaporator of vapor power cycle. This kind of practice is emphasezed in a case of heat and power cogeneration in order to find optimum condition for the energy utilzation of the exhaust gas. It has beed shown that the optimum condition can be given in terms of the saturation pressure or the saturation temperature of the working fluid. Similar method has been applide to show that the effectiveness is increased asymptotically with the number of evaporator stanges.

  • 최근에 연비향상을 위해 다양한 기술들이 개발 중에 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 배기열 재순환장치의 열교환 성능을 평가한 후 최적 성능의 모델을 제안하는데 있다. 이 장치는 버려지는 배기열을 이용하여 가능한 한 빠르게 엔진 냉각수를 웜업 시키도록 설계하였다. 이 목적을 달성하기 위하여 CFD를 이용하여 냉각수의 흐름 방향과 냉각수의 유입 유출 위치에 따른 열유동 특성을 분석하고, 열교환 효율을 상승시키기 위한 방법을 제시하였다. 그 결과 냉각수 유량이 적고, 배기가스와 냉각수의 유로를 각각 구성하여 배기가스의 열이 직접적으로 냉각수에 영향을 미치는 구조가 가장 열교환 효율이 좋은 것으로 나타났다.

  • A tracer gas technique based on ASTM Standard E741-83 was used to measure ventilation performances in a model chamber ($0.84m{\times}0.68m{\times}0.7m$) with an exhaust fan and a supply fan. Experiments were performed for the ventilation effectiveness on three types of mechanical ventilation systems. For all cases. higher ventilation effectiveness was found in the type to ventilation system due to shorter residual time of air compared to type 1 and type 3.

  • An important goal in diesel engine research is the development of a means to reduce the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOX). The use of a cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system is one of the most effective techniques currently available for reducing nitrogen oxides. Since Particular Matter (PM) fouling reduces the efficiency of an EGR cooler, a trade-off exists between the amount of NOX and PM emissions, especially at high engine loads. In the present study, engine dynamometer experiments have been performed to investigate the heat exchange characteristics of the stack-type EGR coolers with wave fin pitches of 3.6 and 4.6 mm. The results show that the heat exchange effectiveness is decreased as surface area decrease with pitch of 4.6 mm due to PM fouling. As surface area increase at pitch of 3.6 mm, super-cooling happens in the recirculated exhaust gas.

세라믹 열교환기의 이론해석 및 CFD 시뮬레이션 (A theoretical Analysis and CFD Simulation on the Ceramic Heat Exchanger)

  • A ceramic monolith heat exchanger is studied to find the performance of heat transfer and pressure drop by numerical computation and $\xi$-NTU method. The numerical computation was performed throughout the domain including fluid region in exhaust gas-side rectangular ducts, ceramic core and fluid region in air-side rectangular duct with the air and exhaust in cross flow direction. In addition, the heat exchanger was also analyzed to estimate the performance by conventional $\xi$-NTU method with several Nusselt number correlations for flow in rectangular duct from literature. By comparisons of both performances by the numerical computation and the $\xi$-NTU method, the effectiveness by $\xi$-NTU method was closest to the result by numerical computation within a relative error of 2.14% when Stephan's Nusselt number correlation was adopted to the $\xi$-NTU method among the several correlations.

소형 공동주택의 하이브리드 환기시스템 성능실험 연구 (A Study on the Performance Evaluation of the Hybrid Ventilation System for Small Apartment Houses)

  • From Feb. 2006, the ventilating systems with air exchange rate of over 0.7times/hour are installed at the apartment houses (over 100 units). Installation cost and maintenance cost are very important factors for ventilating system because consumers have to pay the expenses of that system. Especially small apartment needs more considerations because small apartment is comparatively the economically weak part. The purpose of this study is to the performance evaluation of the hybrid ventilation system for small apartment houses. Hybrid system 1 consists of natural ventilation system and duct type exhaust diffusers. Hybrid system 2 has natural ventilation system and toilet exhaust system with static pressure fan. Infiltration of test apartment houses with ventilation system is under 0.1 times/hour. Mean air age of hybrid system 1 is 1.52 hours and hybrid system 2 is 1.42 hours. Mean ventilation effectiveness of hybrid system 2(93%) is higher than that of hybrid system 1(81%).
