A Study on the Step-Up Converter with the New Topology Method (내구성이 개선된 발전용 가스터빈 온도센서 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the problem is analyzed, and methods of improvement are presented. For evaluating the performance of the proposed EGT sensor, a complex environment test equipment has been developed to test both high temperature and vibration conditions at the same time. This equipment evaluates the accuracy and response time of the EGT sensor. In the results of the comparison test of the complex environment test equipment of heat and vibration, the existing sensor showed a carbonization problem, and the proposed sensor showed no problem. Therefore, it is expected that the improved EGT sensor will be able to be applied to various industrial fields, including gas turbines for power generation.

  • It is very important to determine the performance and operating envelope of engine for aircraft's flight. The basic performance is provided by manufacturer, but installed engine's operating envelop is only determined by flight test. First, this study was measured cylinder head temperature(CHT), exhaust gas temperature(EGT) and oil temperature. At pre-determined altitude and power rate, these temperatures were measured by change of mixture ratio and mixture ratio condition for economic operation and max. power were found. And secondly, with the measured temperatures, possible positions of mixture lever were determined by flight test for stable flight Chang-91 and Lycoming IO-360-A series four cylinders engine with 200 hp was used for this study.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a method for the efficient preventive maintenance of aircraft gas turbine engine turbine blades. For this study, the types and characteristics of gas turbine engines and its turbine blades were studied, the turbine blade defect types that caused an In-Flight Shut Down(IFSD) were analyzed, the blade failure rate according to the blade life cycle was analyzed through the Weibull distribution, one of the statistical techniques. Through these research results, it is possible to supplement the problems of the life cycle management and maintenance method of the turbine blade, and to suggest the measures to strengthen the preventive maintenance of the turbine blade. In this analysis, when total cycle of turbine blade exceeds 18,000 cycles, the failure rate is over 98%, and then the special management measures are required.
