승마 운동이 직장여성의 비만도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Horse-Riding Exercise on Pain and Body Flexibility for the Patient with Chronic Low Back Pain)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of horseback riding exercise for BMI(body mass index) and waist circumference in the obese women. Method : 20 subjects in Y-equestrian were randomly divided two group, horseback machine exercise(HME) group and horseback-riding exercise(HRE) group. Each group carried out 30 minutes exercise two times a week for 8 weeks. BMI were measured for body composition, and evaluation of waist circumference. Result : The results were as follows, the BMI(body mass index) between horseback machine exercise and horseback-riding exercise groups in post-test, were significantly different in measures(p<.05). And there were significant in two group after exercise(p<.05). The waist circumference between horseback machine exercise and horseback-riding exercise groups in post-test, were significantly different in measures(p<.05). And there were significant in two group after exercise(p<.05). Conclusion : These finding revealed that horseback-riding exercise was effective on BMI and waist circumrerence of obese women so that these exercise can be new altematives exercise for obesity management in the obese women.

The Effect of 3-Dimensional Posture Correction Exercise Program Incorporating PNF Respiratory Muscle Strengthening Exercise on the Spinal Alignment and the Trunk Expansion in Patients with Idiopathic Scoliosis

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of 3-dimensional posture correction(3DPC) exercise program incorporating PNF respiratory muscle strengthening(RMS) exercise on spinal alignment and trunk expansion in patients with idiopathic scoliosis and the difference in intervention effect by type of idiopathic scoliosis. Design: Comparative study using paired t-test and analysis of variance measures. Methods: The subjects of this study were 5 men and 24 women diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis with a Cobb angle greater than 10 degrees and less than 45 degrees. A 3DPC exercise program incorporating PNF RMS exercise was conducted twice a week for 1 hour per session for 6 weeks, and Cobb angle, Angle of trunk rotation, and trunk expansion were measured before and after the intervention. Results: After the intervention, Cobb angle and trunk rotation angle showed a statistically significant decrease, and trunk expansion showed a statistically significant increase. In the effect difference by type, there was a statistically significant difference in the angle of trunk rotation of the thoracic in 3C and Single Lumbar. Conclusions: In conclusion, it is thought that a 3DPC exercise program incorporating PNF RMS exercise can be effectively used in clinical practice to improve spinal alignment and trunk expansion in patients with idiopathic scoliosis.

운동 강도별 수면장애에 미치는 영향 비교 (Effect of Different Exercise Intensity in Sleep Disorder)

  • 목적 : 본 연구의 목적은 운동 강도에 따른 지속적인 운동습관이 수면장애 성인에게 어떠한 영향을 줄 수 있는지 알아보고 수면장애에 효과적인 운동 강도를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 K시에 거주하는 수면장애를 가진 30, 40대 성인 남성 90명을 대상으로 하였다. 집단은 고강도 운동집단 30명, 중강도 운동집단 30명, 저강도 운동집단 30명으로 구성하였다. 세 집단의 총 수면지수와 멜라토닌 농도의 비교를 통하여 수면장애의 운동 강도별 효과를 비교하였다. 결론 : 수면장애의 운동 강도별 운동을 수행한 결과, 운동 수행 전, 후의 총 수면지수에서 고강도와 중강도의 운동이 유의성이 있었지만 수면장애에서는 중강도 운동이 효과적이었고, 운동수행 전, 후의 멜라토닌 농도 변화에서도 중강도 운동이 효과적이었다. 결론 : 본 연구의 결론은 성인의 수면장애는 지속적인 운동이 효과가 있지만 저강도 운동과 고강도 운동보다는 중강도 운동이 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

성인골프참여가 운동몰입을 통한 운동지속에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Golf Participation on Exercise Adherence through Exercise Immersion)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 성인골프참여가 운동몰입을 통한 운동지속에 미치는 영향의 차이 분석하여 지속적으로 골프 운동하도록 제시하는데 주된 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2020년 1월에 경남에 소재한 성인 골프동호인 40~70세 대상을 선정하고 유층집락 무선 표집법(Systematic cluster random sampling)으로 표본 추출을 이용한 설문지로 시행하였다. 첫째, 타당도와 신뢰도를 확보하기 위해 요인분석과 신뢰도 분석을 실시하였다. 둘째, 응답자의 일반적 특성을 알아보기 위해 빈도분석 평균(M)과 표준편차(sd)를 실시하였다. 셋째, 일반적 특성에 따라 운동몰입과 운동지속의 차이를 규명하기 위해 t-test와 One-way ANOVA 분석을 실시하였다. 넷째, 변수들 간의 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석(Multiple Regression Analysis)을 실시하였다. 이와 같은 방법과 절차를 통하여 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일반적 특성의 운동몰입과 운동지속에 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 운동몰입은 운동지속에 높은 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 운동몰입은 운동지속에 높은 영향이 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

걷기운동프로그램이 노인여성의 심폐기능, 유연성에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Walking Exercise Program on Cardiorespiratory Function and Flexibility in Elderly Women)

  • Recently, the ratio of elderly in the population are fast growing due to socio-economical development and the better medical service. Proportionally, the health problems in elderly are increasing, too. Medical professionals must try so that the elderly have the better life through health promotion and disease prevention as well as disease treatment. This study evaluated the effect of walking exercise program on the cardiorespiratory function and the flexibility in the elderly women. The design of research was one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were eleven elderly women over sixty years old to live in K-city, Kyonggi-do. The type of exercise was walking, which was the most popular exercise in questionnaire. The exercise intensity was 40%∼60% of the target heart-rate by Karvonen's method and maintained by the heart-rate monitor. The exercise period was five weeks and the exercise frequency was three times per week. The exercise duration was forty minutes at first and gradually increased up to an hour. In order to evaluate the effect of walking exercise, we measured VO/sub₂ max, resting heart -rate, systolic/diastolic blood pressure, FVC, FEV/sub₁, the flexibility before and after the five week's exercise program. The data are analyzed by the paired t-test and Wilcoxon signed rank test using SAS package. The results are as follows : 1) The hypothesis that cardiorespiratory function will be improved was partly supported. In VO/sub₂ max(p=0.0001), resting heart-rate(p=0.0030), systolic/diastolic blood-pressure(p=0.0387/ p=0.0024), there was significant difference. FVC and FEV/sub₁ were increased after the exercise, but there were no significant difference. 2) The hypothesis that the flexibility will be improved was supported. There was significant difference in the flexibility(p=0.0140). As the further study, it is necessary to reevaluate the effect with more refined design. We also need to try meta-analysis about the results of previous studies obtained in the experimental setting and compare our result obtained in the field setting with them.

12주간 줄넘기, 밴드운동이 비만 여중생의 GH, IGF-1 및 대사증후군 위험 인자에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of 12 Weeks Rope Skipping and Band Exercise on GH, IGF-1 and Metabolic Syndrome Risk Factors in Female Obese Middle School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of rope skipping and band exercise on GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors in female obese middle school students. Twenty female obese middle school students(%BF > 30%) were randomly assigned to a exercise group(EX, n=10) or control group(CON, n=10). The exercise group has performed rope skipping and band exercise for 12 weeks, 3time per week. Exercise intensity was increased gradually, from 40% to 70% of Heart Rate Reserve(HRR) and Rating of Perceived Exertion(RPE) 11-15. GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome rist factors were GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors were measured pre- and post-exercise program including rope skipping and band exercise. Levels of GH and IGF-1 were significantly increased (p<.01 and p<0.001, respectively) in exercise group after 12 weeks of exercise training. WC and TG were significantly decreased(p<.01) in exercise group after 12 weeks of training. HDL-C was significantly increased(p<.05) in exercise group after 12 weeks of training. In conclusion, rope skipping and band exercise were effective exercise program in improving GH, IGF-1 and metabolic syndrome risk factors in female obese middle school students.

승마 운동이 여성 노인의 균형능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Horse-Riding Exercise on the Balance Ability in the Frail Woman Elderly People)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of horse riding exercise for the prevention of falls in the frail woman elderly people. Method : 30 subjects in H-equestrian and N-equestrian were randomly divided two group, aero-step exercise group and horse-riding exercise group. Each group carried out 40 minutes exercise three times a week for 8 weeks. TUG were measured for dynamic balance ability, and sway path of COP movement during standing were measured for evaluation of static balance ability in balance performance monitor(BPM). Result : The results were as follows, the dynamic balance scales of TUG between aero-step exercise and horse-riding exercise groups in post-test, were significantly different in measures(p<.05). And there were significant in two group after exercise(p<.05). The static balance scales of sway path between aero-step exercise and horse-riding exercise groups in post-test, were significantly different in measures(p<.05). And there were significant in two group after exercise(p<.05). Conclusion : These finding revealed that horse-riding exercise was effective on dynamic and static balance abiility of elderly people so that these exercise can be new altematives for the prevention of falls in the frail woman elderly people.

교각운동 시 공 적용이 체간근 활동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Bridging Stabilization Exercises on Trunk Muscles Activity On and Off a Swiss Ball)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of bridging stabilization exercises on trunk muscles activity on and off a Swiss ball. 20 healthy university students volunteered to participate in this study. Subjects were required to complete following four exercises: exercise 1, single bridging exercise; exercise 2, feet on ball bridging exercise; exercise 3, calf on ball bridging exercise; exercise 4, back on ball bridging exercise. Surface electromyography from selected trunk muscles was normalized to maximum voluntary isometric contraction. A repeated measures of ANOVA with post-hoc Bonferroni's correction was used to determine the influence of exercise type on muscle activity for each muscle and descriptive statistics was used to determine local/global muscle ratios. The rectus abdominis of exercise 4 showed significantly higher muscle activity than rectus abdominis of exercise 1, 2, 3 (p<.05). The external oblique of exercise 2, 4 showed significantly higher muscle activity than external oblique of exercise 1 (p<.05). The internal oblique of exercise 2, 4 showed significantly higher muscle activity than internal oblique of exercise 1 (p<.05). The erector spinae of exercise 2, 3, 4 showed significantly higher muscle activity than erector spinae of exercise 1 (p<.05). Median of internal oblique/rectus abdominis ratio of exercise 1 was 1.16, exercise 2 was 2.43, exercise 3 was 2.45, exercise and 4 was 1.27. Median of internal oblique/external oblique ratio of exercise 1 was 1.01, exercise 2 was .91, exercise 3 was .99, and exercise 4 was .93. Muscle activity can be influenced by addition of a Swiss ball in bridging exercises. It is recommend to use a Swiss ball for trunk stabilization exercise.

Effect of aquatic exercise on gait in persons with chronic stroke: a meta-analysis study in Korea

  • Objective: Based on the results of previous studies, it is necessary to analyze gait and discuss and present the effects of aquatic exercise for chronic stroke. The purpose of this study was to present objective data on the effect of aquatic exercise on the gait of persons with stroke by performing a meta-analysis. Design: A systematic review and meta-analysis. Methods: We performed a meta-analysis of 23 studies that investigated the effects of aquatic exercise performed between 2006 and 2017. The studies were searched on the basis of the participants, intervention, comparison, outcomes standard. The quality of the research method was assessed using a tool that can assess the risks posed by each study design. A meta-analysis software program was used to calculate the mean effect size, effect size by intervention, and effect size by outcome. We also performed a meta-regression analysis and an analysis of publication bias. Results: The mean effect size of the patients' gait was 0.65 (p<0.05). The largest effect size by outcome was observed at the 6-m walk test, followed by the 6-minutes walk test, 10-m walk test, and the walking equipment test (p<0.05). The meta-regression analysis showed that the effect size increased with increased duration, number, and length of sessions. Conclusions: Aquatic exercise appears to show a moderate effect on the gait of chronic stroke survivors. Meta-analyses on the effects of aquatic exercise in other patient populations are needed. This study suggests standard criteria establishments for the effect of aquatic exercise on the walking ability of persons with chronic stroke.

퇴행성 슬관절염 환자의 하지 근력 강화운동이 균형능력에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Balance Ability of Knee Osteoarthritis with Lower Extremity Strengthening Exercise)

  • Purpose : The main purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of lower extremity strengthening on balance ability of knee osteoarthritis. Methods : The walking exercise group with modality treatment and strengthening exercise group with modality treatment. The walking exercise and strengthening for 40 minutes per day and three times a week during 6 weeks period. Short Form McGill Pain Questionnaire(SFMPQ) was used to measure patient's pain level. Patient Specific Functional Scale(PSFS) was used to measure patient's functional disability level. BPM was used to measure sway area. Global Perceived Effect Scale(GPES) was used to measure recovery or worse of patient's condition. Results : 1. SFMPQ was strengthening exercise group showed significantly decreased more than walking exercise group(p<.05). 2. PSFS was strengthening exercise group showed significantly increased more than walking exercise group(p<.05). 3. Sway area was strengthening exercise group showed significantly limited area more than walking exercise group(p<.05). 4. GPES was strengthening exercise group showed significantly increased more than walking exercise group(p<.05). Conclusion : This study will be used as exercise method of patient with osteoarhtritis.
