SM 50A 강으로 제작된 T-형 용접형상의 용접후처리 방법이 피로수명 증가에 작용하는 역할 (Role of Post Weld Treatment Methods in the Improvement of Fatigue Life for T-type Welded Structures Made by SM 50A Steel)

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of the post weld treatments on the fatigue life of T-type welded structure made by a SM50A steel material, generally used for excavators, because changes in the geometry, material and surface properties of welded regions affect the fatigue life of welded structures. T-type test specimens were prepared by the CO2 welding of rolled steel plates (SM50A steel) with a thickness of 10 mm at a welding speed of 30 cm/min and these Ttype welded specimens were further treated by UIT (Ultrasonic Impact Treatment) and/or toegrinding post welding treatment methods. In order to investigate improvements on the fatigue life of the samples. 3-point bending fatigue tests were conducted with a stress ratio of R=0.1 under a cyclic loading environment at a frequency of 5 Hz, via a hydraulic fatigue testing machine (${\pm}100\;kN$, MTS 809). The tests were performed at room temperature. The fatigue life of UIT specimens was approximately 25 times longer than that of as-welded specimens at a stress amplitude of 281 MPa, while toe-grinding specimens exhibited 4.15 times longer fatigue life. The current results could provide important guidelines to determine the proper post weld treatment methodologies of T-type welded parts for excavators with a satisfactory fatigue life although under severe operating conditions.

운전자의 작업행태를 고려한 지능형 굴삭기의 이동경로 생성 방법 (A Path Generation Method Considering the Work Behavior of Operators for an Intelligent Excavator)

  • 최근 기능 인력의 건설현장 기피 현상으로 인해 숙련된 기능을 지닌 인력 양성이 더욱 힘들어지고 있으며 이에 대한 해결책으로 건설장비의 자동화 및 정보화 기술이 대두되고 있다. 특히 주로 기계화로 시공이 수행되는 토공은 도로, 공항, 단지조성등과 같이 대부분의 토목 및 건축 공사에 필요한 가장 기본적인 작업이며 굴삭기는 이런 작업에서 범용으로 활용되어 이른바 '지능형' 굴삭기의 필요성 두드러지고 있다. 지능형 굴삭기는 기능공이 탑승하지 않은 채 원격 또는 자동으로 전반적인 토공 작업을 수행할 수 있는 굴삭기를 일컫는다. 본 연구는 지능형 굴삭기 개발을 위한 요소기술로서 굴삭 작업자의 노하우를 반영하여 자동적으로 굴삭기 이동경로를 생성하기 위한 방법론을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 즉, 수학적인 최적화 관점에 국한하지 않고 현장에서 굴삭기 운전자의 주된 의사결정 요소로 파악된 이동거리, 자연배수 방향, 굴삭방향의 연속성의 중요도를 반영하여 최적의 이동경로를 생성시켰다. 굴삭기가 작업하는 전체 구간을 단위 셀로 나누고, 셀들에 의하여 생성된 네트워크와 셀간 이동비용을 입력값으로 하여 몇 가지 네트워크 탐색 알고리즘을 사용하여 소비용의 이동경로를 파악하도록 하였다. 본 연구에서 제시된 방법론은 실제 현장에서 굴삭기 운전자가 작업을 하기 위하여 의사결정을 하는 요소를 반영하여 굴삭기의 이동경로를 결정함으로 인해 현장 적용성을 높였다는 데 그 차별성과 의미가 있다.

Deterioration of High Viscosity Index Hydraulic Fluids During Use in Construction Equipments

  • This study represents the newly advanced formulation of hydraulic fluids for extended drain interval and introduces the performance results of used oil samples from various excavators. The used oil samples, in this paper, show that there is a sharp change in viscosity drop and moderate additive depletion. For the extension of hydraulic fluid life. it is necessary to improve the stability of viscosity and oxidation. New target properties from the used oil analysis were proposed for extended life. Hydraulic oil with the viscosity index of 140 and improved thermal stability consists of group III base oil, showed the possibility of extension of fluid life.

  • In teleoperation field robotic system such as hydraulically actuated robotic excavator, the maneuverability and convenience is the most important part in the operation of robotic excavator. Particularly the force information is important in dealing with digging and leveling operation in the teleoperated excavator. Excavators are also subject to a wide variation of soil-tool interaction forces. This paper presents a new force reflecting joystick in a velocity-force type bilateral teleoperation system. The master system is electrical joystick and the slave system is hydraulically actuated cylinder with linear position sensor. The used oil samples, in this paper, show that there is a sharp change in viscosity drop and moderate additive depletion when viscosity index of hydraulic oil is very high. For the extension of hydraulic fluid life, it is necessary to improve the stability of viscosity and oxidation. New target properties from the used oil analysis were proposed for extended life. Performance of newly developed hydraulic oil based on used oil analysis is compared with previously used one. The properties of new formulation are the viscosity index of 140 and improved thermal stability consists of VHVI base oil. Field test results showed the possibility of extension of fluid life. Additionally, for development of high performance product, new required propertied and performances were discussed.

  • It is well known that pneumatic actuators convert fluid power into mechanical power with a low efficiency. The pneumatic rotary actuators are used in not only marine winches. but also hoists, agitators, and excavators. The efficiency of pneumatic rotary actuators depends on several factors, such as type of actuator. speed, supply pressure. size and geometry of the actuator. This paper presents an analytical and experimental study of the performance of pneumatic rotary actuators. We investigate all the major aspects of the air flow through a pneumatic rotary actuator and points out the main causes of the low efficiency of the actuator. Therefore the design parameters which can lead to optimum performance are obtained.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop improved boom structures with reliable fatigue strength of weldment and lower production cost. For that purpose, multibody dynamic analysis was performed to evaluate forces acting on arm & boom cylinders and joints of boom structure during operation of an excavator for three working postures, then stress analysis was made to investigate stress distribution around diaphragms at the bottom plate of boom structures which was known to be susceptible to fatigue failures of welded joints, and finally boom structure with optimum arrangement of diaphragms was proposed. This work basically consists of the following two parts: part 1 focuses on multibody dynamic analysis of excavators during operation and part 2 includes evaluations of fatigue strength of welded joints for modified boom structures.

  • Dimension and capacity of the zero tail type mini excavator are small as compared with medium or large excavators. Therefore, problems of the noise and the heat are major issues in design due to layout of each component such as the engine and the hydraulic module. It is necessary to reduce the noise and the vibration of construction machine, due to be enforced regulation for high noise construction machinery in the world. The objective of this study is to provide basic data which is apply to predict noise effect in detail design stage by estimating noise of cabin for zero tail type mini excavator.
