The success of a business process management system stands or falls on the quality of the business processes. Many experiments therefore have been devoting considerable attention to the modeling and analysis of business processes in process-centered organizations. One of those experiments is to apply the probabilistic theories to the analytical evaluations of business process models in order to improve their qualities. In this paper, we excogitate a conceptual way of applying a probability theory of proportions into modeling business processes. There are three types of routing patterns such as sequential, disjunctive, conjunctive and iterative routing patterns in modeling business processes, into which the proportion theory is applicable. This paper focuses on applying the proportion theory to the disjunctive routing patterns, in particular, and formally named proportional information control net that is the formal representation of a corresponding business process model. In this paper, we propose a conceptual approach to discover a proportional information control net from the enactment event histories of the corresponding business process, and describe the details of a series of procedural frameworks and operational mechanisms formally and graphically supporting the proposed approach. We strongly believe that the conceptual approach with the proportional information control net ought to be very useful to improve the quality of business processes by adapting to the reengineering and redesigning the corresponding business processes.

The spread of infectious diseases in the event of livestock is getting faster and the route of spread gets more varied. It is important for the responsible agency to detect early and establish a prevention and surveillance system. If the spread cannot be contained effectively, great damage and loss will be inevitable in terms of social, environment and economic aspects as well as the welfare of the farmers. At present in Korea, a web-based Infectious Livestock Diseases Statistics System (AIMS: Animal Infectious Disease Data Management System) has been already implemented for this purpose and the service is available to the general public. But this system does not provide geospatial information and does not provide support for decision making and does not provide multi-dimensional information. In this study, an open source-based SOLAP (Spatial On-Line Analytical Processing) technology is applied to enable many diverse forms of data analysis from many aspects to support decision making. The SOLAP system was designed to integrate geospatial information and the analysis of information has been largely divided into map-based analysis and table-based analysis.
This study was performed by questionnaire to investigate viewpoints regarding menu excavation and development of native local foods of adults in the Gyeongju area, classified by gender and age. The subject population consisted of 253 citizens(108 males and 145 females) living in Gyeongju. The findings are summarized as follows: The residents highly desired the 'enrichment of service and clean hygiene of local food restaurants', 'active marketing', 'necessity of excavation and development at the present time', and 'development with regional unique characteristics' with regard to the development of the local food choices in Gyeongju, whereas they did not particularly desire 'excavation development of cooking that often is served at family event(birth, marriage, death etc..)', nor 'guidance and enlightenment for many citizens'. The most influential obstacle hindering the development of Gyeongju local food was 'administration support deficiency of connection group agency', followed by 'interest deficiency about local food of restaurant business managers and citizens, different taste of each restaurant', and 'tradition cooking itself is insufficient in Gyeongju'. The most reasonable development menu for native local foods of the Gyeongju area was 'mushroom & beef hot pot(beoseothanu-jeongol)', 'glutinous barley bread(chalborippang)', 'mushroom & bulgogi hot pot(beoseot-bulgogi-jeongol)', 'grilled beef(hanu-sutbul-gui)', and 'grilled minced beef ribs(hanu-tteok-galbi)' in that order. On the other hand, the excavation and development validity scores for 'black goat soup(heukyeomso-tang)', 'gulfweed soup(mojaban-guk)', and 'parboiled octopus(muneo-sukhoe)' were very low.
In these days, considering the trend to make various information blended based on spatial information like road, buildings and geography, it is to be very important to visualize maps for showing the information efficiently. However, geometry which is composed with line, polygon commonly used on web service has limitation to express information by limit of usage as well as spending certain time to show the information via map. That's why this study develops the efficient way to visualize huge and complex spatial information. This way is to bring partial space with spatial query, and then query and expand information excluded the former area after detecting movement event based on client. When the way is implemented, it will be expected to make efficient visualization in entire system by not bringing unnecessary information but shortening spending time to show area because it just shows areas which clients want to see.
Neuroblastoma treatment remains challenging, but treatment has become more effective due to the establishment of clinical and biological variables that determine prognostic risks. Initially, stage and age were the prime determinants of survival used in clinical practice. Risk-based therapy currently is the hallmark of neuroblastoma treatment. This study reviews one center's experience with the management of neuroblastoma. Sixty-three patients with neuroblastoma were treated from 1989 to 2003. All patients were graded according to the International Neuroblastoma Staging System (INSS) at diagnosis. There were 37 boys and 26 girls. The median age was 2.14 years (range, 33 days-10.2years). The primary site was the adrenal gland in 47, dumbbell shape extending into spinal canal in 6, retroperitoneum in 5, mediastinum in 3, and other sites in 2. The probability of 5-year overall survival (OS) and event free survival (EFS) were 46.7 % and 44.2 % by Kaplan-Meier method. According to INSS, there were stage 1 in 2 cases, stage 2 in 5, stage 3 in 12, stage 4 in 42, and stage 4s in 2. There were statistically significant differences in the survival rates between patients with stage1, 2 and stage 3, 4(P<0.05). For the stage 3 and 4, the extents of surgical resection, determined from the operative records and pathologies, were complete resection in 17 cases, minimal residual in 15, and partial resection 11, and the 5-year OS rate was 57.8, 51.4, and 13.6 %, respectively. There is a trend toward higher OS with more complete resection (P<0.05). We conclude that age and stage at diagnosis are prognostic factors, and complete excision of the primary tumor can provide better prognosis for patients with stage 3 and 4 neuroblastoma.
The relationships of El Nino and La Nina with both temperature and precipitation in South Korea is studied. Monthly temperature and precipitation are analyzed using harmonic analysis to identify region, magnitude and season that have responses associated with El Nino and La Nina. The first harmonic is extracted from a 24 month El Nino and La Nina composite at each station. The regions are identified by the similarity in the phase of the harmonic vectors. The responses of precipitation to El Nino and La Nina are found in the all regions. However, the response of precipitation to El Nino and La Nina is identified only in the southern region. In addition, statistical significance for response periods is investigated through cross correlation analysis. Once an El Nino and a La Nina event set in, the results of this analysis can provide an efficient information for the management of water resources, agriculture and environment.

In general, a large-scale wireless sensor network(WSNs) is composed of hundreds of or thousands of sensor nodes. In this large-scale wireless sensor networks, it is required to maintain and manage the networks to lower management cost and obtain high energy efficiency. Users should be provided with sensing service at the level of quality for users through an efficient system. In evaluating the result data quality provided from this network to users, the number of sensors related to event detection has an important role. Accordingly, the network protocol which can provide proper QoS at the level of users demanding quality should be designed in a way such that the overall system function has not to be influenced even if some sensor nodes are in error. The energy consumption is minimized at the same time. The protocol suggested in this article is based on the LEACH protocol and is a role-based self-Organization one that is appropriate for large-scale networks which need constant monitoring.
Even well trained personnel may fall victim to panic, and a wrong assessment of the situation can turn a small accident into a huge disaster. At the disaster site, the event is commonly broadcasted in real time and is unfiltered. Thus, the commander of the site must be able to accurately assess the scene while not missing out on key considerations. Despite the necessity of good situational assessment, there is barely any research on this topic. This study utilizes METT-TC(Mission, Enemy, Troops, Terrain and weather, Time available, and Civil considerations) which is used by militaries to assess combat situations, and proposes MORT-TAC(Mission, Object, Resources available, Terrain and weather, Time available, Ability, and Civil considerations) as factors to consider in effectively controlling the disaster site. The standard model is used for assessing disaster scenes by applying the Delphi analytical method on each sub-factor of MORT-TAC.
The impact of the precipitation has been focused on losses in social and economical sectors. However, as growing the concerns of the future water shortage caused by the climate change, the precipitation should be consider in various views for an effective planning in the water resource management. A precipitation case occurred from 20 to 21 April 2009 was recorded as a welcome rain because it reduced the severe drought continued in Korea from winter season of 2008. In this study, economic values of the event was calculated with positive aspects in various sectors. The estimation is based on four major parts such as a secure of water resources, the improvement of air quality, the decrease of forest fires, and the reduction of the drought impact. The water resources only considered inflow waters into dams and the reservoirs managed by Korean public institutions and their economic values accounts for 5.92 billion won. Decreases of four air pollutants($PM_{10}$, $NO_2$, CO, and $SO_2$) were considered as the positive effects of the rainfall and estimated 175.4 billion won. The preventive effect of the forest fire after the rainfall results in 0.48 billion won. Finally, the rainfall during the drought period is effective to reduce the social costs of 108.65 billion won. Although the economic values estimated in this study explain parts of the positive effects of the precipitation, it can help to develop a comprehensive and systematic valuation system for the whole process of the precipitation. For doing this, various rainfall types should be analyzed in social-economic terms including economics, environments and hydrology.

In this study, we examined whether the systematic literature review method used in the field of evidence-based medicine could be used for post-market clinical evaluation of medical devices by modifying them to fit the regulatory perspective of medical devices in Korea. For this purpose, systematic literature review was modified and applied to conduct a clinical literature survey on the ophthalmic electrosurgical system(Trabectome®, NeoMediX Corp) used for the treatment of glaucoma. A total of six documents were finally selected, and clinical safety and efficacy information on the indications of the ophthalmic electrosurgical system were effectively presented. In addition, general safety information and unexpected safety information could be distinguished through comparison with medical device adverse event reporting cases. The method used in this study is expected to be used in various ways throughout post-market medical device safety management system and for the purpose of regulation improvement, especially in the field of ophthalmic electrosurgical system.
