  • 본 연구에서는 대기압하에서 외부교란이 고정 연료액적(jet A-1)의 증발/연소에 미치는 영향에 대한 실험연구 결과이다. 연구결과, 탄화수소계 연료인 제트유(jet A-1)액적은 크기에 상관없이 일정한 증발률 상수 $k_{e'}$ 연소율 상수 $k_c$를 유지하였다 또한, 액적의 증발률 및 연소율 상수 $k_{e'}k_c$를 증가시키기 위해서는 적절한 음파의 주파수 및 진폭영역이 존재하였으며, $80Hz\leqf\leq100Hz, 80\leqSPL\leq110$에서 각각 외부교란이 없을 때보다 1.2~1.51배, 1.04~l.42배 만큼 증가하였다.

  • The lead has to be removed for the recycling of copper alloy. The lead cannot be removed from the copper alloy by oxidation. It can be removed by the evaporation because of its high vapor pressure. However, rare information is found on removal of lead from copper alloy. The purpose of present work is to provide a fundamental knowledges on the removal of lead from the copper alloy by evaporation. Gas injection was made in molten copper alloy, and the evaporation rate of lead was measured. The influence of Ar gas flow rata(2~4 L/min), initial contents of lead(2~4wt%Pb), temperature(1200~140$0^{\circ}C$) was investigated based on the thermodynamic and the kinetics. The rate constant is increased with increasing flow rate of Ar and temperature. Though amount of lead removed is increased with higher initial lead concentration, the rate constant is not changed significantly. The activation energy is estimated from the temperature dependence of the rate constant. Also removal of lead from the copper by adding chloride was made for the comparison.

EFFECTS OF WATERY VAPOR CONCENTRATION ON DROPLET EVAPORATION IN HOT ENVIRONMENT

  • A study has been conducted to clarify the effect of watery vapor concentration in hot ambient on droplet evaporation. Droplets of water, ethanol, n-hexadecaneand n-heptane were used in this experimental study. Ambient conditions are fixed at 470 K in temperature, 0.1 MPa in pressure and 2 m/s in velocity of ambient air. Watery vapor concentration was changed 0%~40% by 10% by add water to air. To obtain the time histories of droplet diameter after exposed in ambient, a suspended droplet in hot and humid ambient stream was synchronized with a back flash light, and enlarged droplet images were taken by a CCD camera. The evaporation rate constant of water droplet decreases slightly with the vapor concentration because diffusion velocity reduction of droplet vapor occurs on the surface. The values of ethanol and n-heptane droplet actively increase by effect that water from condensation of vapor flows into the droplet. The evaporation rate constant of n-hexadecane which has higher boiling point than water increases within around 30% of the concentration.

가솔린 연료의 기화율 변화에 따른 연소 특성에 관한 기초 연구 (A study on the combustion characteristics according to evaporation rate of gasoline)

  • The present study systematically investigates the effect of evaporation rate on the combustion characteristics and the flame stabilization in a gasoline engine. A constant volume combustion chamber was used to elucidate a basic combustion characteristics and the premixer was installed to control temperature and equivalence ratio. And the maximum pressure, combustion duration and flame propagation according to the evaporation rate were measured to determine the optimal temperature range for evaparating a gasoline fuel. These experimental results indicate that the combustion characteristics such as combustion chamber pressure and combustion duration were deteriorated by decreasing surrounding temperature of fuel injected. It was also found that the overall gasification process for gasoline fuel was strongly influenced by a combustion chamber temperature rather than a premixer temperature.

  • An experimental study has been performed to obtain the effect of relative velocity between droplet and environmental gas on the evaporation of a n-heptane free droplet of 180 $\mu$m in diameter flying in a hot and normal pressure air flow. Measurement of droplet diameter and velocity was conducted in a series of time by an electrically controlled optical system. From the experimental results, an empirical equation associated with the relation between evaporation rate constant and relative velocity was obtained.

  • This paper describes the investigation of combustion characteristics of gasoline-methanol blend in constant volume combustion chamber. A constant volume combustion chamber was used to elucidate a basic combustion characteristics and the premixer was installed to control temperature and equivalence ratio.   • We experimentally investigate the evaporation characteristics of water droplet on surfaces of various wettabilities in the range of contact angle from 30$^{circ}$ to 150$^{circ}$. When a liquid droplet on a solid surface evaporates, the contact angle generally decreases with time and the evaporation rate varies with the droplet geometry such as the contact angle and the radius of curvature. Experimental data on the contact angle as a function of the droplet volume obtained by digital image analysis techniques cannot be explained by the existing theories. By measuring the temporal evolutions of the droplet radius and contact angle, we find the qualitative difference between the evaporation patterns on the hydrophilic surfaces where the contact radius remains constant initially and those on the superhydrophobic surfaces where the contact angle remains constant. Also, the evaporation rate is observed to depend on the surface material although the currently available models assume that the rate is solely determined by the droplet geometry. Despite the fact that the theory to explain this dependence on the surface remains to be pursued by the future work, we give the empirical relations that can be used to predict the droplet volume evolution for each surface. It is expected that the present study will contribute to interpreting the effect of droplet geometry on the evaporation.

액적의 증발에 미치는 수증기 농도의 영향 (Effects of Water Vapor Concentration on a Droplet Evaporation)

  • An experimental study has been conducted to clarify the effect of vapor on droplet evaporation. Droplets of water, ethanol, n-hexadecane and n-heptane were exposed in air stream. Temperature, pressure, and flow velocity in the ambient air are 470K, 1 atm, and 2m/s, respectively. Measurements are carried out for the wide range of water vapor concentration$(0%\sim40%)$. To obtain the time histories of droplet diameter, suspended droplet in hot and humid air stream was synchronized with a back flash light, and enlarged droplet images were taken on a CCD camera. With the vapor concentration increasing, the evaporation rate constant of water droplet decrease slightly and the droplet of ethanol and n-heptane increase actively. The evaporation rate constant of n-hexadecane which has higher boiling point than water increases within around 30% of the concentration.

가열 매체 및 증발온도가 마늘즙의 농축에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Heating Medium and Evaporation Temperatures on Concentration of Garlic Juice)

  • 원심식 박막증발기를 이용해 마늘 착즙을 농축한 경우 가열 매체 및 증발온도가 농축비, 총괄열전달계수, 증발속도 등에 대해 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 마늘착즙의 급액속도와 증발온도가 일정할 때 가열증기의 온도가 높을수록 농축비, 증발속도, 및 총괄열전달계수는 증가하였으나, 가열증기의 온도가 $110^{\circ}C$ 이상이 되면 이들 값의 증가가 현저하게 둔화되었다. 증기온도 $100^{\circ}C$ 이하에서는 증발온도가 증가함에 따라 농축비, 증발속도, 총괄열전달계수는 감소하였다. 그러나 그 이상의 온도에서 어느 일정 증발온도까지는 이들 값이 증가하다가 다시 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 급액속도가 일정할 때 증기의 온도와 증발온도와의 차이가 $70^{\circ}C$가 될 때까지는 농축비, 증발속도 및 총괄열전달계수는 모두 증가하였다. 그러나 온도 차이가 $70^{\circ}C$ 이상이 되면 이들 값의 증가가 둔화되거나 감소하였다.
