BAlq를 적용한 유기발광소자의 제작 및 특성 분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fabrication and Characteristic Analysis of Organic Light Emitting Device using BAlq)

  • BAlq was fabricated as for hole blocking layer in the OLED devices to investigate its electrical and optical characteristics. Device structure was ITO/$\alpha$ -NPD/EML/BAlq/Alq3/Al:Li using TYG-201, DPVBi (4, 4 - Bis (2, 2 - diphenylethen-1 - yls) - Biphenyl), Alq and DCJTB (4-(dicyanomethylene)-2- (1-propyls)6-methy 4H-pyrans) as green emitting material, blue emitting material, host material for red emission and red emitting guest material respectively. The OLED device showed optimum working voltage and electron density at 600 cd/$m^2$ when thickness of BAlq is 25$\AA$ for RGB OLED devices while their efficiencies are better at 50$\AA$ of BAlq. Red and blue color OLEDs also fabricated using 30$\AA$ thickness of BAlq and compared with those without BAlq layer. BAlq was more effective in electrical properties such as working voltage, current density and efficiency of red OLED than blue and green ones. This study describes that 30$\AA$ is optimum thickness of BAlq for best performance of full color OLED devices when using BAlq as a hole blocking material.

액상분사식 LPG 연료공급방식의 아이싱현상에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Icing Phenomenon in Liquid Phase LPG Injection System)

  • The liquid phase LPG injection (LPLI) system is considered as one of the next generation fuel supply systems for LPG, vehicles, since it can accomplish the higher power, higher efficiency, and lower emission characteristics than the existing mixer type fuel supply system. However, during the injection of liquid LPG fuel into the inlet duct of an engine, a large quantity of heat is extracted due to evaporation of fuel. A problem is that the moisture in the air freezes around the outlet of a nozzle, which is called icing Phenomenon. It may cause damage to the outlet nozzle of an injector. The frozen ice deposit detached from the nozzle also may cause a considerable damage to the inlet valve or valve seat. In this work, the experimental investigation of the icing phenomenon was carried out. The results showed that the icing phenomenon and process were mainly affected by humidity of inlet air instead of the air temperature in the inlet duct. Also, it was observed that the icing occurs first in the inlet of a nozzle, and grows considerably at the upper part of the nozzle inlet and the opposite side of the nozzle entrance. An LPG fuel, mainly consisting of butane, has lower latent heat of vaporization than that of propane, which is an advantage in controlling the icing phenomenon.

Development of Petroleum-Based Carbon Composite Materials Containing Graphite/silicon Particles and Their Application to Lithium Ion Battery Anodes

  • Herein, a novel preparation method of highly homogeneous carbon-silicon composite materials was presented. In contrast to conventional solvent evaporation method, a milled silicon-graphite or its oxidized material were directly reacted with petroleum-derived pitch precursor. After thermal reaction under high pressure, pitch-graphite-silicon composite was prepared. Carbon-graphite-silicon composite were prepared by an air-oxidization and following carbonization. From energy dispersive spectroscopy, it was observed that small Si particles were highly embedded within carbon, which was confirmed by disappearance of Si peaks in Raman spectra. Furthermore, X-ray diffraction and Raman spectra revealed that carbon crystallinity decreased when the strongly oxidized silicon-graphite was added, which was probably due to oxygen-induced cross-linking. From the anode application in lithium ion batteries, carbon-graphite-silicon composite anode displayed a high capacity ($565\;mAh\;g^{-1}$), a good initial efficiency (68%) and an good cyclability (88% retention at 50 cycles), which were attributed to the high dispersion of Si particles within cabon. In case of the strongly oxidized silicongraphite addtion, a decrease of reversible capacity was observed due to its low crystallinity.

  • The optical characteristics of merocyanine dyes have been investigated widely due to their possible application to the high efficiency photo-electric devices. The optical systems are mostly fabricated using vacuum evaporation, casting and Langmuir-Blodgett method and the arrangement and orientation of dye molecules is one of the most important factors in the study on the optical characteristics. In this study, we fabricated the molecular systems through the LB techniques and investigated the optical characteristics of merocyanine dye LB film using the oscillation characteristics of quartz crystal. It was quite interesting behavior that the resistance and frequency shift at the parallel resonance under the UV irradiation.

  • 본 연구에서는 MAT(Moisture Air Turbine) 사이클이 압축기 입구에 미세한 물방울을 분무함에 따라, 가스터빈 엔진의 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 제시하였다. 혼합물이 상변화하는 동안의 압축기 일은 이론적으로 등 엔트로피 압축 일로 고려하였다. 여기서 습증발의 영향을 고려함에 따라 압축기 일이 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 성능해석 프로그램을 이용해서 1000, 1210, 1350 rps 조건에서, 압축기 유입공기에 대한 1.5% 의 물 분무시 사이클 모델 계산을 이용해서 각각 21.7%, 20.2%, 18.4%의 출력이 증가함을 확인하였다. 또한 효율도 압축기 일의 감소에 의해 개선되어짐을 확인하였다.

大邱市의 工業用水와 鐵의 軟化障害에 關하여 (Industrial Waters of Taegu City and on the Objection of Iron for Water Softening)

  • The waters throughout Taegu area for 87 points were analysed and according to the analytical data, following unfavorable characteristics for industrial uses were given: (1)Shows strong hardness, (2)Has high ratio of ignition residue to evaporation residue, (3) pH value is over 7, (4) Contains considerable quntities of iron.And then investigated the exchange rate and regeneration level of iron ion using cation exchange resin, Lewatit KS.When the hard water containing 2.2 ppm of iron with 18.4 ppm of calcium and 6.2 ppm of magnesium was passed through the ion exchange resin under $3cc/cm^2/min$ in exhaustant flow rate, exchange rate of iron reached to 42% after 300 hours flow. The exchange efficiency shows abrupt decreasing in initial stage of flow up to 100 hours flow. The exchanger which contains iron was regenerated with 10% sodium hydroxide aqua solution under SV (space velocity) 4. By this method, 57% of iron was eliminated from exchanger while calcium and magnesium are removed as much as 85% and 87% respectively.

Solid Waste from Swine Wastewater as a Fuel Source for Heat Production

  • This study was to evaluate the feasibility of recycling the solids separated from swine wastewater treatment process as a fuel source for heat production and to provide a data set on the gas emissions and combustion properties. Also, in this study, the heavy metals in ash content were analyzed for its possible use as a fertilizer. Proximate analysis of the solid recovered from the swine wastewater after flocculation with organic polymer showed high calorific (5,330.50 kcal/kg) and low moisture (15.38%) content, indicating that the solid separated from swine wastewater can be used as an alternative fuel source. CO and NOx emissions were found to increase with increasing temperature. Combustion efficiency of the solids was found to be stable (95 to 98%) with varied temperatures. Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) showed five thermal effects (four exothermic and one endothermic), and these effects were distinguished in three stages, water evaporation, heterogeneous combustion of hydrocarbons and decomposition reaction. Based on the calorific value and combustion stability results, solid separated from swine manure can be used as an alternative source of fuel, however further research is still warranted regarding regulation of CO and NOx emissions. Furthermore, the heavy metal content in ash was below the legal limits required for its usage as fertilizer.

  • Research into natural refrigerants that use CO2, instead of chlorofluorocarbons and hydrofluorocarbons, has increased due to the environmental problems caused by ozone depletion. CO2 refrigerants are more environmentally friendly than conventional refrigerants because they have better latent heat of evaporation and heat transfer efficiency properties. However, they have very low critical temperatures and require high design pressures; therefore, pressure control valves, which reduce the pressure of the CO2 refrigerant to a safe level and apply it to the refrigerant air conditioning system, are necessary to secure stability against high pressure. In the present study, we evaluated the flow characteristics and valve performance of the pressure control valve using a CO2 refrigerant by measuring the pressure, velocity, and flow coefficient. In addition, we examined the applied forces caused by the internal pressure from the highly pressurized CO2 refrigerant and required thrust characteristics.

투명전도막 변화에 따른 CIGS 박막태양전지 특성에 관한 연구

  • CIGS 박막태양 전지는 I-III-VI2 Chalcopyrite 결정구조를 가진 화합물 반도체 태양전지로 인위적인 밴드갭 조작이 용이하여 효율 향상에 높은 가능성을 보이고 있다. 4원소 화합물인 CIGS 광흡수층의 대표적인 제조 방법으로는 co-evaporation 공정법이 있다. 동시 증발법은 CIGS 결정을 최적화하기 위하여 박막이 증착되는 동안 기판의 온도를 3단계로 변화시켜주는 3-stage 공정을 통하여 제작된다. 일반적으로 CIGS 박막태양전지는 전면전극으로 투명전도막이 사용되며 높은 광투과성과 전기전도성을 가져야 한다. 투명전도막의 광학적, 전기적 특성은 CIGS 박막태양전지의 효율에 영향을 미치기 때문에 최적화된 조건이 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 CIGS 광흡수층은 Ga/(In+Ga)=0.31, Cu/(In+Ga)=0.86으로 최적화 시켰으며, 투명전도막은 Al이 도핑된 ZnO 박막을 RF 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 증착하였다. ZnO:Al 박막의 두께를 가변하여 증착하였으며 박막의 특성을 평가하고, CIGS 광흡수층에 이를 적용함으로써 태양전지 변환효율 특성을 연구하였다. CIGS 박막 태양전지의 투명전극인 ZnO:Al 박막의 두께가 500 nm 일 때, Jsc=29.521 mA/cm2, Voc=564 mV, FF factor=71.116%, Efficiency=12.375%의 광 변환효율을 얻을 수 있었으며, 이에 따른 투명 전도막의 전기적, 광학적 특성을 통해 CIGS 박막태양전지에 미치는 영향에 대해 조사하였다.

  • In this study, multi layer type OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) has been fabricated using $Snq_2$, $Snq_4$, and $Alq_3$ for development of high efficiency, electrical and optical properties of multi layer type OLED investigated. The HTL(Hole Transfer Layer) and EML(Emitting Material Layer) were fabricated by using vacuum evaporation on ITO electrode, and its thickness controlled using thickness monitor. Al was used as a cathode. The electrical and optical properties such as J-V, brightness-V and EL spectrum of OLED device was measured using I.V.L.T system. The result, brightness of $Alq_3$, $Snq_2$ and $Snq_4$ were $3900cd/m^2$, $63cd/m^2$ and $23cd/m^2$ respectively.
