The methanol extract of Euphorbia milii exhibited strong inhibitory effect on platelet aggregation in the cource of our search for anti-platelet component from succulent plants. Two components, components 1 and 2 were isolated from this plant. 1 was the mixture of 72% of 1-octacosanol (1a) and 28% of 1-triacontanol (1b), and 2 was identified as ${\beta}-sitosterol$. 2 ($IC_{50}$: $195\;{\mu}M$, and $170\;{\mu}M$ respectively) was about two fold stronger than ASA ($IC_{50}$: $420\;{\mu}M$ and $340\;{\mu}M$ respectively) on both collagen and U46619 induced aggregation, while the effect of 1 to platelets was negligible.

The European pepper moth, Duponchelia fovealis Zeller (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) was discovered at Gyeonggi-do, Korea in 2015 and 2016. The moth has been known as a very harmful pest of ornamental plants worldwide. Larval damages to the Euphorbia milii stems and to the Schlumbergera truncata leaves were detected. After immediate spraying of insecticides, the moth was not found at the greenhouse any more.

A new cultivar of Euphorbia milii, 'Panorama' was developed at Cactus Research Institute, Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services in 2009. 'Gabi' and 'Maxi' were crossed in 2001 and three $F_1$ seedlings were obtained. Pedigree selection was performed in 2002. One line was finally selected and named as 'Panorama' through the test of specific character from 2007 to 2009. The new cultivar 'Panorama' has green and pink colored bract, and it has 2~3 each of inflorescence number, 2.0 cm of bract width, 4.3 each of lateral shoot and 14.9 cm of plant height. Characters of the cultivar can be maintained by vegetative propagation.
