  • In this paper, we propose high-performance H.264/AVC CAVLC encoder for UD video real time processing. Statistical values are obtained in one cycle through the parallel arithmetic and logical operations, using non-zero bit stream which represents zero coefficient or non-zero coefficient. To encode codeword per one cycle, we remove recursive operation in level encoding through parallel comparison for coefficient and escape value. In oder to implement high-speed circuit, proposed CAVLC encoder is designed in two-stage {statical scan, codeword encoding} pipeline. Reducing the encoding table, the arithmetic unit is used to encode non-coefficient and to calculate the codeword. The proposed architecture was simulated in 0.13um standard cell library. The gate count is 33.4Kgates. The architecture can support Ultra Definition Video ($3840{\times}2160$) at 100 frames per second by running at 100MHz.

  • Various researches and practices on asset management and asset-based mapping have been done with regard to engineering, industry, business and stocks marketing areas. Their notions and concepts are differently interpreted in response to different requirements. There are considerable research outcomes of management, operation and maintenance for physical, natural and digital assets. However, existing concept of asset management might have limitations to deal with diverse tangible or intangible assets at the individual/household/community level. In this paper, a conceptual framework of Hexad asset model is designed to explicate increase, decrease and other changes of assets flows as a geometric pathway. Particularly, consideration of lands and housing as important physical and natural assets to escape poverty not only leads to creation of an excellent 3D digital asset management, but also reaches to a new approach to asset-based mapping for a poverty information management and system.

  • In this paper, a multi-hop relaying transmission scheme is analyzed regarding its feasibility and potentiality in the IEEE 802.22-based cognitive radio (CR) environment. Shortly, basic design issues are addressed such as relay station (RS) deployment and a frame structure of physical channel to escape inter-hop interference. This paper mainly develops a radio resource management scheme based on spectrum sensing results aggregated from CR secondary nodes and improves the opportunistic spectrum sharing efficiency. In particular, a decision rule about a channel availability is made using a distributed sensing method. Subsequently, spectrum allocation and routing path decision procedures are proposed to establish a link from source to destination with a hop-by-hop manner. Simulation results show that the proposed multi-hop relaying scheme is substantially profitable in CR environments if the number of hops and RS deployment are designed in such a way that the spectrum sharing gain is larger than spectrum division loss which is inherently induced in multi-hop relaying systems.

  • Ready-made products produced in the industrialized consumer society after the 20th century have been adopted by artists as a new material called "Found object," and are reinterpreted in a broad sense in their works. The method of giving new meaning using this creates a new paradigm that is expanded conceptually as well as expression style. After Pablo Picasso's in 1912, when the Found object was used for the first time in contemporary art, we examine the development of objects through Dadaism, Surrealism, and Pop Art, and the expression of Found objects in the late 20th century. In this study, the artists and their work are analyzed by dividing it into three types: 'Unprocessed objects', 'Transformed objects', and 'Tenant objects', depending on how the Found object is mixed in works. Through this study, I pay attention to the fact that a work incorporating a Found object not only develops the object materially, but also allows the practice of free concept art to escape from the traditional norms of art.

  • There are more and more citizens suffering from severe fatigue, and they wish to escape from it and spend their leisure time for healing. As a result, buildings and complexes are being constructed nationwide with healing as their theme. Particularly, they tend to build facilities with concepts like a spa, beauty, healing, meditation, nature, or forest healing. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of healing environment and the nationwide tendencies of building facilities with healing as their theme and also investigate the planning characteristics of complexes and architecture with three representative complexes as examples. Complexes intended for healing have immersion into nature being freed from one's routine as their concept. When planning the flow of human traffic within the complexes, they try to obtain the autonomy of choice as well as the diversity of space and experiential factors in order to provide opportunities for experiencing nature. In the complexes selected for a case study here, they have planned the factors of physical environment that are associated with one another based on architectural education programs using red clay, programs specializing poetry, and healing programs using food. Typically, this is centered around outdoor experiential space, indoor meditation and education space, or fitness space. Also, it is characterized by the planning of physical environment and the complex operation of programs. Particularly, public space is divided into communal space, resting space, and health and treatment space, and health/resting space is mainly intended for health and exercise, for example, fitness, spas, or jjimjilbang (Korean dry saunas). Also, it is characterized by the planning of pitched roofs harmonized with nature and also facade planning that can positively adopt the factors of natural environment.

  • This study examines the perception and its meaning of child education and mother]s role for children of Korean mothers for their children to study abroad in Malaysia. For this purpose, data was collected through in-depth interviews with seven mothers and one grandmother. All participants were lived in Malaysia for at least 6 months above. As a result, the most of recommenders of studying in Malaysia were fathers. And the purposes of studying in Malaysia were the improvement of their children's English learning skills and abilities, and not-good academic achievement in Korea. They made a decision for their children to study in Malaysia in that it was good to study in Malaysia for early 'spec' management for their children. But in the case of Korean mothers, they had a diverse desires internally. For example, they had a desire to escape from the relationships with mother-in law or complicated social relations of their family, kin, and neighbors in Korea. In Malaysia, Koran mothers carried out their roles of children's time management, information network management and 'distinction' strategies to their friends and neighbors for their children to study well and up their achievements' levels. Lately, they had planning to develop for their children's long term life design and their choices of universities in Korea, with special reference to the various connections of school-ties and religion-ties in Malaysia.

  • Securing wireless Ad hoc network including the secure mechanism design and implementation is generally more difficult for vulnerability of channels and nodes, the absence of infrastructure, topology that change dynamically, and etc, than ire network. The efforts of early researches are based on the adaptation of securing methods for the wire network to wireless ad hoc network. However, wireless ad hoc network could not get effective study finding because network has essential problems. This paper proposes that some new problems are being came to light over the survivability and availability of the network itself, that are caused by the massive packet attack of more than one or two nodes, and proves the consequence of this phenomenon. Also, we propose an effective prevention mechanism of masquerade attacks for survivability reinforcement that escape standard of the early way by survivability of wireless Ad hoc network and approaches for performance elevation and reflect special quality of wireless Ad hoc network.

  • This study analyzes the type of preferred shopping items based on tourism shopping value pursued by tourists through shopping at travel destinations as well as verifies their impact on satisfaction. A survey on 310 adult men and women aged 20 to 69 collected data samples representing tourism shoppers in Korea. Based on the collected data, a factor analysis and a structural model equation analysis were performed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS. Tourism shopping value was divided into functional value, emotional value, exploratory value, and shared value. In addition, shopping items were categorized as physical materials and experience materials to identify the difference in preferred item types according to the value that tourists perceive. It also confirmed the adjustment effect of tourism motivation that affects tourism shopping behavior. According to the analysis results, the more tourists perceive functional and emotional values when shopping, the more physical material they prefer, and the more they perceive exploratory values, the higher the preference for experience goods. However, the shared value affected both physical materials and experience materials. Based on escape-seeking motivation, the adjustment effect of tourism motivation (a major variable to understand the behavior of tourists) on tourism shopping behavior was confirmed. Based on the academic and practical implications of this study, we hope to broaden our understanding of tourism shopping and revitalize research on tourism shopping.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present an evacuation performance analysis model that can derive vulnerable evacuation spaces with considering the movement behavior as per the elderly groups in the event of a fire in a geriatric hospital. Methods: The evacuation characteristics of geriatric hospital users were investigated through the review of precedent studies. First, the occupant conditions and the evacuation scenario were set to analyze a study target hospital. Then, the evacuation simulation was carried out considering the group types and the density of each group. Finally, an evacuation performance analysis model according to the group type was presented based on the simulation results. Results: The results of this study are as follows: (1) The evacuation performance according to the group type is to be clarified through the suggested study model. (2) It is necessary to secure a ramp or an emergency elevator to distribute the evacuation personnel at the design stage because congestion occurs due to collisions between evacuees on the stairs and delays the evacuation time. (3) It is necessary to consider the evacuation stairs and openings of sufficient size by analyzing the frequency of congestion occurrence and the escape routes of occupants in advance to identify the space where the evacuation flow overlaps. Implications: It is expected that the study result is to be used as primary data for studies that consider the elderly and clustering evacuation behavior in the event of a fire in a geriatric hospital.

  • This study considers expression techniques and aesthetic values in the images of head dress reflected in a natural motif. The conclusions of the study are as follows. The first type is the realistic expression (52.4%) such as the reproduction of a natural object's essential form (27.0%), the partial derivation of the natural object (19.3%), and the planarization for the actual image of the natural object (6.1%). The second type is a metaphorical expression (39.0%) which emphasizes the morphological characteristics of nature (18.2%), the structuration of the natural object's silhouette into a three-dimensional or two-dimensional form (11.5%), and the abstract expression of the form in the natural object (9.3%). The third type is a hybrid expression (8.6%) that is a compromise between practical (or metaphorical expressions) so that expression techniques represent a compromise between the natural object's essential form and abstract expression (4.6%) or the combination of the natural object's silhouette into a three-dimensional or a two-dimensional visualization (4.0%). Aesthetic head dress values reflected in the natural motif first indicate a primitive value. This state of natural instinct recreates the natural object or combines part of the biological elements of the natural object to create an inducement to escape from the practical world. The second is amusement in the expression of animals in dynamic and humorous forms creates an illusion of animals being alive with a representative playful enjoyment. The third is abstraction that grant freedom in the observer's aesthetic rational through a reinterpretation of the fashion designer. The fourth is eclecticism where a compromise represents an act of mixing a variety of independent factors to create harmony with the imagery of nature created through the grafting of diverse expression techniques that break away from stereotypes of existing natural objects to create a type of nature that cultivates new values.
