사이버공간의 인식적 구조에 관한 연구 - 라캉의 관점으로 본 노박과 린의 비교연구 - (A Study on Epistemic Structure of the Architecture in Cyberspace. - A comparative analysis on Novak and Lynn based on Lacan's subject theory -)

  • Cyberspace is created through the confluence of global electronic communications networks and technology, and also meant to be a three-dimensional space of information. Its application in arts, however, requires broader views and knowledge and often results a confounded definition of it. The study is to define cyberspace and the architecture in it, with the methodology of the structural criticism, focusing the textuality without any impression or intuition to reach its valid epistemic definition. Two architects in cyberspace; Novak and Lynn, and their works have been discussed and analyzed reflecting Benedikt's theory of cyberspace which has coined its definition in architecture in early 90's. Lacan's subject theory, including the mirror stage, has played a key role to evaluate the identities and the differences of various views towards cyberspace. It also enables us to construe the on-going status and meaning of cyberspace and the architecture In it.

A Study of the Semantic Function of Modality

  • The purpose of this paper is to make a sentence systemic within the category of structural grammar for the modality in which a speaker expresses his attitude. It is the priority of a language to communicate meaning. By eliminating the theoretical description of traditional grammar, this paper also aims to illustrate the concepts of nine modal verbs through a systemic network. The concept of modality includes both the epistemic and the deontic characteristics of modality. Epistemic modality is associated with either knowledge or belief on the part of a speaker who gives his own judgments about the state of affairs, events, or actions. However, deontic modality is related to either the possibility or the necessity of acts that a speaker performs to give permission or fulfill an obligation. In conclusion, all the subsystems are described within the framework of the systemic network, with the intention of including all the potential options of the semantic functions available in a situation.

A Meta-Analytic Review of the Effectiveness of the Science Writing Heuristic Approach on Academic Achievement in Turkey

  • The Science Writing Heuristic (SWH) approach is described as an immersive argument-based science inquiry focusing particularly on learning through epistemic practices. In the literature, several previous studies indicate how academic achievement is positively influenced by the SWH. In addition to these previous studies, several meta-syntheses of qualitative data have been conducted on this particular topic. With these literatures in mind, a quantitative meta-analysis was conducted with ten studies (N = 724) to examine the effectiveness of the SWH on student achievement in Turkey. To present a thoroughly detailed report, this study also examined the following moderators: grade level, subject area, school location, intervention length, and report source. Overall, this study found that in Turkey, the SWH classrooms performed better in academic achievement tests than traditional lecture-based classrooms. Additionally, the SWH is more likely to be effective regardless of grade levels, subject areas, and school locations.

Analyzing the Impact of Value Satisfaction on Behavioral Intention to Use E-Resources

  • The present study investigates the impact of perceived value metrics in driving satisfaction and behavioral intention to use e-resource among its users. Utilitarian, hedonic, uniqueness, epistemic, and economic are key values selected for the purpose of investigation in the study. This empirical study is carried out through a survey and responses have been analyzed using structural equation modelling. The target group is selected by means of simple random sampling (users of e-resources in selected business schools). Findings of the study reveal that utilitarian values, hedonic values, epistemic values, and uniqueness values have a significant impact on the usage intention of e-resources; however, economic values reflect an insignificant relationship to intention to use e-resources. The study is a distinctive piece of work on investigating the most and the least significant value(s) associated with satisfaction and usage intentions of e-resources.

해조류 건강 기능 식품에 대한 소비가치 분석 (Analysis of Consumption Values of a Seaweed Functional Food)

  • In this study, we assessed college students' consumption values with regard to a seaweed functional food, and compared differences between the respondents' purchasing intentions and their educational levels. A self-administered questionnaire was designed and distributed to college students in Daegu/Kyungbook province. A total of 288 questionnaires were collected, and the total response rate was 96.0%. The results demonstrated that purchasing intention influenced all five consumption values. The high purchasing intention (HPI) group evidenced greater functional value, social value, emotional value, conditional value, and epistemic value than was observed in the low purchasing intention (LPI) group. However, individuals' educational levels, as related to food, influenced only the functional value and epistemic value. These results demonstrate that college students' consumption value in terms of seaweed functional foods is affected by purchasing intentions and educational experience.

수학 교실의 이원론적 신념과 그 극복을 위한 교수방안 고찰 (Dualism in mathematics classroom and some teaching strategies for overcoming students' dualistic beliefs)

  • 많은 학생들이 수학에는 하나의 정답이 존재하며, 수학 수업은 교사로부터 문제를 푸는 방법을 전달받는 수동적 과정이라는 이원론적 신념을 가지고 있다. 이 연구는 인식론적 신념의 개념화와 발달에 대한 교육심리학의 여러 연구를 고찰하고, 이를 바탕으로 수학적 사실 및 절차를 절대적이고 확실한 것으로 제시하며 학생의 오류도 절대적인 방식으로 다루는 통상적인 수학 교수 관행의 인식론적 한계를 살펴보고 그에 대한 대안을 탐색하였다. Langer와 Piper(1987)의 실험 및 Oliveira 외(2012) 등의 교실 관찰 연구는 교사가 지식을 불확실성을 허용하는 조건부적 언어로 제시하고 논의하는 것이 학생들의 인식론적 신념을 생산적인 방향으로 유도할 수 있다는 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 한편, 학생의 오류에 대한 교실 의사소통의 초점과 패턴의 변화는 수학 교실을 지배하는 이원론적 신념의 극복에 도움이 될 수 있다. 이상의 논의는 수학 수업이 암묵적으로 전달하는 인식론적 메시지의 분석 및 학생들의 인식론적 신념 발달을 자극하는 교수 전략을 탐색하는 데 토대를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

아웃도어 여성소비자의 소비가치가 관계품질 및 장기관계지향성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Consumption Value of Outdoor Female Consumers on Relationship Quality and Long-term Relationship Orientation)

  • This study analyzed the effects of consumption value of outdoor female consumers on relationship quality and long-term relationship orientation as well as differences in consumption value, relationship quality and long-term relationship orientation by demographic characteristics. A survey was conducted from May 15-22, 2016; subsequently, 336 responses were used in the analysis. Statistical analysis methods consisted of frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and regression analysis. The results indicate that the consumption value of outdoor female consumers was composed of functional value, emotional value, epistemic value, situational value, and social value. Relationship quality was composed of satisfaction, commitment, and trust. Consumption value (functional value, emotional value, epistemic value, situational value, and social value) of outdoor female consumers positively affected satisfaction. Emotional value, epistemic value and situational value positively affected commitment; in addition, functional value and emotional value positively affected trust. Satisfaction, commitment, and trust about outdoor brand also positively affected the long-term relationship orientation; in addition, consumption value positively affected long-term relationship orientation. There were significant differences in the consumption value and relationship quality by age and marital status. The study results provide useful information for the marketing strategies of outdoor brands that consider female consumers.

A novel evidence theory model and combination rule for reliability estimation of structures

  • Due to the discontinuous nature of uncertainty quantification in conventional evidence theory(ET), the computational cost of reliability analysis based on ET model is very high. A novel ET model based on fuzzy distribution and the corresponding combination rule to synthesize the judgments of experts are put forward in this paper. The intersection and union of membership functions are defined as belief and plausible membership function respectively, and the Murfhy's average combination rule is adopted to combine the basic probability assignment for focal elements. Then the combined membership functions are transformed to the equivalent probability density function by a normalizing factor. Finally, a reliability analysis procedure for structures with the mixture of epistemic and aleatory uncertainties is presented, in which the equivalent normalization method is adopted to solve the upper and lower bound of reliability. The effectiveness of the procedure is demonstrated by a numerical example and an engineering example. The results also show that the reliability interval calculated by the suggested method is almost identical to that solved by conventional method. Moreover, the results indicate that the computational cost of the suggested procedure is much less than that of conventional method. The suggested ET model provides a new way to flexibly represent epistemic uncertainty, and provides an efficiency method to estimate the reliability of structures with the mixture of epistemic and aleatory uncertainties.

Knowledge Representation and Reasoning using Metalogic in a Cooperative Multiagent Environment

  • 본 연구에서는 멀티에이전트 환경에서 지식을 표현하고 추론함에 있어서 증명 이론적 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 논리적 결과를 기계적 방법으로 결정하므로 초기 인공지능 연구부터 핵심분야로 발전해 왔다. 하지만 임의의 닫힌 문장들의 집합에서 항상 명제가 증명할 수 있지 않기에 논리적 결과가 결정할 수 있어지려면 절 형식의 문장으로 그 표현 범위를 제한한다. 그리고 절 형식의 문장들에서만 적용 가능한, 단순하면서도 강력한 추론 규칙인 비교흡수 원리(Resolution principle)를 적용한다. 또한 증명이론을 메타술어로 표현할 수 있으므로 증명이론의 메타논리로 확장 가능하다. 메타논리가 모델 이론의 인식 논리(epistemic logic)보다 향상된 표현력을 기반으로 실용적인 면과 효율면에서 우월할 수 있다. 이를 입증하기 위해 인식 논리의 의미론과 증명이론의 메타논리 방식으로 각각 Muddy Children 문제에 적용한다. 그 결과 협력적 멀티에이전트 환경에서 메타논리를 사용하여 지식과 공통지식을 표현하고 추론한 방법이 더 효율적임을 증명한다.

초등 예비교사의 VR/AR 활용 과학 수업 계획 과정에서 나타나는 TPACK 특징 -인식적 네트워크 분석을 중심으로- (Characteristics of Pre-service Elementary Teachers' TPACK in Science Lesson Planning Using VR/AR Contents: Focusing on Epistemic Network Analysis)

  • 이 연구에서는 인식적 네트워크 분석(ENA)을 통해 초등 예비교사의 VR/AR 콘텐츠 활용 과학 수업 계획 과정에서 나타나는 TPACK의 특징을 알아보고자 했다. 연구자들은 기존의 TPACK 프레임워크에 기초하여 7개의 TPACK 코딩 요소를 귀납적으로 추출하였다. 그리고 초등 예비교사들이 과학 수업을 계획하며 나누는 담화를 TPACK 요소에 따라 코딩하고 이를 ENA Web Tool로 분석하였다. 두 모둠의 담화를 분석하고 비교하였는데 연구자들이 질적으로 분석한 두 모둠의 담화의 차이는 ENA 그래프를 통해 명확하게 드러났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 연구자들은 ENA 방법이 기존 TPACK 연구와 달리 테크놀로지 지식(TK), 내용 지식(CK), 교수 지식(PK)의 복합적 상호작용을 분석할 수 있는 유용한 연구 방법임을 주장하였다. 그리고 두 모둠의 담화에서 나타나는 특징을 통해 예비교사의 TPACK 역량 함양을 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.
