Preliminary study on the ground behavior at shore connection of submerged floating tunnel using numerical analysis

  • Submerged floating tunnel (SFT) is a type of tunnel which causes the tunnel segments to float in the water. When the SFTs are connected to the ground, the connection between the SFT and the subsea bored tunnel is fragile due to the difference in behavioral characteristics between the two types of tunnels. Therefore, special design and construction methods are needed to ensure the stability of the area around the connection. However, since previous research on the stability of the connection site has not been undertaken enough, the basic step necessitates the evaluation of ground behavior at the shore connection. In this study, the numerical analysis targeting the shore connection between the subsea bored tunnel and the SFT was simulated. The strain concentration at the shore connection was analyzed by numerical simulation and the effects of several factors were examined. The results showed the instability in the ground close to the shore connection due to the imbalance in the behavior of the two types of tunnels; the location of the strain concentration varies with different environmental and structural conditions. It is expected that the results from this study can be utilized in future studies to determine weak points in the shore connection between the submerged floating tunnel and the subsea bored tunnel, and devise methods to mitigate the risks.

  • 전통적 인적자원관리는 행동과학적 접근에 입각하여 인간의 특성을 모티베이션, 태도, 지각, 가치관 등의 심리적 변수들을 중심으로 설명하여 왔으며, 환경과 인간의 상호작용에서는 시스템적 접근에 입각한 상황이론이 연구의 주축을 이루고 있다. 반면 인사 경제학에서는 인간의 특성에 관해서 다루는 변수는 선호로 제한되어 있으며, 선호 및 합리적 의사결정에 대한 아주 비현실적이고 단순한 가정 하에 경제학적 환경변수들이 인간행동에 미치는 영향에만 연구의 초점을 맞추고 있다. 전통적 인적자원관리는 제 각각의 상황에 대한 설명은 풍부하지만 보편적 원리를 도출하는 데에 있어서는 커다란 한계를 지니고 있다. 반면 인사경제학은 연구모델이 엄밀하고 분석적이라는 장점을 갖고 있지만 인간 본질에 대한 비현실적 가정에 입각하고 있기 때문에 실제 현상에 대한 이해를 왜곡 시킬 수 있다. 두 학문분야의 교류에 의하여 인적행동에 관한 보다 깊은 이해가 이루어질 잠재력이 충분하게 존재하고 있으며 이를 위해서는 인사경제학자들은 그들의 연구모델에 심리적 변수를 포함시켜야 되고 인사관리학자들은 경제학자들의 이론적 정교함을 받아들여야 할 것이다.

환경관심, 환경지식, 소비가치가 업사이클 제품의 구매의도 및 구매행동에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Environmental Concern, Environmental Knowledge, and Consumer Value on Purchase Intention and Behavior of Up-cycled Products )

  • With the increase in online shopping and delivery food consumption since the pandemic, solving environmental problems caused by single-use packaging has become an important issue. 'Upcycling' is a combination of 'Upgrade' and 'Recycle', and it is the rebirth of obsolete or discarded objects by adding new value to them, and there are currently various upcycled products on the market. In order to activate upcycling, consumers' awareness of the environment and their values for consumption are very important. This study aims to investigate the influence of students' environmental concern, environmental experience, and consumption value on their purchase intention of upcycled products. Based on the results of previous studies on environmental concern, environmental experience, and consumption value, hypotheses were set, and a survey was conducted among university students nationwide to test the hypotheses. The results of this study are as follows First, environmental concern has a significant positive effect on purchase intention of upcycled products. It can be seen that the more environmental concerns such as global warming and waste disposal problems increase, the more positive attitudes toward upcycled products increase. Second, the research hypothesis that environmental knowledge will have a positive effect on the purchase intention of upcycled products is rejected. It was found that environmental knowledge is acquired through environmental education and many SNS, but it does not have a direct effect on the purchase intention of upcycled products. Third, it was found that the consumption value of college students has a positive effect on the purchase intention of upcycled products by increasing their positive perception of upcycled products. Fourth, college students' purchase intention of upcycled products has a positive effect on their behavioral intention to purchase upcycled products. The results of the study provide implications for relevant organizations such as universities and companies to effectively design upcycling-related education. It is also expected to have a positive impact on the use of upcycled products by providing basic information on the characteristics of consumers who purchase upcycled products.

현장시험을 통한 고강도 강관을 이용한 쏘일네일의 거동특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Behavioral Characteristics of Soil Nail Using High-strength Steel Pipe through Field Test)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 강소재의 발전에 의해 고강도 강관의 제작이 실용화됨에 따라 고강도 강관 쏘일네일링 공법의 안정성 및 적용성에 대한 평가를 수행하였다. 쏘일네일링 공법에서 보강재로 사용되고 있는 이형철근을 동일직경의 고강도 강관으로 대체할 때의 보강재의 거동특성과 보강력 증대효과를 규명하고 안정성을 확인하기 위하여 현장시험시공을 실시하였다. 인장시험결과 측정변형률 값이 이론식에서 산정된 변형률보다 작은 값을 보이므로 이형철근을 사용한 쏘일네일링 공법과 유사한 거동을 한다고 볼 수 있다. 변위측정 결과, 고강도 강관의 변위가 이형철근 보다 큰 값을 보이는 것은 강관 내부그라우팅 영향과 단면적 감소에 따른 영향인 것으로 판단된다. 쏘일네일링 공법에 고강도 강관을 사용하는 경우 부재성능 및 경량화를 통하여 안정성 및 시공성 향상에 따른 현장적용성이 양호한 것으로 판단된다.

Estimation of reaction forces at the seabed anchor of the submerged floating tunnel using structural pattern recognition

  • The submerged floating tunnel (SFT) is tethered by mooring lines anchored to the seabed, therefore, the structural integrity of the anchor should be sensitively managed. Despite their importance, reaction forces cannot be simply measured by attaching sensors or load cells because of the structural and environmental characteristics of the submerged structure. Therefore, we propose an effective method for estimating the reaction forces at the seabed anchor of a submerged floating tunnel using a structural pattern model. First, a structural pattern model is established to use the correlation between tunnel motion and anchor reactions via a deep learning algorithm. Once the pattern model is established, it is directly used to estimate the reaction forces by inputting the tunnel motion data, which can be directly measured inside the tunnel. Because the sequential characteristics of responses in the time domain should be considered, the long short-term memory (LSTM) algorithm is mainly used to recognize structural behavioral patterns. Using hydrodynamics-based simulations, big data on the structural behavior of the SFT under various waves were generated, and the prepared datasets were used to validate the proposed method. The simulation-based validation results clearly show that the proposed method can precisely estimate time-series reactions using only acceleration data. In addition to real-time structural health monitoring, the proposed method can be useful for forensics when an unexpected accident or failure is related to the seabed anchors of the SFT.

Ultimate strength of composite structure with different degrees of shear connection

  • Composite beam, which combined the material characteristic of the steel and concrete, has been widely used in the construction of various building and bridge system. For the effective application of the composite beam, the composite action on the composite interface between the concrete element and the steel element should be achieved by shear connectors. The behavioral characteristics of composite beam are related with the degree of interaction and the degree of shear connection according to the shear strength and shear stiffness of the stud shear connectors. These two concepts are also affected by the number of installed shear connector and the strength of composite materials. In this study, experimental and analytical evaluations of the degree of shear connection affected by stud diameter were conducted, and the relationship between structural behavior and the degree of shear connection was verified. The very small difference among the ultimate loads of the specimens depending on the change of the degree of connection was possibly because of the dependence of the ultimate load on the characteristic of plastic moment of the composite beam.

유치원 실내환경 특성에 관한 연구 (The Characteristics of Interior Environment in Kindergarten)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the current interior conditions of kindergarten and to suggest the interior planning guidelines. Data were collected through questionniare survey including observations and interviews. The sample consisted of 262 kindergarten teachers in Pusav. The data were analyzed by using SPSS-PC. The major findings were as follows: (1) Interior finishes should be chosen based on children's behavioral and developmental characteristics. (2) Considering children's safety and teachers' easy access and observation, classrooms and teachers' room should be located at the first floor, and the public spaces such as playroom and assembly room should be located at the top floor because of noise and circulation problem. (3) The size fo the classroom should be increased based on children's age. (4) The teachers were generally satisfied with location, color, and finishes of each room. There was a significant difference between satisfaction of overall characteristics of rooms and theclasses that teachers are in charge of. (5) Children's developmental characteristics can be an important factor when designing a space for childrev. Even though there were some limitations on this study, the findings can be utilized as a basis for generating interior environmental recommendations for planning a better quality of kindergartev.

원더링 장비 적용을 통한 아스팔트 포장 거동 특성 연구 (A Study on Behavioral Characteristics of Asphalt Pavements using Wandering Measurement Devices)

  • 오늘날 도로포장은 중차량의 증가와 고온현상으로 인하여 도로파손이 급격하게 증가하고 있다. 이러한 이유로 한국도로공사에서는 시험도로운영센터를 설립하였으며, 여기서는 실제 도로에서의 상황을 모사하여 현장적용성이 우수한 데이터를 얻어 포장의 장기공용성 예측을 보다 효율적으로 하고자 하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 장기공용성 예측을 위하여 원더링 장비를 개발하고자 하였으며 이를 적용, 동적하중 재하시험을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 아스팔트 도로포장의 거동 특성을 파악하였다. 결과적으로 원더링을 적용하여 아스팔트 포장의 거동 특성을 해석한 결과 전 층 단면에서 영향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 원더링을 적용한 포장의 장기공용성 예측은 기존의 연구방법보다 정확한 예측이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

수치해석을 통한 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면부 거동특성 분석 및 설계차트 제시 (Numerical Analyses on the Behavioral Characteristics of Side of Drilled Shafts in Rocks and Suggestion of Design Charts)

  • 현장타설말뚝이 주면저항력에 의해서만 지지되는 상황은 천공홀 바닥을 청소할 수 없어서 선단부 지지력의 반현 여부를 확신할 수 없을 때이다. 반대로, 신선한 기반암이 낮은 강도의 상부 재료 하부에 있는 경우는 암반에서의 선단지지력만으로 상부 하중을 지탱할 수 있으며, 상부 재료에서는 지지력 발현을 기대하지 않아도 된다. 그러나 신선암에서 일정 깊이 천공을 실시한 경우, 현장타설말뚝은 주면저항력과 선단지지력 모두를 기대할 수 있다. 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 거동에 관한 이론적 연구와 현장 시험을 통하여 작용 하중의 대부분이 통상 주면저항력에 의해서 지지되게 된다는 사실이 알려져 있다. 암-콘크리트 접촉면에서의 수직응력은 두 가지 기구에 의해 증가하게 된다. 먼저, 말뚝 상부에 작용하는 압축하중에 의해서 콘크리트는 탄성 다이레이션이 발생하고 두 번째로 거친 천공홀 표면에서 전단 변위를 통해서 접촉면의 역학적 다이레이션이 발생되게 된다. 수직 변위에 대한 근입부 주변 물질의 강성도가 일정하면, 작용하중이 증가함에 따라서 수직응력은 증가하게 되며 따라서, 전단강도의 증가 현상이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 수치해석을 통하여 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면부 거동특성을 조사하였다. 또한, 두부의 하중-침하량(선단부 침하량+말뚝의 탄성변형량) 관계가 비선형성을 띠는 원인 및 파괴기구를 충분히 조사함으로써 암반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 주면저항력에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 모두 고려하여 국내 풍화암 및 연암에 근입되는 현장타설말뚝의 설계차트를 제시하고 이를 검증하였다.

지역사회의 환경적 특성이 개인의 음주문제에 미치는 영향에 관한 다수준분석 (Effects of the Community Environmental Characteristics on Drinking Problems of Adults: A Multilevel Analysis)

  • Objectives: This study aims to identify the effects of environmental characteristics of the community on adults' drinking problems with held constant effects of characteristics of drinkers themselves. Methods: A multi-level regression analysis was employed to differentiate the variances accounted for by measurements both at individual and group levels. Data on individual demographic, behavioral, and mental health status were obtained from the Community Health Survey conducted in 2009 in the province of Kyunggido, which include 41,376 respondents aged 19 and over. This study included 28,335 adults who were classified as drinkers. They were from 45 communities(si, gun, or gu) for which data on contextual characteristics were collected by secondary data available on local government websites and KOSIS(Korea Statistical Information System). Results: Multi-level analyses showed that the variance of the dependent variable, harmful use of alcohol measured by alcohol use disorder identification test was independently accounted for by variance of independent variables at group level, including number of on-premises alcohol outlet per inhabitant and divorce rate, with held other independent variables of the model controlled. Conclusions: This study confirms that in order to prevent and reduce harms caused by harmful use of alcohol requires restricting physical availability of alcohol in the community where the drinker lives.
