  • The received signal strengths according to the propagation distance between a transmitting shore station with a 53 m antenna hight and a receiving ship station with about 6m antenna hight from 700 m upto about 20 km are measured at ship's moving velocity of $5{\pm}1m/s$ using a single carrier signal at 150.0625MHz. In this paper, the path loss exponents at the propagation distance from 700 m to 20km are estimated via minimum-mean-square-error method using the measurements of the received signal strength, and the mean of the estimated path loss exponent become 3.79. The estimated propagation path loss exponents is similar to that calculated based on the field-strength values from 2 km to 20 km in Annex 2 of ITU-R P.1546-4, which is measuring results at maritime VHF at 100 MHz carrier frequency. Therefore, the estimated propagation path loss exponent shall be used as the expected path loss exponents for summer in costal area of South Sea of Korea.

  • As ICT Ecosystem does, electronic government changes in its form. Accordingly, in order to realize Smarter m-Gov, the governments need to vitalize m-Gov services and enact technology policy. Therefor, this manuscript suggests possible model of m-Gov realization and security algorithm as a technology policy which applies quantum cryptography system to server security for the construction of secured m-Gov's infrastructure. What the manuscript suggests seeks administrative ideas of Smarter m-Gov's services which contain security, stability, and economic feasibility for the benefits of nation and enterprises.

  • Bubble flow characteristics in fluidized beds were analyzed by CPFD simulation. A fluidized bed, which had the size of $0.3m-ID{\times}2.4m-high$, was modeled by commercial CPFD $Barracuda^{(R)}$. Properties of bed material were $d_p=150{\mu}m$, ${\rho}_p=2,330kg/m^3$, and $U_{mf}=0.02m/s$. Gas was uniformly distributed and the range of superficial gas velocity was 0.07 to 0.16 m/s. Two other geometries were modeled. The first was a three-dimensional model, and the other was a two-dimensional model of $0.01m{\times}0.3m{\times}2.4m$. Bubble size and rising velocity were simulated by axial and radial position according to superficial gas velocity. In the case of three-dimensional model, simulated bubble rising velocity was different from correlations, because there was zigzag motion in bubble flow, and bubble detection was duplicated. To exclude zigzag motion of bubble flow, bubble rising velocity was simulated in the two-dimensional model and compared to the result from three-dimensional model.

  • Effects of Pb and $CO_2$ on soil microbial community associated with Pinus densiflora were investigated using community level physiological profiles (CLPP) and 16S rDNA PCR-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) methods. Two-years pine trees were planted in Pb-contaminated soils and uncontaminated soils, and cultivated for 3 months in the growth chamber where $CO_2$ concentration was controlled at 380 or 760 ppmv. The structure of microbial community was analyzed in 6 kinds of soil samples (CA-0M : $CO_2$ 380 ppmv + Pb 0 mg/kg + initial, CB-0M : $CO_2$ 380 ppmv + Pb 500 mg/kg + initial, CA-3M : $CO_2$ 380 ppmv + Pb 0 mg/kg + after 3 months, CB-3M : $CO_2$ 380 ppmv + Pb 500 mglkg + after 3 months, EA-3M : $CO_2$ 760 ppmv + Pb 0 mg/kg + after 3 months, EB-3M : $CO_2$ 760 ppmv + Pb 500 mg/kg + after 3 months). After 3 months, the substrate utilization in the uncontaminated soil samples (CA-3M vs EA-3M) was not significantly influenced by $CO_2$ concentrations. However, the substrate utilization in the Pb-contaminated soil samples (CB-3M vs EB-3M) was enhanced by the elevated $CO_2$ concentrations. The results of principal component analysis based on substrate utilization activities showed that the structure of microbial community structure in each soil sample was grouped by Pb-contamination. The similarities of DGGE fingerprints were 56.3 % between the uncontaminated soil samples (CA-3M vs EA-3M), and 71.4% between the Pb-contaminated soil samples (CB-3M vs. EB-3M). The similarities between the soil samples under $CO_2$ 380 ppmv (CA-3M vs CB-3M) and $CO_2$, 760 ppmv (EA-3M vs EB-3M) were 53.3% and 35.8%, respectively. These results suggested that the structure of microbial community associated with Pinus densiflora were sensitively specialized by Pb-contamination rather than $CO_2$ concentration.
