  • In this paper, a 1,200 V Si-based IGBT used in electric vehicles and new energy industries was designed. A field stop IGBT with a separate gate structure, which is the proposed structure, was designed to change trench depth and split gate width variables. Then, the general trench structure and electrical characteristics were compared and analyzed. As a result of conducting the trench depth experiment, it was confirmed that the breakdown voltage was the highest at 6 ㎛, and the on-state voltage drop was the lowest at 3.5 ㎛. In the separate gate width experiment, it was confirmed that the breakdown voltage decreased as the variable increased, and the on-state voltage drop increased. Therefore, it may be seen that it is preferable not to change the width of the separate gate. In addition, experiments show that there is no difference in on-state voltage drop compared to a structure in which a general field stop structure has a separate gate structure. In other words, it is determined that adding a dummy gate with a separate gate structure to the active cell will significantly improve the on-voltage drop characteristics, while confirming that the on-voltage drop does not change, and while having excellent characteristics in terms of breakdown voltage.

  • Recently, the collision problems between a bridge and a navigating ship are frequently issued at the stage of structure design. Even the many study results about vessel to vessel collision are presented, but the collision studies between vessel and bridge structure have been hardly presented. In this study, nonlinear dynamic analysis of vessel and fender system carry out using ABAQUS/Explicit commercial program with consideration of some parameters, such as bow structure we composed to shell element also ship's hull is modeling to beam element. Also, buoyancy effect is considered as spring element. The two types of fender systems was comparable with both collision analysis about steel materials fender system and rubber fender system On the purpose of study is analyzed the plasticity dissipated energy of vessel and fender system. We blow characteristic that kinetic energy is disappeared by plastic large deformation in case of collision. Also, We considered dissipated kinetic energy considering friction effect.

  • Performance-based seismic design allows a structure to develop inelastic response during earthquakes. This modern seismic design requires more clearly defined levels of inelastic response. The ultimate deformation of a structure without total collapse (target displacement) is used to obtain the inelastic deformation capacity (inelastic performance). The inelastic performance of a structure indicates its performance under excitation. In this study, a new energy-based method to obtain the target displacement for reinforced concrete frames under cyclic loading is proposed. Concrete structures were analyzed using nonlinear static (pushover) analysis and cyclic loading. Failure of structures under cyclic loading was controlled and the new method was tested to obtain target displacement. In this method, the capacity energy absorption of the structures for both pushover and cyclic analyses were considered to be equal. The results were compared with FEMA-356, which confirmed the accuracy of the proposed method.

  • Beijing, as a cradle of modern industry and the third largest metropolitan area in China, faces more responsibilities to adjust industrial structure and mitigate carbon emissions. The purpose of this study is aimed at predicting and comparing industrial carbon emissions of Beijing in ten scenarios under different policy focus, and then providing emission-cutting recommendations. In views of various scenarios issues, system dynamics has been applied to predict and simulate. To begin with, the model has been established following the step of causal loop diagram and stock flow diagram. This paper decomposes scenarios factors into energy structure, high energy consumption enterprises and growth rate of industrial output. The prediction and scenario simulation results shows that energy structure, carbon intensity and heavy energy consumption enterprises are key factors, and multiple factors has more significant impact on industrial carbon emissions. Hence, some recommendations about low-carbon mode of Beijing industrial carbon emission have been proposed according to simulation results.

  • The roof grid of single-layer space frame structure, for Energy Core of Incheon Airport Second Terminal, is very simple and aesthetic, but it is apt to buckle under external force because of mild curvature and complex shape. The object of this study is to estimate the stability of single-layer space frame structures for Energy Core of Incheon Airport Second Terminal with the analytical conditions of structural design. The results show that the buckling load of model(pin-pin, uniform load, rigid joint), that is, the most similar model to the analytical conditions of structural design. was $10.7kN/m^2$.

  • Energy harvesting from the vibration through the piezoelectric effect has been studied for powering the wireless sensor node. As piezoelectric unimorph cantilever structure can transfer low vibration to large displacement, this structure was commonly deployed to harvest electric energy from vibrations. Piezoelectric unimorph structure was composed of small stiff piezoelectric ceramic on the large flexible substrate. As there is the large Young's modulus difference between the flexible substrate and stiff piezoelectric ceramic, flexible substrate could not homogeneously transfer the vibration to stiff piezoelectric ceramic. As a result, most piezoelectric ceramics had been broken at the certain point. We measured and analyzed the stress distribution on the piezoelectric ceramic on the cantilever.

  • Recently derived energy dissipation equation by Chamani(2008) and the profile function of the free overfall by Marchi(1993) were verified with present experiment data. The experiment was conducted in hydraulic laboratory, Hanyang University where the flume is 7m long and 0.44m wide, and the height of the drop structure is 0.205m. Water depth and free overfall profile data were collected using an ultra sonic distance sensor and photographic images. The time-averaged water depth data and the free overfall profile were analyzed to examine the energy dissipation pattern over the drop structure

  • The problem considered in this theoretical paper is the delamination of a multilayered inhomogeneous beam structure that has viscoelastic behaviour under angle of twist, horizontal and vertical displacements which vary smoothly with time according to prescribed laws. The cross-section of the beam is a rectangle. The layers are made of different materials which are smoothly inhomogeneous along the length of the beam. The beam under consideration represents statically undetermined structure since it is clamped in its two ends. The problem of the strain energy release rate is solved. For this purpose, the strain energy stored in the beam structure is analyzed. In order to verify the solution obtained, the strain energy release rate is found also analyzing the time-dependent compliances of the beam under prescribed angle of twist and displacements. A parametric investigation is carried-out by applying the solution obtained. Special attention is paid to the effect of the parameters which control the variation of the angle of twist and the displacements with time on the strain energy release rate.
