  • Water-Electrolyzed gas is a mixed gas of the constant volume ratio 2:1 of Hydrogen and Oxygen gained from electrolyzed water, and it has better characteristics in the field of economy, efficiency of energy, and environmental intimacy than acetylene gas and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) used for existing gas welding equipment. So studies of Water-Electrolyzed gas are activity in progress nowaday, and commercially used as a source of thermal energy for gas welding in the industry. The object of this paper is getting a V-I characteristic of Hydrogen-Oxygen Gas Generator using DC source. First, chemical analysis of electrolysis is conducted and the relation of electrical energy and then chemical energy is investigated through the faraday's laws.

  • This paper describes the design and fabrication of a low frequency vibration driven high-efficiency electromagnetic energy harvester based on FR(Flame Resistance)-4 spring which converts mechanical energy into useful electrical power. The fabricated generator consists of a vertically polarized NdFeB permanent magnet attached to the center of spring and a planar type copper coil which has higher efficiency compare with cylindrical type coil. ANSYS finite analysis and Matlab were used to determine the resonance frequency and output power. The generator is capable of producing up to 1.36 $V_{pp}$ at 9 Hz, which has the maximum power of 639 ${\mu}W$ with a load resistance of $3.25k{\Omega}$.

  • Nowadays, source of MEMS, USN, Hybrid parts pay attention to energy harvesting. On this paper, energy harvesting was studied using piezoelectric effect. And, piezoelectric generator was designed and fabricated. Generators were designed by FEM simulation program and generators were made by attaching cymbal type metal plates on upper and bottom sides of a disc type piezoelectric ceramic. Using fabricated generators, output voltages dependant on thickness of ceramic, displacement of vibration, frequency of vibration were measured.

  • This project studied a new generator utilizing the Seebeck effect. The major objective of this study was to prove the baseline concept through experimental studies. The important results from this study included design and fabrication of a laboratory scale generating system. The generating capacity of the TE-generator was 500Watt. The preliminary testing results showed the system efficiency of close to 20%. The experimental testing system has been built to include heating element, circulation pump and the instrumentation system included watt-hour meter, temperature sensor, and data acquisition system by the Hewlett-Packard 75000 Series.

  • This work presents the influence of noise originating from the tube itself on the detectability and sizing accuracy for laboratory-induced outer diameter axial cracks in nuclear steam generator tubes. The variations of signal amplitude and phase angle of the same cracks were analyzed when increasing the signal-to-noise ratio of the tube itself from 9 to 18. It was experimentally verified that the detectability for small cracks was enhanced by increasing the signal-to-noise ratio. The phase angle also rotated to a value representing the actual position and depth of a crack when increasing the signal-to-noise ratio.

  • For sodium cooling liquid metal reactors during the last 25 years, it was most important to verify the safety of the steam generator, which absolutely requires a water leak detection system with fine sensitivity and response. This study describes the structure and leak classification of the HAMMER (Korea Advanced Liquid Metal Reactor) steam generator, compared with other classifications, and explains the effects of leak development. The requirements and experimental situations for the development of the KALIMER acoustic leak detection system (KADS) which detects micro leaks, not intermediate leaks, are introduced. We proposed four frequency bands, 1∼8kHz, 8∼20kHz, 20∼40kHz and 40∼200kHz, split effectively for analyzing the detected acoustic leak signals obtained from the sodium-water reaction model or water model in the mock-up system.

  • Many nuclear power plants have experienced unscheduled shutdown due to the leakage of steam generator tubes. The leakages are normally due to the crack, possibly stress corrosion cracking (SCC) near the tube expansion at the top of tubesheet or at the tangential point of the row-1 U-bend region. The conventional eddy current technique, which makes use of a differential bobbin coil, has been found to be inadequate for the early detection of SCC. During the in-service inspection, therefore, it is a general practice that the rotating pancake coil (RPC) is used for detecting the cracks. Even in using RPC, however, it is difficult to determine the depth of the cracks quantitatively. This paper attempts to determine the detectability and sizing ability of RPC technique for axial or circumferential cracks at the tube expansion region. The simulated cracks with various dimensions were fabricated by electro-discharge machining (EDM) method. Experimental results are discussed with theoretical calculations.

The power transformation device can check inverse current in the power of the solar cell module and control the power of the battery. And we present the design of landscape lighting power control system. The power control system uses microprocessor with charging system and power transformation device. And also it can control the power of loads under consideration intensity of illumination. The landscape lighting loads are composed of LED(Lighting Emitting Diode) and HID(High Intensity Discharge)lamps. To evaluate property, we installed the solar cell array which generate three kilo watt power. Experimental results show that the proposed system can have stability and energy saving on the mixed configuration of electric loads with DC and AC lamps.

  • Human power is not dependent on other energy sources, but rather is a source of power for ourselves. Human power, the cleanest energy in the world, can be our future. Therefore, we should be interested in sustainable alternative energy. This paper solves the uneven power generation by utilizing the energy storage capability of the flywheel. Therefore, it improved the efficiency by 5% compared to the existing generation method. DC generators produce power at variable speed operation. The constant voltage was generated from the DC-DC converter to the duty ratio control. Therefore, the charging efficiency is improved by 5% by the constant voltage charging of the battery. And it can suppress the decrease of the output due to the circulation current due to the deviation of the output voltage in parallel operation of the pedal generator.
