Since PV PCS uses output current sensor for ac output current control, the sensor's sensing value includes unnecessary offset inevitably. If PV inverter is controlled by the included offset value, it's output current will generate DC offset. The DC offset of output current for trans-less PV inverter is fatal to grid, which results in saturating grid side transformer. Usually DSP controller of PV inverter reads several times sensing value during initial operation and, finally, it's average value is used for offset calibration. However, if temperature changes, the offset changes, too. Therefore, output current sensor measures sensing value that includes offset again. In this paper we propose new algorithm where two identical forward and reverse sensors are used to calculate the offset in real time. As a result the offset is not correlated with temperature change. The proposed algorithm is verified through PSIM simulation for validity.

The Tomographic Gamma Scan (TGS) technique partitions radioactive waste drums into $10{\times}10{\times}16$ voxels and assays both the density and concentration of radioactivity for each voxel thus providing for improved accuracy, when compared to the traditional Non-Destructive Assay(NDA) techniques. It could decrease the degree of precision measurement since there is a trade-off between spatial resolution and precision. This latter drawback is compensated by expanding the Region of Interest (ROI) that differentiates the full energy peaks, which, in turn, results in an optimized degree of precision. The enlarged ROI, however, increases the probability of interference among those nuclides that emit energies in the adjacent spectrum. This study has identified the cause of such interference for the reference nuclide of the TGS technique, $^{137}Cs$ (661.66 keV, half-life 30.5 years), to be $^{110m}Ag$ (657.75 keV, half-life 249.76 days). A new calibration method of determining the optimized ROI was developed, and its effectiveness in accurately characterizing $^{137}Cs$ and eliminating the interference was further ascertained.
A relative-calibration-method of solid-state-track-detector for measurement of radon in air has been developed, and the concentration of radon in each room of a 15th-floor-apartment was measured by using the relative calibrated SSTD. There is a tendency to decrease the concentration of radon when the floor is higher, but the main factor to reduce the concentration of radon in room appeared to be ventilation rate. Average concentration of radon of the 15th-floor-apartment was $1.50{\pm}0.51pCi/l$, and the highest and the lowest concentration of radon were $2.68{\pm}0.32pCi/l$, $0.69{\pm}0.16pCi/l$ respectively.
In this study, the recovery rates of the dissolution method for radioactivity analysis of expandable polystyrene (EPS) with a liquid scintillation counter (LSC) using tetrahydrofuran (THF), toluene, and acetone as solvents were estimated. The detection efficiency calibration curve for each solvent was derived. Two methods-the volumetric ratio method and the quenching agent method-were used to prepare quench source sets, and calibration curves were derived by linking the data from the two quench source sets. The R2 value of the calibration curve for THF was found to be 0.984. The relationship between the mass of dissolved EPS and the quench level was estimated: the quench level increased as the mass of dissolved EPS increased. Premix and postmix dissolution methods were tested. The recovery rates using THF with the premix method were 84.9 ± 0.9% and 96.5 ± 1.5% for 3H and 14C, respectively. Furthermore, the stability of the recovery rate over time when using THF was evaluated. The dissolution method with the premixed solution exhibited a more stable recovery rate over time. The dissolution methods were found to be applicable for analysis using LSC, and THF was found to be the most suitable solvent for the proposed method.
And also, the switch device is not ideal, both each switching element of the voltage drop difference and on & off time delay difference generate DC offset. Thus, to compensate for deadtime and the switch voltage drop, feedback control by output current DC offset should be provided to compensate additional distortion of the output current. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed through PSIM simulation.

ASTRO-F /FIS will carry out all sky survey in the wavelength from 50 to 200 ${\mu}m$. At far infrared, stars and galaxies may not be good calibration sources because the IR fluxes could be sensitive to the dust shell of stars and star formation activities of galaxies. On the other hand, asteroids could be good calibration sources at far infrared because of rather simple spectral energy distribution. Recent progresses in thermal models for asteroids enable us to calculate the far infrared flux fairly accurately. We have derived the Bond albedos and diameters for 559 asteroids based on the IRAS and ground based optical data. Using these thermal parameters and standard thermal model, we have calculated the spectral energy distributions of asteroids from 10 to 200 ${\mu}m$. We have found that more than $70\%$ of our sample asteroids have flux errors less than $10\%$ within the context of the best fitting thermal models. In order to assess flux uncertainties due to model parameters, we have computed SEDs by varing external parameters such as emissivity, beaming parameter and phase integral. We have found that about 100 asteroids can be modeled to be better than $5.8\%$ of flux uncertainties. The systematic effects due to uncertainties in phase integral are not so important.
Monte Carlo (MC) simulations are increasingly being used as an alternative or supplement to the gamma spectrometric method in determining the full energy peak efficiency (FEPE) necessary for radionuclide identification and quantification. The MC method is more advantageous than the experimental method in terms of both cost and time. Experimental calibration with standard sources is difficult, especially for specimens with unusually shaped geometries. However, with MC, efficiency values can be obtained by modeling the geometry as desired without using any calibration source. Modeling the detector with the correct parameters is critical in the MC method. These parameters given to the user by the manufacturer are especially the dimensions of the crystal and its front edge, the thickness of the dead layer, dimensions, and materials of the detector components. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the front edge geometry of the detector crystal on efficiency, so the effect of rounded and sharp modeled front edges on the FEPE was investigated for <300 keV with three different HPGe detectors in point and volume source geometries using PHITS MC code. All results showed that the crystal should be modeled as a rounded edge, especially for gamma-ray energies below 100 keV.
Miniaturized tissue equivalent proportional counters (mini-TEPCs) are proper for radiation dosimetry in medical application because the small size of the dosimeter could prevent pile-up effect under the high intensity of therapeutic beam. However, traditional methods of calibrating mini-TEPCs using internal alpha sources are not feasible due to their small size. In this study, we investigated the use of electron and proton edges on Monte Carlo-generated lineal energy spectra as markers for calibrating a 0.9 mm diameter and length mini-TEPC. Three possible markers for each spectrum were calculated and compared using different simulation tools. Our simulations showed that the electron edge markers were more consistent across different simulation tools than the proton edge markers, which showed greater variation due to differences in the microdosimetric spectra. In most cases, the second marker, yδδ, had the smallest uncertainty. Our findings suggest that the lineal energy spectra from mini-TEPCs can be calibrated using Monte Carlo simulations that closely resemble real-world detector and source geometries.
Absorbed dose to water based protocols recommended that plane-parallel chambers be calibrated against calibrated cylindrical chambers in a high energy electron beam with $R_{50}$>7 $g/cm^2$ (E${\gtrsim}$16 MeV). However, such high-energy electron beams are not available at all radiotherapy centers. In this study, we are compared the absorbed dose to water determined according to cross-calibration method in a high energy electron beam of 16 MeV and in electron beam energies of 12 MeV below the cross-calibration quality remark. Absorbed dose were performed for PTW 30013, Wellhofer FC65G Farmer type cylindrical chamber and for PTW 34001, Wellhofer PPC40 Roos type plane-parallel chamber. The cylindrical and the plane-parallel chamber to be calibrated are compared by alternately positioning each at reference depth, $Z_{ret}=0.6R_{50}-0.1$ in water phantom. The $D_W$ of plane-parallel chamber are derived using across-calibration method at high-energy electron beams of 16, 20 MeV. Then a good agreement is obtained the $D_W$ of plane-parallel chamber in 12 MeV. The agreement between 20 MeV and 12 MeV are within 0.2% for IAEA TRS-398.

This paper briefly discusses the main sources of errors and their solutions for measuring hydrogen uptake from gas phase by the Sieverts technique. Correction of volumetric errors of apparatus, density of hydrogen storage material, estimation of temperature gradient are investigated. Systematic errors and the change of density of the host material according to the pressure have been the subject of much controversy in recent years. We considered the standard ball calibration, temperature gradient distribution, pretreatment of hydrogen storage materials to minimize errors. We could lessen the miscalculations after applying those methods to Equilibrium pressure-composition isotherm data.
