냉기의 가치평가 및 냉방비 배분방법론 제안 (Suggestion of the Worth Evaluation of Cool Air and the Allocation Methodology of Cooling Cost)

  • Our government will make a plan regulating the cooling limit temperature of the summer season to 26 degree and the heating limit temperature of the winter season to 20 degree for energy saving. Where, the key point of this politic pursuit can be the charge system on heating and cooling cost. We have suggested new cost allocation methodology as a worth evaluation method in the precedent study, and preformed the worth evaluation and cost allocation on four kind of warm air produced from a heating system as an example. In this study, we applied the suggested method to four kind of cool air, and preformed the worth evaluation and cost allocation on each cool air. As a result, similarly to the precedent study, the more energy a customer saved, the more cooling unit cost decreased, and the more energy a customer consumed, the more cooling unit cost increased. From this analysis, we hope that the suggested methodology can offer a theoretical basis to the energy charge policy of government, and induce the spontaneous energy saving of consumers.

  • U.S. National Research Council proposed benefits framework for energy R&D project as economic benefits, environmental benefits, security benefits and knowledge benefits. Following this framework, U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory evaluated the projected benefits of Federal Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Programs in the indicators of energy-expenditure savings, energy system cost savings, $CO_2$ emissions reductions. oil savings, natural gas saving and avoided additions to central conventional power. As this result, geothermal energy have predominant position in the energy-expenditure savings, natural gas saving and avoided addi t ions to central conventional power to FY2050. The projected benefits, in monetary value, of the whole supply-potential of geothermal energy in Korea were evaluated as 480.2 billion Won, 43.1 billion Won and 135.8 billion Won for the private energy-cost savings, social environmental-cost savings, and import energy-cost saving, respectively.

신재생 에너지와 기존 발전기술과의 투자리스크 요인별 민감도 비교 (The Sensitivity Comparison of Each Risk Factors Analysis on Renewable Energy and Other Generating Technologies)

  • Recently, electricity industry is facing high market uncertainty which has ever had and which increase risks in power market. In this study, we analyze risk factors such as discount rates, initial investment (overnight cost), plant factor, fuel cost, carbon price, etc, for the perspective of investor. For the analysis of risk factors, we used LCOE method. The results of this study show that renewable energy is more affected by plant factor and overnight cost than other risk factors. First, Renewable energy has higher proportion of overnight cost in the total investment than that of other technologies. Second, renewable energy is free of fuel cost and carbon price so plant factor is the most important factor, in other words, competitiveness of renewable energy depends on plant factor. Furthermore, we conducted economic feasibility of wind power and PV in domestic case study. The minimum requirement condition to get profitability is that plant factor 15% and overnight cost \6,000,000/kW and 26%, \2,200,000/kW for PV and Wind Power, respectively.

  • For a central cooling system of a medical facility composed of absorption chiller and screw chiller, the study was conducted on how to minimize the energy cost. In consideration of the energy cost, the optimal operation method in which the operation method of the heat source is changed according to the size of the cooling load was derived through simulation analysis. When applying the optimal operation method, the indoor environment, energy consumption, and energy cost were analyzed and compared with the reference operation method.

겨울철 신축 공동주택의 플러쉬아웃 시행 시 난방비용에 관한 연구 (Study of Energy Cost for Performing Flush-out in Newly Constructed Multi-residential Buildings during Winter Season)

  • Newly constructed multi-residential buildings with more than 500 households should be flushed out indoor contaminants using a mechanical ventilation system or large fans after the completion of construction and prior to occupancy by the Heath-friendly Housing Construction Standards since 2014. In addition, the standard recommends to maintain indoor temperature over $16^{\circ}C$ and relative humidity below 60% while performing the flush-out. However, it is difficult to maintain these recommended indoor conditions, especially during winter season because additional energy cost is needed for space heating. Therefore, in this study, additional energy cost including heating and ventilation energy cost in multi-residential household for flush-out during winter season was estimated using building energy simulation program called EnergyPlus. Additional energy cost according to various conditions for performing flush-out (such as performance period, ventilation rate, and heating set-point temperature) was analyzed. Based on the results of the energy simulation, the energy cost was estimated to be ranged from 14,625 to 29,452\/household in Incheon city and from 3,521 to 26,268\/household in Gwangju City. There was no significant change in energy cost according to the performing terms of flush-out between Incheon and Gwangju City.

평균풍속 및 유가변동에 따른 최적 마이크로그리드 구성 (The Optimal Microgrid Configuration Depending on the Change of Average Wind Speed and Fuel Cost)

  • This paper presents the optimal network configuration for electric stations using HOMER software. For the given data such as annual average wind speed and grid costs, this software calculates the NPC(Net Present Cost), operating cost and COE(Cost of Energy). Based on these simulation results, it is possible to find the optimal network configuration for electric stations depending on the grid cost and average wind speed. When the rising grid cost is considered, it is essential to use grid and renewable energy together. Depending on the increase of the grid cost, NPC of the configuration using renewable energy and grid can be gradually getting smaller than NPC of the configuration using only grid.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the energy saving and cost benefit analysis of the Low-income Energy Efficiency Treatment Program supported by KOREF(Korea Energy Foundation). This program was launched in 2007 and performs building energy retrofit for the low-income and energy poverty houses. Method: Energy simulation and cost benefit analysis were accomplished for the low-income detached houses. The structure of detached house was a lot og block structure, wood frame (single glass) and concrete roof. Baseline model of the low-income detached houses was proposed. Result: Annual heating energy consumptions were decreased by about 3.2% with the window system replacement(Case 1), 9.3% with reinforcement of insulation(Case2), and 12.5% with both(Case 3) compared to those of baseline model. The construction cost will be recouped within 5 years for the Case 1, 3 years for the Case 2, and 3 years for the Case 3. Case 3 was the most cost beneficient construction method in the analyzed cases in this study.

청주시 저소득 가구의 가정 에너지 비용 부담 경험과 인식 (Low-income Households' Experiences and Perception of Home Energy Cost Burdens in Cheongju, South Korea)

  • This study explored low-income households' experiences and perception of home energy cost burdens and determinants of the perceived home energy cost burdens. Between March and July 2014, a questionnaire survey was administered in Cheongju, South Korea. Among the 434 useable responses collected, responses from 218 households with monthly income less than 2,500,000 Korean Won (KRW) were compared with those of 216 households with higher incomes. The main findings are as follows. In the past three years, more than 10 percent of low-income households had had their electricity cut off; 5.7 percent had had their city gas cut off. To pay for their home energy expenses, nearly 70 percent of the low-income households had had to limit their heating, cooling or spending for other necessities; 38.3 percent had to borrow money. Low-income households reported more problems paying for home energy than higher-income households did. Households with more negative evaluation of rainwater leak, no one staying at home all day, monthly income less than 1,500,000 KRW and householders in their 40s and 50s tended to perceive a heavier home energy cost burden. Finally, the most popular support programs were fuel assistance and discounts on energy bills.

철도노선의 생애주기비용에서 노반건설비와 에너지비용의 상대적 비중 분석 - 경부고속철도 사례를 중심으로 (Comparison of Relative Weights of Cost for Road-bed Construction and Energy on Life Cycle Cost of Railroad -in Case of Seoul-pusan High Speed Rail)

  • 철도노선은 도로노선과 달리 운행비용, 특히 에너지비용이 전체 생애주기 비용에서 차지하는 비중이 높은 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 경부고속철도의 사례를 중심으로 철도 노반건설비와 에너지비용의 상대적 비중을 분석하였다. 이는 최근 활발하게 연구가 이루어지고 있는 전산화된 철도선형 최적화가 단순히 건설비 최소화만을 목적으로 할 수 없으며, 에너지 비용을 포함한 전반적인 생애주기 비용의 최소화를 목표로 하여야 함을 의미한다. 경부고속철도 운행실적이 아직 10년에 불과하기 때문에 향후 20년간의 운영 시나리오를 다양하게 설정하여 분석한 결과, 에너지비용이 건설비용의 10~30% 수준으로 나타났으며, 이는 일반적으로 알려진 비중보다 낮은 수치이다. 철도 선형 최적화를 위한 방법론 정립에 있어 에너지 비용을 고려할 경우, 그 상대적 비중을 고려할 수 있는 방안을 제시한데 본 연구의 의미가 있을 것이다.

해상 풍력발전의 경제성 분석 (Estimation of Cost of Energy for Offshore Wind Turbines)

  • Large offshore wind farms have actively been developed in order to meet the needs for wind energy since the land-based wind farms have almost been fully developed especially in Europe. The key problem for the construction of offshore wind farms may be on the high cost of energy compared to land-based ones. NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) has developed a spreadsheet-based tool to estimate the cost of wind-generated electricity from both land-based and offshore wind turbines. Component formulas for various kinds and scales of wind turbines were made using available field data. Annual energy production has been estimated based on the Weibull probability distributions of wind. In this paper, this NREL estimation model is introduced and applied to the offshore wind turbines now under designing or in production in Korea, and the result is discussed.
