Analysis on Enameled Container with Different Coating Thicknesses of Enamel in Pyrolysis Process (법랑공정에서 Enamel 도포두께에 따른 강판 용기의 변형 메커니즘 분석)

  • To predict the thermal deformation of an oven cabinet during the enamel process, we propose a simple finite element analysis method comprising two steps: heating and cooling. To this end, the basic mechanical and thermal properties such as thermal expansion of the enamel and steel plate were experimentally studied, and the mechanical properties of four different stainless steel (SUS) plates were evaluated to select the target material for the oven at high temperature conditions from 400 ℃ to 700 ℃. In the first analysis step of the enamel process, the SUS plate was heated to 850 ℃ and was then thermally expanded without considering the enamel coating. Next, assuming the perfect bonding of two materials (enamel coating and metal plate), the enamel plate was allowed to cool to room temperature till 22 ℃. From the results of comparing the experimental and analytical data, we can make a conclusion that the proposed method can be applied to evaluate the thermal deformation of enamel products. Especially, the thermal deformation of the oven can be predicted with different enamel coating conditions, such as uniform and nonuniform coating thickness.

A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF DENTIN BONDING AGENTS APPLIED OVER ENAMEL ABOUT THE BOND STRENGTH OF COMPOSITE RESIN (접착강화제가 치아경조직과의 접착강도 변화에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of dentin bonding agents on the bond strength of composite resin restorations in case of applying the dentin bonding agents to acid etched enamel surfaces. Freshly extracted 364 bovine anterior teeth were selected as a adherents. 320 enamel specimens were divided into two groups(unetched group (1) and etched group (2) for testing the shear bond strength, 40 specimens were used for the hardness testing, and 4 specimens of rest were to observe the resin-tag formation into etched enamel surfaces. All surfaces of enamel specimens were polished with 320~1500 SiC paper under continuous running water. In Group (1), 100 enamel specimens were polished and unetched. 220 polished enamel specimens in Group (2) were etched with 37 % phosphoric acid solution for 60 seconds, washed with water for 20 seconds, and dried with a light air pressure for 60 seconds. Three kinds of dentin bonding agents(Gluma, Prisma, Scotchbond 2) were evaluated the effect on the bond strength to conditioned enamel surfaces. Shear bond strengths were measured on the three cases such as a coating of primer only, a coating of sealer only, and a sequential coating of primer and sealer to acid etched enamel surfaces were compared with the bond strengths measured by the coating of enamel bonding agent followed by the bonding of composite resin (Photo clearfil bright, Kuraray, Japan) to unetched and acid etched enamel surfaces. In addition, the hardness tested on the adhesive fractured surface between composite resin enamel as a mean of evaluation of a factor whether the mechanical bond strengths were affected and the penetration of dentin bonding agents into etched enamel surfaces was also observed. Bond strengths were measured using the method of shear bond strength by a universal testing machine (Instron-4467, USA), statistical test were applied to the results using a one way analysis variance(ANOVA), and hardness was measured by the Vicker's Hardness Tester(MHT-i, Matsuzawa, Japan) and the penetration of the resins were observed by the SEM (Hitachi, S-2300, Japan). The following conclusions were drawn; 1. Enamel bonding agent showed to affect the improvement of bond strength of composite resin to enamel surface both unetched and etched. 2. Dentin bonding agents could be resulted in increase of bond strength to unetched enamel surface, but there were no statistical significances. 3. Bond strengths to etched enamel surface were significantly decreased with a coating of dentin primer only. 4. Coating of sealer only and coating of primer and sealer noticed the similar bond strengths of composite resin to etched enamel using the enamel bonding agents. 5. The applying method proved to be more effective than the kinds of dentin bonding agents on the bond strength of composite resin to etched enamel than the kind of dentin. 6. Vicker's hardness numbers of dentin bonding agents were lower than that of composite resin, but the degree of penetration of dentin bonding agents into etched enamel surfaces was excellent.

Study on the Superlubricity and Running-in Period of Vitreous Enamel Coating using Phosphoric Acid (인산을 이용한 법랑 코팅의 초윤활성 및 초기 시간에 대한 연구)

  • Superlubricity refers to the lubrication phenomenon that occurs when the friction coefficient is lower than 0.01. In recent years, this phenomenon has received a significant amount of attention because it can greatly contribute to the reduction of economic and environmental losses caused by friction and wear. In the case of acid lubricants, only ceramic materials can be used for superlubricity, and it takes a long running-in period to enter the superlubricity regime. In this work, we investigated the superlubricity effect of vitreous enamel coating on SUS304. We also examined the running-in period of vitreous enamel coating under phosphoric acid lubricant condition with respect to surface treatments. Drying and polishing methods were used to treat the vitreous enamel coating on the specimen. The friction experimental results revealed that superlubricity could be achieved with vitreous enamel coating. It was also found that the drying and polishing methods can significantly reduce the running-in period and improve the wear properties of vitreous enamel coating. In particular, the polishing method shortened the running-in period by approximately 99% and reduced the wear rate by approximately 99%, compared to nontreated vitreous enamel coating.

  • A lot of VOCs that is noxious ate exhausted at drying process of enamel coating device. This VOC gas can be incinerated perfectly through catalytic combustion, and heat that is occurred in incineration process ran be again used in drying process. By using VU catalytic combustion technology, in this study, we developed a enamel coating machine that have an excellent environment improvement and energy saying effect. As basic research for this development characteristics ana performance of catalytic combustion for VOC gas was evaluated and numerical analysis for drying oven was calculated. According to the result, VOCs combustion characteristics of metal form catalysis was excellent in high temperature, and it was seen that enamel coating machine should be designed as a precious controllable structure of recirculating supply rate and suction rate.

  • A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of enamel coating on boat hull drag. The results were compared with drag required for varnished uncoated boats. Models of rice barge and fishing boat were used in this study. The speed range of 0.6 to 1.5㎧ at different loads varying from 6 to 9 kg for rice barge and 4.6 to 6.4kg for fishing boats were used during testing. The total weight of the coated and uncoated boats were kept the same. It was observed that the drag force required by the coated boats was less than identical uncoated ones at all speeds and loads. For both uncoated and coated the drag required increased with speed. The maximum recorded reductions in drag were 26% for the rice barge and 28% for the fishing boat model.

  • Laser beam machining (LBM) is fast, contactless and able to machine various materials. So it is used to cut metal, drill holes, weld or pattern the imprinted surface. However, after LBM, there still leave burrs and recast layers around the machined area. In order to remove these unwanted parts, LBM process often uses electrochemical etching (ECE). But, the total thickness of workpiece is reduced because the etching process removes not only burrs and recast layers, but also the entire surface. In this paper, surface coating was performed using enamel after LBM on metal. The recast layer can be selectively removed without decreasing total thickness. Comparing with LBM process only, the surface quality of enamel coating process was better than that. And edge shape was also maintained after ECE.

Numerical Study of Heat Transfer Characteristics and Thermal Stress for Enamel coating Heat Exchanger in High Temperature Firing Process (법랑코팅 열교환기에서 고온 소성공정에 따른 열전달 및 열응력에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to obtain basic data on the optimization of firing process conditions for enamel coating in chemical heat exchanger. The method of increasing the firing temperature in order to apply enamel coating to shell & tube type heat exchanger was examined. The temperature distribution of the heat exchanger in the firing kiln was numerically calculated using a commercial CFD program. The structural safety of the heat exchanger was confirmed by thermal stress analysis using the FSI method. Numerical analysis and experimental results show that there is a problem of safety due to temperature difference when the heat exchanger at room temperature is directly put into a firing kiln at 860℃. Therefore, a preheating process is need to reduce the temperature difference. As in Case2 with fewer firing steps, the first stage preheating temperature of 445℃and the second stage firing temperature of 860 ℃are considered to be most suitable.

  • Current research aimed at investigating of heat-resistance of magnet wire to endow miniaturizing electronic equipment with a high efficiency or reliability. Thermal stability of magnet wire has a close relationship with physical properties of polymeric coating that is formed from enamel varnish. Design of heat-resistant enamel varnish and coating technology of varnish solution were briefly described. Some factors which have a thermal effect on wire were discussed through the evaluation method of the wire properties.

  • Objectives : The fluoride coating for caries prevention and strengthen enamel use NaF(sodium fluoride, Junsei Chemical Co., Ltd, Japan) 2% gel, SnF2(stannous fluoride, SIGMA-ALDRICH Gmbh, USA)8% gel and APF(acidulated phosphate fluoride, Sultan health care, USA) 1.23% gel. Methods : After put the enamel piece in these fluoride compound gel, we observed density level. And after measuring the vickers hardness, Got the following conclusions. Results : 1. After settling in the APF 1.23% during 6 days, we observed high density level of enamel surface using 250 magnification scanning microscope. The vacuum of surface packed (in) like sardines. 2. After settling in the APF 1.23% during 6 days, we observed reducing the space between the cluster of enamel surface using 50,000 magnification scanning microscope. 3. The vickers hardness change was very much on the all kinds of fluoride compound gel[2% NaF(sodium fluoride)gel, 8% SnF2(stannous fluoride) gel, 1.23% APF(acidulated phosphate fluoride)gel]. It's all because of reducing the space between the cluster of enamel surface(p<0.001). Conclusions : The vickers hardness change was very much on the all kinds of fluoride compound. It's all because of reducing the space between the cluster of enamel surface.

  • This case covers the issues related to the operation problem, cause analysis and improvement cases of the FGD that employed the non-leakage type GGH in coal-fired power plant for the first time in Korea. In the Cooler, there was a main problem that the tube is damaged by the ash cutting due to the high velocity of flue gas in the duct and by the weak wear resistance of material. In the Reheater, there was a main problem that the tube was corroded due to chlorine and sulfur in the circumstance of the low temperature. In order to solve those problems, we have improved the Reheater tube and tube fins by coating enamel to reduce corrosion rate.
