We propose the statistical modeling and empirical results that can be utilized to identify and interpret the structural factors of international arms exports in recent years. The building blocks of research comprise the following questions; which would be the explanatory variables for the changing trend of international arms exports, whether the statistical significance can be verified on those variables and how those are interpreted for the future policy making purpose. We use the dataset of top 40 countries from SIPRI's Arms Transfers Database and analyze several regression models which consist of explanatory variables derived from research hypotheses. The most noticeable result is that the national fiscal reserve is shown to have consistent influence on the arms exports changes. UN security council members' group also has dominant power to make a formation of arms exports market block. Furthermore, gross domestic product and net exports volume in the national economy would seem to be related to changes of international arms exports in post-2000 period as well.

As a predominant active fire suppression method, closed-type sprinkler systems are used for the purpose of fire control and suppression at the nuclear power plants as well as the industrial facilities. It goes without saying that the proper selection of the system guarantees the adequate actuation of the thermal device. Consequently, the appropriate evaluation should be executed for the thermal behavior with the theoretical and empirical approach. For this purpose, the comparison of activation time for the fusible-link type sprinkler head with the simplified fire case and t-square fire growth case was evaluated. At this paper, the comparison output was presented with the tendency of thermal behavior. In addition, we issued some technical comments for the most appropriate equation in case of the estimation of the sprinkler head activation time. We also raised some idea that should be incorporated for the usage of the t-square equation for the realistic application in the field of the performance-base fire protection approach.

Trade portal site is one of the tools which makes it possible for small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) to manage international trade activities more efficiently by using the newest information and telecommunication technology. So Korean SMEs should utilize trade portal sites more actively to promote global competitive power. Based on the theory of service quality and an existing research related to using information technology. this research analyzed the primary factors which affect user's utilization satisfaction in using trade portal sites. According to the results of the empirical study on actual users of the representative trade portal sites by using multiple regression analysis, The primary factors, such as service quality, government policy and cost have affected user's utilization satisfaction in using trade portal site. and user's utilization satisfaction have positive effect on continuous using intention. These research results will provide many useful insights to the managers of trade portal sites, e-trade system developers and government policy makers.

This study analyzes important urban characteristics according to location of large-scaled professional sports facilities based on a binary logistic regression model and t-test. For the empirical analysis, this study uses 24 urban characteristics within social, economic, cultural, traffic, and spatial categories in 228 cities. The results show that economic condition can be the main decision factor for the differential feature of the location as well as social and traffic conditions. Concretely, more the number of young adults and middle-aged people who have considerable purchasing power, and available land are more the beneficial to the presence of the sports facilities. Recently local governments focus on location of the facilities due to their impacts on regional economics as well as residents' quality of life. In this point of vies, this study gives good understanding why it is a great option for location of the facilities.

Specially, immersion of network and supply network, very high interrelation appeared by thing which is with international logistics base supply network integration. The integration of international logistics base supply network means that the enterprises which give trust and sincerity deal with market environment change positively and can decide proceeding of various cooperative work. Also, it means the possibility by necessity of cooperative relation and interdependence to continuous immersion and normative immersion, for the maintain of long business relations.

This paper intends to examine the antecedents to the ex-post supply price cut which is typical retailer's unfair trade practices from three perspectives such as market power, efficiency, and retailer's tendency. For the empirical research, we analyzed manufacturer's 79 key account managers who have traded with domestic discount stores. As a result, the harder a retailer tries to increase sales and margin simultaneously, the more the retailer tends to use the ex-post supply price cut against manufacturers. In addition, the most frequent pattern of ex-post supply price cut occurs after retailer's discount at discretion. Finally, we suggest this research's implications, limitations of this research with future research directions.

In this paper, we proposed a generalized bivariate negative binomial distribution allowing heterogeneous dispersions on two dependent variables based on a trivariate reduction technique. In this model, we propose the score and LR tests for testing the equality of dispersions and compare the efficiencies of the proposed tests using a Monte Carlo study. The Monte Carlo study shows that the proposed score and LR tests prove to be an efficient test for the equality of dispersions in the view of the significance level and power. However, the score test is easier to compute than the LR test and it shows a slightly better performance than the LR test from the Monte Carlo study, we suggest the use of score tests for testing the equality of dispersions on two dependent variables. In addition, an empirical example is provided to illustrate the results.

The recent survey shows that female web-suffers in Korea make up to 45.3% of total netizens and this growth will be continued. While the market in women portal sites is spotlighted recently, a brand power of a women portal site is still weaker to compete with other general portal sites. To be competitive, the women portal site should implement differentiation strategies. The primary objective of this research is to suggest the differentiation strategies for a women portal site based on the 6C (contents, community, commerce, connection, communication, and customizing). To achieve this goal, the questionnaire is posted on the web site and 348 samples are analyzed. As a result, the 15 differentiation strategies that are validated via the web-survey are presented. The results of this study are expected to help companies develop appropriate strategies for women Internet users.

Land cover classification is an important tool for preventing natural disasters, collecting environmental information, and monitoring natural resources. Hyperspectral imaging is widely used for this task thanks to sufficient spectral information. However, the curse of dimensionality, spatiotemporal variability, and lack of labeled data make it difficult to classify the land cover correctly. We propose a novel classification framework for land cover classification of hyperspectral data based on convolutional neural networks. The proposed framework naturally incorporates full spectral features with the information from neighboring pixels and has advantages over existing methods that require additional feature extraction or pre-processing steps. Empirical evaluation results show that the proposed framework provides good generalization power with classification accuracies better than (or comparable to) the most advanced existing classifiers.

This paper examines an explanatory power of primary alliance motivation theories, such as 'Transaction-Cost Economics (TCE)' and 'Resource-Based View (RBV)', on the technological alliance partner selection criteria, governance and performance. Adopting perspectives of integration provided by TCE and RBV, this work examines the impact of both theories on the alliance processes such as alliance partner selection, governance and performance. Empirical findings show that both TCE and RBV are effective in explaining the choice of technological alliance partners. In addition, TCE appears to be more effective in providing explanation of technological alliance governance structure. Also, both TCE and RBV are effective in evaluating the technological alliance performance phase, though RBV appears to be slightly more effective.
