타인평정 공감 척도의 개발 및 타당화 연구 (The Development and Validity of the Empathy Rating Scale by a Third Party)

  • 본 연구는 타인평정 공감 척도를 개발하고 타당화하는 데 목적이 있다. 예비연구를 통해 개발된 15개의 예비 문항은 연구 1의 탐색적 요인분석을 통해, '공감의 시작', '공감의 과정', '공감의 결과'라는 세 개의 하위요인으로 유목화되었다. 연구 2에서는 척도의 타당도를 확인하기 위하여 확인적 요인분석, 상관분석 및 판별분석이 시행되었다. 확인적 요인분석 결과 3요인 모형에 양호한 적합도를 나타내었고, 상관분석을 통해 진정성, 정서 명확성, 친밀감과는 정적 상관이, 불안 및 거부 애착과는 부적 상관이 있음을 확인함으로써 수렴 타당도가 검증되었다. 따라서 개발된 타인평정 공감 척도는 11개의 최종 문항과 세 개의 하위요인으로 구성된 척도로 보는 것이 타당한 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 연구 결과에 근거하여 본 척도가 갖는 의의와 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구의 방향성에 대해 논의하였다.

간호·간병통합서비스 병동 간호사의 공감력과 자기효능감이 노인간호수행에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Nurses' Empathy and Self-efficacy on Nursing Care of Older Adults in an Integrated Nursing Care Services (INCS) Unit)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the influences of nurses' empathy and self-efficacy on nursing care of older adults in an integrated nursing care services (INCS) unit. Methods: The participants were 210 nurses caring for elderly patients in the INCS unit in Korea. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires from February 9 to February 23, 2017. The questionnaires are composed of empathy construct rating scale, self-efficacy scale and nursing care of older adults scale. Results: The mean age of the participants was 29.9 years old. There were significant positive relationships between age and clinical career (r=.78; p<.001), self-efficacy and empathy (r=.33; p<.001) and empathy and nursing care of older adults (r=.25; p<.001). The quality of nursing care of older adults were significantly different according to working experience in psychiatric unit (p=.021). Influencing factor of nursing care of older adults was empathy (${\ss}=.29$; p<.001), which explained 30% of the variance. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicated that attention should be given to empathy of nursing care of older adults and numerous efforts should be made to improve nurses' empathy for quality elderly care.

어머니의 반영기능과 유아의 공감능력, 실행기능, 배려행동 간의 구조적 관계 (The Structural Relationships among Maternal Reflective Function, Preschoolers' Empathy, Executive Functions, and Caring Behaviors)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the relationships among mothers' reflective function, preschoolers' empathy, executive function, caring behaviors. Subjects for this study were 498 preschoolers and their mothers. Mothers' reflective function was assessed by the Parental Reflective Functioning Questionnaire(PRFQ). Preschoolers' empathy was assessed by the Questionnaire of Cognitive and Affective Empathy(QCAE). Preschoolers' executive function was assessed by the Behavioral Rating Inventory of Executive Functions-Preschool Version(BRIEF-P), and caring behaviors were assessed by the caring behaviors scale(Kim, 2015). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), and structural equation model(SEM) with the SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 program. The major results of this study were as follows. First, mothers' reflective function showed direct effects on preschoolers' empathy, executive function, and caring behaviors. Second, the preschoolers' empathy and executive function showed direct effects on preschoolers' caring behaviors. Third, preschoolers' empathy mediated the effects of mothers' reflective function on preschoolers' caring behaviors. The findings of this study will contribute to designing intervention programs to improve preschoolers' empathy, executive function, and caring behaviors.

  • This study examined the effect of maternal cognitive empathy on children's executive function focusing on mediating effects of preschooler's caring behavior and happiness. The subject of this study was 460 five-year-old preschooler-their mother dyads in Korea. Data were collected by Korean Version of Questionnaire of Cognitive and Affective Empathy(K-QCAE), Caring Behaviors Scale for Young Children, Happiness Scale for Young Children and Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function-Preschool Version(BRIEF-P). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation analysis, structural equation model and bootstrapping test with SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 23.0 program. The major results were as follows. 1) Maternal cognitive empathy had a positive influence on preschooler's caring behavior. 2) Preschooler's caring behavior had a positive influence on happiness and executive function. 3) Preschooler's happiness had a positive influence on executive function. 4) The effect of maternal cognitive empathy on preschooler's executive function was mediated by preschooler's caring behavior. 5) The effect of maternal cognitive empathy on preschooler's executive function was sequentially mediated by preschooler's caring behavior and happiness. This study revealed that maternal cognitive empathy, preschooler's caring behavior, and happiness have an important role in preschooler's executive function. Most of all, we suggest that maternal cognitive empathy should be improved to promote preschooler's executive function. The findings of this study will contribute to designing intervention programs to improve preschooler's executive function as well as maternal empathy.

간호사의 치매환자에 대한 공감도 요인구조 탐색 및 모형적합성 검증 (Factor Constructs Exploration and Model Goodness-of-fit Verification of Empathy for Dementia Patient among Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 치매환자를 돌보는 간호사의 공감도 구성요인이 무엇인지 분석하여, 이를 통해 치매환자 간호실무에 도움이 되고자 한다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 요양병원에서 치매환자 간호에 종사하는 219명의 간호사를 대상으로 하였다. 공감도(ECRS)를 이용하여 요인구조 탐색과 확인요인분석(CFA)을 통한 기초모형 추출 및 모형 수정, 모형 적합성 검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과 간호사의 치매환자에 대한 공감도는 타인 정서의 수용, 자신의 부정정서 억제, 정서의 교류 및 상호작용 등 3개요인 49개 문항으로 구성요인의 타당성과 신뢰성을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과에 따라 타당성과 신뢰성을 확보한 공감도 측정 도구는 향후 치매환자 간호실무현장에서 간호사의 공감도를 확인하는 연구에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

일 상급종합병원 암환자 고객경험관리 (Customer Experience Management for Cancer Patients in a Tertiary Hospital)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of customer experience management on nursing service satisfaction of cancer patients and their intent to revisit the hospital and also to identify empathy ability of oncology nurses. Methods: Participants were 376 cancer patients and 190 oncology nurses from a tertiary hospital in Korea. Cancer patients' satisfaction with nursing care and intent to continue using the hospital were measured and empathy of oncology nurses was measured using Empathy Construct Rating Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$ test, t-test, one-way ANOVA and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: Patient satisfaction with nursing care and intent to continue using the hospital were higher in patients who received the customer experience management program than those who did not. Oncology nurses' ability to empathize was high. Clinical career, participate in customer experience management and education level together explained 20% of variance in empathy ability of oncology nurses. Conclusion: Findings from this study confirm that customer experience management affects patient satisfaction with nursing service and intent to continue using the hospital. Further research is necessary to reaffirm the empathy ability of the oncology nurses and to identify the related various factors.

유아 정서지능 발달에 관한 연구 (Developmental trends of children's emotional intelligence)

  • This investigation of developmental trends in children's emotional intelligence used the Emotional Intelligence Rating Scale for Preschool Children(Kim, 1998) to study 973 children. Significant age differences were found in 5 factors: 'utilization of emotion', 'regulation of emotion', 'handling of relationship between child and teacher' and 'handling of relationship with peers'. Children's emotional intelligence scores increased with age in 3 factors: 'utilization of emotion', 'empathy', and 'regulation of emotion'. Sex differences were found in 5 factors: 'utilization of emotion', 'empathy', 'appraisal and expression of self emotion', 'regulation of emotion', and 'handling of relationship between child and teacher'. In all factors, the scores of girls were higher than those the scores of boys.

아동간호사의 공감정도에 관한 연구 -간호사와 입원아동 어머니를 대상으로- (A Study on the Empathy of Pediatric nurses)

  • Empathy is an essential factor for establishing therapeutic relationship. Especially for pediatric nursing, the nurses need to know how to perceive children's feeling and thought and to express her understanding about them affectively. So, empathy is considered as an important concept in pediatric nursing. This study was attempted to measure the empathic ability of pediatric nurses by pediatric nurses and mothers of hospitalized children. The subject of this study consisted of 83 pediatric nurses and 106 mothers of hospitalized children in 4 hospitals in Seoul and 1 hospital in Kyung-Gi. Data were collected from Jan. 14 to Feb. 6, 1997, by the questionnair method. The instrument for this study was the Empathic Construct Rating Scale : ECRS(60-item, 5 point scale). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. Results of this study are summarized as follows 1. Pediatric nurses perceived their empathic ability to be moderately high (Mn=3.71). The level of perceived empathic ability of the pediatric nurses showed no significance by general characteristics. 2. The mothers of hospitalized children perceived nurses' empathic ability to be moderate(Mn=3.27). The level of perceived nurses' empathic ability of the mothers of hospitalized children showed significant differences by the experience of hospitalization of the children and the age of the mothers. 3. The perceived nurses' empathic ability of the mothers was significantly low than of the pediatric nurses(t=6.50, P<.001). From the above results, it can be concluded, that the empathic ability of the pediatric nurses is not sufficient for caring children and mothers of ficiently. So, the pediatric nurses' empathic ability is needed to improve through facilitative relationship training as refreshment in-service education program.

ADHD 경향 아동의 사회기술훈련 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of Social Skills Training Program for Children with Tendency of Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to examine the effects of social skills training program onto the children with tendency of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Methods: This study used nonequivalent control group pre/post-test quasi-experimental research design. The subjects were 18 children with tendency of attention- deficit hyperactivity in D City. The subjects were divided into two groups, an experimental group of 8 children and a control group of 10. The program consisted of 20 sessions of 60 minutes per session, 5 days a weeks, for 4 weeks. The research tools included Conner's Teacher Rating Scales (CTRS) and Social Skills Rating System (SSRS). The collected data were analyzed using $x^2$ test, Mann-Whitney test on the SPSS 17.0 program. Results: a) the scores for cooperation, self-assertiveness, self-control and empathy increased significantly in the experimental group, compared to the control group. b) the scores for social skills increased significantly in the experimental group, compared to the control group. Conclusion: It appears that the social skills training program is a useful nursing intervention to improve the social skills for children with tendency of attention-deficit hyperactivity.

유아의 사회적 능력과 정서지능과의 관계에 대한 연구 (The Relationship between Children's Social Competence and Emotional Intelligence)

  • This study examined the factor structure of social competence and the relationship between social competence and emotional intelligence in preschool children. The subjects were 503 3- to 6-year-old children. Instruments were the Emotional Intelligence Rating Scale for Preschool Children and The Social Competence Scale. The validity and reliability of the factor structures of The Social Competence Scale were confirmed. These factors were initiative, ability, and sociability. The relationship between The Social Competence Scale and the emotional intelligence scale was highly significant (r=.29, p<.001). Three sub-factors of The Social Competence Scale were significantly related to the total emotional intelligence score. Among the six sub-factors of emotional intelligence, 5 were related to the total score of social competence. These were utilization of emotion, empathy, appraisal and expression of self emotion, relationship with teacher, and relationship with peers.
