  • Random and/or periodic defects occur in all spun yarns. These irregularities can often lead to defects in finished fabric. Yarn evenness tests are used to obtain statistical data about yarn properties, such as CV%, which is useful in comparing several sets of similar data that differ in mean value but may have some commonality in relative variation. Although this statistical data is helpful in determining relative yam quality, accurate predictions of how the yarn will appear in fabric form are still difficult to obtain. As an promising alterative, wavelet analysis has been employed to localize yarn defect so as to predict the visual qualities of the fabrics.

  • Nowadays, many robots have evolved to imitate human social skills such that sociable interaction with humans is possible. Socially interactive robots require abilities different from that of conventional robots. For instance, human-robot interactions are accompanied by emotion similar to human-human interactions. Robot emotional expression is thus very important for humans. This is particularly true for facial expressions, which play an important role in communication amongst other non-verbal forms. In this paper, we introduce a method of creating lifelike facial expressions in robots using variation of affect values which consist of the robot's emotions based on emotional boundaries. The proposed method was examined by experiments of two facial robot simulators.

  • Voigt Model assumed for creep was used to obtain the viscoelastic properties of fabrics in thickness direction and the governing equation was derived. The weights were specially designed and calibrated for constant stress applied to fabrics and the 1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ resolution laser displacement sensor was attached in order to measure the variation of strain. Ten fabric samples were used. The few steps of strain showed according to the internal structure of fabrics. Also correlations the Hand Values from KESF with the spring and damping coefficients were considered.

  • There is substantial evidence that anatomical connections and functional interactions exist between vestibular and autonomic systems. Heart rate variability (HRV) including mean, standard deviation, coefficient of variation (CV), power spectrum was analyzed for evaluation of the physiological role of the vestibular system on control of heart rate in rabbits. In anesthetized rabbits, electrical stimulation of the vagus nerve decreased heart rate and decreased LF/HF by increasing HF. On the cervical sympathetic nerve increased heart rate and increased LF/HF by increasing LF. Atropine, cholinergic blocker, increased heart rate and increased LF/HF by reducing HF, and propranolol, ${\beta}$-adrenergic blocker, decreased heart rate and decreased LF/HF by reducing LF> In unanesthetized rabbits, stimulation of the vestibular system induced by rotation or caloric increased heart rate and increased LF/HF by increasing LF> Also electrical stimulation of the vestibular nerve produced the same of effects as rotation or caloric in anesthetized rabbits. These results suggest that Stimulation of the vestibular system increased heart rate not by inhibiting the parasympathetic nerve but by activating the sympathetic nerve.

  • The type of physiological stress involved in driving is probably complex, and a comprehensive study involving recording of physiological signals such as electrocardiogram(ECG), electromyogram(EMG). Changes in relevant Physiological parameters, such as ECG, EMG, reflected changes in driver status. In order to derive the mental and physical load of driving a motor vehicle from driving behaviour alone it is necessary to establish the relationship between changes in a driver's physiological parameters and behavioral parameters. In this study, we choose two different condition and investigated driver's status using HRV analysis method. Many previous studies have shown that increasing driving time causes a variation of HRV signal.

  • This study deals with Rhythm which is one of aesthetic variables. Aesthetics among the factors of consumer preference has been importantly considered in competitive market environment. Therefore , consumers' purchasing standard has been also changed as their consciousness has been changed according to the variation of their lire style. Besides, the technique and method of design faces up to the change because of consumers' diverse wishes. Hence, to satisfy consumers' needs and the market front now on characterized as the short durability cycle of products, a distinctive design should be developed in the form of products that can be an important factor to attract consumers preference. So, in this study, 1 will try to understand typology based on a categorization theory and the conceptual structure of aesthetics, which are importantly considered at the same time. In addition, I will establish a new design process by extracting Rhythm affecting aesthetic. Ultimately, this study aims develop more consumer preferring design beyond the limit of a designer's idea and design generation by the result of this study.

  • In this study, we estimated the behavior of the diversity of physiological responses under varied physical environmental factors by measuring variations of heart rate variability (HRV), an index of activity of cardiac autonomic control. Seven healthy young male adults consented and participated in the study. The environmental conditions consisted of thermal, lighting, and acoustic conditions. Two components of HRV were measured. one was the low frequency (LF) component of HRV, which provided a quantitative index of the sympathetic and parasympathetic (vagal) activities controlling the heart rate (HR). The other component measured was the high frequency (HF) component, which provided an index of the vagal tone. The percent contribution of physical environmental factors to the variations in HRV indices were calculated by ANOVA. The contribution of physical environmental factors to the variations in HR was higher than the contribution of HF and LF. However, the contribution of these factors was lower than the contribution related with individual difference in all indices. This result showed that the individual diversity of physiological responses is not a negligible quantity.
