차량 배출가스 규제기준이 소요환기량에 미치는 연구 (A study on the effects of exhaust emission standards on the required ventilation rate in vehicle tunnels)

  • 터널환기 계획시 소요환기량은 환기시설 용량을 결정하기 위한 중요한 인자이며, 소요환기량 산정을 위한 차종별 오염 물질 배출량(환기설계를 위한 기준배출량)은 현재 환경부에서 제시하는 '제작차 허용배출 기준'을 근거하여 산정하고 있다. 그러나, 2013년부터 환경부에서는 자동차에서 배출되는 오염물질을 산정하기 위한 규정으로 '자동차 총 오염물질 배출량 산정방법에 관한 규정'을 고시하고 이 규정에 '자동차 차종별 배출계수'를 제시하고 있다. 따라서 도로터널의 소요환기량 산정시 이를 적용하는 것에 대한 검토가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 2015년 경유차량의 배출가스 조작사건 이후 자동차 배출가스 규제강화에 따라 터널의 소요환기량 산정에 미치는 영향을 검토하였으며, 최근 환경부에서 개정한 '제작차 허용배출량 기준'과 '자동차 차종별 배출계수'에 의한 소요환기량과 EURO 배출기준을 적용한 소요환기량을 비교 분석하였다. 또한 소요환기량 산정 근거에 따른 합리적인 환기시스템 용량결정을 위한 기초 설계자료를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

도시고형폐기물 소각시설에서 발생하는 N2O 발생량 조사 및 저감효과에 관한 연구 (Investigation of N2O Emission and Reduction Effect from MSW Incineration Plant)

  • 본 연구에서는 도시고형폐기물 소각시설을 대상으로 3회에 걸쳐 도시고형폐기물을 수거하여 폐기물의 성상 및 물리화학적 조성을 조사하였다. 또한 소각시설에서 배출되는 $N_2O$를 연속적으로 측정하여 발생량을 조사하였으며, IPCC에서 제시한 폐기물의 온실가스 배출량 산정방법으로 산출된 발생량과 비교하였다. 도시고형폐기물 소각시설에서 발생하는 $N_2O$ 발생량은 IPCC 산출방법에 의한 발생량보다 2배 이상 크게 조사되었다. 도시고형폐기물 소각시설에서 $N_2O$ 저감설비가 도입될 경우 온실가스 저감목표를 만족하기 용이하고, 탄소배출권 거래제도를 활용하여 경제적인 효과도 발생할 수 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

상세 공간단위 농업분야 온실가스 배출량 산정 방안 연구 (Estimating GHG Emissions from Agriculture at Detailed Spatial-scale in Geographical Unit)

  • Carbon neutrality in agriculture can be derived from systematic GHG reduction policies based on quantitative environmental impact analysis of GHG-emitting activities. This study is to explore how to advance the calculation of carbon emissions from agricultural activities to the detailed spatial level to a spatial Tier 3 level (Tier 2.5 level), methodologically beyond the Tier 2 approach. To estimate the GHG emissions beyond the Tier 2.5 level by region for detailed spatial units, we constructed available activity data on carbon emission impact factors such as rice cultivation, agricultural land use, and livestock. We also built and verified detailed data on emission activities at the field level through field surveys. The GHG emissions were estimated by applying the latest national emission factors and regional emission factors according to the IPCC 2019 GL based on the field-level activity data. This study has significance that it explored ways to build activity data and calculate GHG emissions through statistical data and field surveys based on parcels, one of the smallest spatial units for regional carbon reduction strategies. It is expected that by utilizing the activity data surveyed for each field and the emission factor considering the activity characteristics, it will be possible to improve the accuracy of GHG emission calculation and quantitatively evaluate the effect of applying reduction policies.

국가 에너지통계에 따른 건물부문 온실가스 배출량 추계 및 특성 (Estimation and Feature of Greenhouse Gas Emission in Building Sector by National Energy Statistic)

  • In December 2015, The Paris Agreement was adopted to undertake ambitious efforts to combat climate change. Korean government announced its goal of reducing the country's greenhouse gas emissions by up to 37% below business as usual projections by 2030 in 2015. The purpose of this study was to set up the calculation methodology of GHG emission($CO_{2e}$) in building sector and to estimate the annual GHG emission in building sector based on national energy consumption statistic. The GHG emission from buildings is about 135.8 million ton $CO_{2e}$ as of 2015, taking up about 19.6% of Korea's entire emission and is about 144.7 million ton $CO_{2e}$ in 2017. The GHG emission of building sector is increasing at annual rate of 2.0% from 2001 to 2017. The GHG emission from electricity consumption in buildings is 91.8 million ton $CO_{2e}$ in 2017, is the highest $CO_2$ emission by energy source. The results show that the intensity of GHG emission of residential building sector is $40.6kg-CO_{2e}/m^2{\cdot}yr$ and that of commercial building sector is $68.4kg-CO_{2e}/m^2{\cdot}yr$.

굴착기의 부하율에 따른 실작업 질소산화물 배출 특성 연구 (Study on Real-Work NOx Emission Characteristics according to Load Factor of Excavator)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the impact of engine load on the emission characteristics of excavator engines, with the aim of improving the method for calculating the emission inventory of construction machinery. The engine load in excavators is directly correlated with the operational workload, and variations in the load factor (LF) can significantly influence the emission inventory. Thus, on-board diagnostic (OBD) data from an excavator at a construction site were systematically collected to measure engine output and emissions. The results revealed discernible differences in emissions based on engine load, even when the average excavator engine performance remained constant. This highlights the significant influence of the type and characteristics of the work being carried out on emission characteristics. Making realistic adjustments to the LF used in emission calculation formulas emerges as a crucial strategy for environmental improvement. Moreover, the analysis of the effects of engine load on emissions from excavators provides valuable insights for enhancing environmental protection measures.

부산광역시에서 철도차량 배출원에 의한 오염물질 배출량 산정 (Estimation of emission rate for railroad rolling stock sources in Busan Metropolitan City)

  • A case of air pollution study of estimation of emission rate for source to railroad rolling stock and emissive character about is unusual. Recent emission rate of railroad rolling stock was estimated with emission factor of EPA in three region(Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggido). But this EPA factor could be incorrect because Korea and America have a different railroad environment in the variety of fuel and character of railroad rolling stock In this study, emission rate of each line, car and region(district) with omission factor of Korean case(National Railroad Administration, 1997) was estimated. In Busan Metropolitan City, railroad rolling stocks were divided accoding to, each line, car and service. Particularly, the Idle fuel rate omitted in the preceding study was included in calculation fuel rate. Total emission rate of Busan Metropolitan City was 887.41 t/year Each emission rates of Kyeongbu line, Donghaenambu line, Gaya line, Uam line, Bujeon line, and idle was 489.15t, 196.46t, 33.94t, 12.66t, 6.47t, and 48.75t, respectively.

4행정 대형 디젤엔진의 배기 배출특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Emission Characteristics in 4 Stroke Large Propulsion Diesel Engine)

  • Environmental protection on the ocean has been interested and nowadays the International maritime organization(IMO) has advanced on the prevention of air pollution from ships. This study presents the emission characteristics of 4 stroke propulsion diesel engine in E2 cycle (constant speed) and E3 cycle (propeller curved speed). Also the effects of important operating parameters in terms of intake air pressure and temperature, and maximum combustion pressure are described on the specific emissions. Emissions measurement and calculation are processed according to IMO technical code. The results show that NOx emission level in E3 cycle is higher than E2 cycle due to lower engine speed and lower maximum combustion pressure by retarding fuel injection timing. Intake air temperature has strong influence on NOx emission production. And CO, HC emissions are not affected by maximum combustion pressure and intake air pressure and temperature.

  • It was numerically studied that NOx emission characteristics of confined $CH_{4}$ jet flames with the variation of the diameter of inner fuel nozzle, the flow rate of $CH_{4}$ and equivalence ratio. Parabolic type equations were adopted in the calculation and GRI-2.1I mechanism was used for the chemical reaction. NOx emission index (EINOx) was introduced to evaluate NOx emission quantitatively in parametrically varied flames and the contribution of Thermal and Prompt NO mechanism was discussed. The results showed that Total EINOx varied sensitively with the variation of the flow rate of$CH_{4}$ but it was not sensitive to the variation of the diameter of inner fuel nozzle. Thermal EINOx showed the similar tendency to total EINOx and Prompt EINOx showed insensitivity to the variation of the diameter of inner fuel nozzle and the flow rate of $CH_{4}$.

  • The emission line objects such as planetary nebulae, symbiotics, gaseous nebulae, HII regions, novae, supernovae, SNRs, nearby spiral galaxies, dIrr, dE, and nearby active galactic nuclei, would be goldmines for us to dig with the 1.8m bohyunsan optical (BOAO) telescope. We discussed the importance of strategically important diagnostic lines and atomic constant calculation for a study of Galactic and extragalactic emission objects. The scientific background on a spectrometer development history is briefly presented and spectroscopic research areas other than the emission objects are also summarized.

A Study on the Estimation of Greenhouse Gas Using Oyster Shell Recycling for Paper Filler

  • This study has conducted greenhouse gas emission reduction test as using Oyster-shells originated PCC paper filler compare to non-Oyster shells used PCC. This examination was estimated and calculated in accordance with both IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) and World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBSCD). The greenhouse gas emission reduction estimation result indicates that, when oyster shells are recycled and used as paper filler, it reduces $27.97tCO_2\;per\;100\;ton$ of oyster shells. It is greenhouse gas emission $44.27tCO_2$ from PCC production changed to carbon emission reduction when replaced with oyster shell. LNG greenhouse gas emission $16.3tCO_2$ in relation to the pre-treatment with oyster shell per 100 ton is also reflected. As a result, it is assumed that roughly $0.2797tCO_2/oyster\;shell{\cdot}ton$.
