Median raphe cyst is known as congenital lesion of the perineum and genitalia, but its etiology is unclear. Most investigators believe that the median raphe cyst represent defects in the embryologic developement of the male genitalia. Simple surgical excision is effective in most cases. We report our experience with two cases of median raphe cyst without specific symptoms. Even though median raphe cyst is asymptomatic, surgical therapy is worth applicable because it relieve a patient from cosmetic and psychotic problem.

Morgagni hernia is a rare condition of the congenital diaphragmatic hernia which Is located at the anteromedial portion of the diaphragm, and is located immediately posterior to the sternum. Its cause is considered by embryologic defect and the abdominal organs are passed through a defect. The incidence is predirected women over 50 years old. Its synonym is hernia of subcostosternal, retrosternal, parasternal, rectocostoxiphoid, anterior diaphragmatic or Larrey`s. This report presents a symptomatic Morgagni hernia of ten months old male child on whom the diagnosis was established and was operated at the Busan Gospel Hospital. This patient was admitted with the chief complaints of mild cyanosis, frequent upper respiratory infections and protrusion of the right lower anterior chest. Herniorrhaphy was performed through the upper abdominal midline incision, hernial contents of the omentum and the colon, and sac as noticed from the Larrey`s space measuring 4 x 2 cm. in diameter and oval in shape. Interrupted sutures without difficulty repaired the defect. The cyanosis was disappeared and the patient had uneventful course of post-operative period. The patient was discharged at 7th. postoperative day. This case presentation with a brief review of literatures is given.

Cleft lip is a common congenital facial deformity which might cause speech, hearing, appearance, and psychological disorder. For the purpose of appropriate management for the cleft lip patients according to their individual situations, reviews of the historical evolution for the cleft lip treatment were summarized. More than 15 English written articles with 4 related historical books were reviewed, and the chronology of the cleft lip management from ancient to recent twenty first century, via middle ages and Renaissance, were summarized. Multifactorial causes of cleft lip, before the modern understanding of embryological background of it, most management of cleft lip has been explained under the basis of religions and/or superstitions. As the anatomic and embryologic knowledges were known and revealed, various misconceptions were corrected continously, and the simple closure of the lip defect was also evoluted to the applications of plastic concept. Recently, cosmetic outcomes with functional results, such as speech, hearing, psychological status, have been considered importantly, under the multidiciplinary care system. For the better understanding of cleft lip management as a routine esthtetic and funtional reconstructive procedure, the various historical treatment trends were reviewed and summarized as time goes on. This review presentation will discuss the appropriate management for cleft lip patients.
