Design of Embedded Integrated remote controller architecture based on user profile for Smart home (스마트 홈을 위한 사용자 프로파일 기반의 임베디드 통합 리모트 컨트롤러 설계)

  • 스마트 홈을 구현하기 위한 핸드폰을 이용한 리모트 컨트롤러나 PDA를 통한 통합 리모트 컨트롤러 등의 통합 리모트 컨트롤러에 관한 연구는 활발히 진행되어 오고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 리모트 컨트롤러에 관한 연구에 대해 두 가지의 새로운 방향을 생각해 보았다. 첫째로 리모트 컨트롤러를 작동시키기 위해서는 핸드폰이나 PDA등의 input 디바이스가 반드시 필요했던 단점을 보완해서 임베디드 보드에 input device 기능을 포함하는 것이다. 그리고 두 번째는 임베디드 리모트 컨트롤러에 user profile을 두어서 단순한 채널 변경의 기능만을 하는 리모트 컨트롤러가 아니라 사용자의 선호도 등의 정보를 가지고 지능적으로 집안 환경을 최적화된 조건으로 만들 수 있도록 설계 했다. 즉 사용자가 가장 좋아하는 TV채널이나 실내온도 등의 정보를 가지고 각 사용자에게 최적화된 환경을 리모트 컨트롤러가 스스로 작동시킬 수 있게 되는 것이다. 그리고 가전을 작동시키기 위해서 임베디드 보드에 있는 IrDA 통신모듈을 통해 일정한 코드 값만 보내주면 되기 때문에 일반적으로 리모트 컨트롤러로 제어가 가능한 거의 모든 전자제품이 쉽게 제어 가능하다.

Design of a Variable Stability Flight Control System

  • A design objective for variable stability flight control system is to develop a controller of in-flight simulation capability that forces the aircraft being flown to follow the dynamics of other aircraft. This paper presents a model-following variable stability control system (VSS) for in-flight simulation which consists of feedforward and feedback control laws, the aircraft dynamic model to be simulated, and switching and fader logics to reduce the transient effect between two aircraft dynamics. The separate design techniques for feedforward and feedback control law proposals are based on model matching and augmented linear quadratic (LQ) techniques. The system allows pilots to select and engage VSS mode, and when deselected, the aircraft reverts to the baseline flight control system. Both the baseline flight control laws and VSS control laws are computed continuously during flight. Initialization of the state values are necessary to prevent instability, since VSS control laws have integrators and filters in longitudinal, and lateral/directional axes. This paper demonstrates and validates the effectiveness and quality of VSS with F-16 models embedded in T-50 in-flight simulation aircraft.

  • Recently Manipulation capability is important for a robot. Interaction between a robot hand and objects can be properly controlled only is suitable sensors are available. Recently the tendency is to create robot hands more compact and high integrated sensors system, in order to increase the grasping capability and in order to reduce cabling through the finger, the palm and the arm. As a matter of fact, miniaturization and cabling harness represents a significant limitation to the design of small sized embedded sensor. Ongoing work is focusing on a flexible manipulation system, which consists of a dual flexible multi-fingered hand-arm system, and a dual active vision system.

  • In this paper, we describe a CMOS DC-DC converter with a variable output voltage(8-12V @100mA) for a portable battery-operated system applications. The proposed DC-DC converter is used along with a Pulse-Frequency Modulation (PFM) method and consists of a reference circuit, a feedback resistor, a controller, and an internal oscillator. The integrated DC-DC converter with two external passive components(L.C) has been designed and fabricated on a 0.6${\mu}m$ 2-poly, 3-metal CMOS process and could be applied to the Personal Digital Assistants(PDA), Cellular Phone, Laptop Computer, etc.

  • This paper presents a robust centralized control scheme for a magnetic bearing system which supports a rigid rotor at both shaft ends in the radial direction. The negative stiffness element and the inductive force associated with bearing magnetic field are considered in the dynamic model of the system. For this model, the controllability and observability are examined, and then a robust control theory is applied to design two types of multi-input multi-output servocontrollers. A general servocompensator is embedded in the first one and a centralized PID controller is suggested as a second one. By simulation study, the performance of two types of servocontrollers are compared in the aspects of disturbance rejection, reference tracking and the robustness limit.

  • Unmanned autonomous forklifts have a great potential to enhance the productivity of material handling in various applications because these forklifts can pick up and deliver loads without an operator and any fixed guide. Especially, automation of pallet loading and unloading technique is useful for enhancing performance of logistics and reducing cost for automation system. There are, however, many technical difficulties in developing such forklifts including localization, map building, sensor fusion, control, and so on. This is because the system requires numerous sensors, actuators, and controllers that need to be connected with each other, and the number of connections grows very rapidly as the number of devices grows. This paper presents a vision sensorbased autonomous loading and unloading for network-based unmanned forklift where system components are connected to a shared CAN network. Functions such as image processing and control algorithm are divided into small tasks that are distributed over a number of microcontrollers with a limited computing capacity. And the experimental results show that proposed architecture can be an appropriate choice for autonomous loading in the unmanned forklift.

  • In this paper, We are going to propose the fire protection system with using CAN(Controller Area Network). The larger, higher and deeper buildings are, the more dangerous people are when fire happens. We should be aware of the problems of prior fire protection system. Therefore, we construct embedded system based on CAN communication that is capable of N:N communication, and build independent fire protection system. If the fire is occurred on the building, the problem is that how fast we can detect the fire and put off it by using available system, this is major factor that reduces damage of our wealth, therefore in this studies We would like to design more stable system than current system. this system that is based on CAN communication which is available N:N communication constructs and is designed to compensate for each fault so that our aim is to reduce the line of system and cost of installation and to suppose future type fire protection system. We are simulated by NIST FDS(Fire Dynamics Simulator) to prove the efficiency of this system.

  • Conventional geological survey utilizes the manual compass for mass amount of measurements of the geologic structure. Portable multifunction digital compass system was required by more detailed geological survey, due to increasing construction for rock slopes and runnels. In this paper, the system was implemented by using Intel PXA 255 embedded board as a system controller, and was composed of tilting sensor, digital azimuth sensor, and Global Positioning System (GPS) module. After the measured location, strike, and the angle of dip with our implemented system were transmitted to Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) or notebook, these data could be used for geologic structure analysis. It is expected that the availability of cheap and improved digital compass will reduce the coast and time of geological survey extensively.

  • In this paper, we develope a speed control system of a BLDC motor for handpieces used in beauty applications. To reduce implementation cost, the control system utilizes hall sensors embedded in BLDC motors for speed estimation. The developed power module of a motor uses only 220V home voltage, so that the control system does not need any other power sources. An over-speed limit controller is also developed to slow down a motor when the speed goes up rapidly for a moment upon some heavy load is removed. The control system is designed to operate a handpiece with speed in the range of 5,000~30,000 RPM. Experiment results show the validity of the developed system, which maintains the speed of a motor steady even though a load is varied.

  • Response to nerve stimulation platform for implementing measures to detect finger movement has been functioning as an important factor. This stimulated finger on the nerve and muscle responses would vary. In other words, the finger movement of the muscle response to nerve stimulation and sensing Actuator for the H/W development is needed. In addition, a low power embedded CPU based on the top was used. H/W configuration portion of the isolation power, constant current control, High impedance INA, amplifier parts, and the stimulus mode and the Micro-control the status of current, AD converter Low Data obtained through the processing system is implemented.
