$Si_3N_4/Sic$. nano-composites were fabricated by hot-pressing, gas pressure sintering. The composites contained up to 50 wt. % of SiC. The mechanical properties such as strength, toughness, and hardness of the composite are compared each other. The flexural strength of the composites was improved significantly by introducing fine SiC particles into $Si_3N_4$ matrix, while the fracture toughness was not improved. The increase in flexural strength is attributed to the formation of uniformly elongated $\beta -Si_3N_4$ grains as well as the reduction of grain size.

Storage methods to suppress growth of transplants and maintain their quality are required for successful commercial transplant production, since peak demand for transplants of flower or vegetable species falls during limited periods in spring and fall, due to the seasonal nature of the horticulture industry. Plug seedlings, probably due to their high planting density and limited rhizosphere, easily elongated or overgrown during the holding period before the market or greenhouse space is available. The near wake behind a sinusoidal cylinder has been investigated quantitatively using hot-wire anemometer and qualitative. The mean velocity and turbulence intensity were measured in streamwise and spanwise direction. The results show that the wake in the saddle plane has a longer vortex formation region and rapid reversed flow than that in nodal plane. The elongated vortex formation region of sinusoidal cylinder is related with drag reduction. In addition, the flow visualized with particle tracing method support the flow characteristics of sinusoidal cylinder measured by hot-wire.

To establish a lawn Zoysia japonica Steud with seeds a win of experiments were conducted for the investigation of seedling root system. The results m summarized m follows; Zoysia japonica and maize elongated mesocotyle in germinating stage. but rye and barley did not. The mesocotyle of Z. japonica seed pushed the elongating coleoptile up throngh the soil, hence could emerge from more deeply planted. The crown roots of Z japonica originated from the coleoptile node. The crown roots of barley originated from the first foliage led node.

In this paper some physical evidences indicate that reduced friction occurs in an cryogenic machining process, in which LN2 is applied to the selected cutting zone. LN2 also reduced the tool wear rate to a great extent and elongated the tool life up to four times compared to emulsion cooling.

The morphological changes of fresh beef treated with ficin(0.1% : 2 hrs, 6 hrs)were examined with transmission electron microscope(TEM), the results obtained were as follows ; Connective tissue protein in fresh beef treated with ficin became gradually fragmentation and was occurred solubilization with time The length of sarcomere in myofibrillar protein was elongated, M-line became dim, and the 1-band of Z-line was broken and beck me fragmentation with time.

The Turbinellidae shell Columbarium pagoda pagoda (Lesson, 1834), from the southern coast of Korea was recorded as new to the Korean molluscan fauna. The shell is typically solid and fusiform, with a well elongated spire and long anterior canal, and keel with a row developed spine. The protoconch is small, planorboid to depressed dome-shaped. The family Turbinellidae is reported from Korea for the first time.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of Activated charcoal (AC) for stimulating growth and productivity of Curcuma longa Linne as affected by different concentrations of AC. Growth characteristics such as plant height and leaf length were the highest with the optimum amount of activated charcoal ranged from 10 to 30%. Root growth was elongated by the addition of 30% AC with the highest rhizome length and weight.
