Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ)-based micro tubular SOFC single cells were fabricated by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) process. Stable slurries for the EPD process were prepared by adding phosphate ester (PE) as a dispersant in order to control the pH, conductivity, and zeta-potential. NiO-YSZ anode support, NiO-YSZ anode functional layer (AFL), and YSZ electrolyte were consecutively deposited on a graphite rod using the EPD process; materials were then co-sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 4 h. The thickness of the deposited layer increased with increasing of the applied voltage and the deposition time. A YSZ-based micro tubular single cell fabricated by the EPD process exhibited a maximum power density of $0.3W/cm^2$ at $750^{\circ}C$.

This paper reports a newly developed sol-gel process to synthesize dense YBCO thick films with $BaTiO_3$ additives using electrophoretic deposition and metal alkoxide sol/particle suspension, which we successfully produce dense $YBCO+BaTiO_3$ ceramics at a rather low temperature, compared with the sintering temperature used in conventional methods. The thick films of HTS were prepared by electrophoretic deposition, using pre-sintered powder with barium titanate addition in the form of $BaTi(OR)_6$ solution in suspension for electrophoresis. The conditions for applied voltage and deposition times for electrophoretic deposition of HTS thick films were studied in detail.
the photolithographic patterning on an indium-tin oxide (ITO) glass and the electro-phoretic deposition were combined for preparing the screen of the full-color field emission display(FED). the patterns with a pixel of 400$\mu\textrm{m}$ on the ITO-glass were made by etching the ITO with well-prepared etchant consisting of HCL, H2O, and HNO3. Electrophoretic method was carried out in order to deposit each spherical red (R), green(G), and blue (B) phosphor on the patterned ITO-glass. The process parameters such as bias voltage, salt concentration, and deposition time were optimized to achieve clear boundaries. It was found that the etching process of ITO combined with electrophoretic method was cost-effective, provided distinct pattern, and even reduced process steps compared with conventional processes. The application of reverse bias to the dormant electrodes while depositing the phosphors on the stripe pattern was found to be very critical for preventing the cross-contamination of each phosphor in a pixel.
A layer-by-layer coating was produced using electrophoretic deposition for a HA/Al2O3 coating layer and a bioglass coating layer on Co-Cr-Mo alloy with a roughness of 0.5 ㎛ (400 emery paper SiC). The corrosion behaviour was analyzed by assessing the coating layers' exceptional corrosion resistance, which outperformed the substrate. Cr ion release test using AAS was carried out, indicating that factional graded coating inhibited ion release from the uncoated substrate to coated sample. The porosity was expressed as a percentage, representing the extent of imperfections on the surface of all coatings. These imperfections fell within an acceptable range of 1% to 3%. The roughness of the coated surface was measured using atomic force microscopy, which revealed an excellent roughness value of 3.32 nm. Tape test technique for adhesion revealed that the removal area of the substrate coating layer varied by 11.92%. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed the presence of all coating material peaks and verified phases of the deposited coating layers. These findings provided evidence that the coating composition remains unaffected by the electrophoretic deposition process. The bioactivity was assessed by immersion in a simulated bodily fluid, which revealed the formation of HCA during a period of 5 days.
The electrophoretic deposition(EPD) technique with a wide range of novel applications in the processing of advanced ceramic materials and coatings, has recently gained increasing interest both in academic and industrial sector not only because of the high versatility of its use with different materials and their combinations but also because of its cost-effectiveness requiring simple apparatus. Compared to other advanced shaping techniques, the EPD process is very versatile since it can be modified easily for a specific application. For example, deposition can be made on flat, cylinderical or any other shaped substrate with only minor charge in electrode design and positioning[1]. The synthesis of the nano-sized Ce0.2Sm0.8O1.9(SDC)particles prepared by aurea based low temperature hydrothermal process was investigated in this study[2].When we made the SDC nanoparticles, changed the time of synthesis of the SDC. The SDC nanoparticles were characterized with field-emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDX), and X-ray diffraction(XRD). And also we researched the results of our investigation on electrophoretic deposition(EPD) of the SDC particles from its suspension in acetone solution onto a non-conducting NiO-SDC substrate. In principle, it is possible to carry out electrophoretic deposition on non-conducting substrates. In this case, the EPD of SDC particles on a NiO-SDC substrate was made possible through the use of a adequately porous substrate. The continuous pores in the substrates, when saturated with the solvent, helped in establishing a "conductive path" between the electrode and the particles in suspension[3-4]. Deposition rate was found to increase its increasing deposition time and voltage. After annealing the samples $1400^{\circ}C$, we observed that deposited substrate.

Transition metal oxide materials have attracted widespread attention as Li-ion battery electrode materials owing to their high theoretical capacity and good Li storage capability, in addition to various nanostructured materials. Here, we fabricated a CoO Li-ion battery in which Co nanoparticles (NPs) are deposited into a current collector through electrophoretic deposition (EPD) without binding and conductive agents, enabling us to focus on the intrinsic electrochemical properties of CoO during the conversion reaction. Through optimized Co NP synthesis and electrophoretic deposition (EPD), CoO Li-ion battery with 630 mAh/g was fabricated with high cycle stability, which can potentially be used as a test platform for a fundamental understanding of conversion reaction.

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have attracted much attention because of their moderate light-to-electricity conversion efficiency, easy fabrication, and low cost. At present, platinum (Pt) is used as a counter electrode in DSSCs. However, it is found that Pt dissolves in iodide electrolyte solutions and creates chemical compound such as PtI4 and H2PtI6. Carbon based materials are one of candidates for a counter electrode of DSSCs. We prepare two types of graphite oxides by different chemical treatments; original graphite oxide, hydrazine treated graphite oxide. Each graphite oxide and magnesium nitrate dispersed in deionized water are prepared as solutions for electrophoretic deposition (EPD). Each graphite oxide electrode is deposited on fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate by EPD method. Structural and electrochemical properties of each electrode are investigated by field-emission scanning electron microscopy and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, respectively.

High-temperature superconductor films of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$ were fabricated by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) from alcohol-based suspension. Maximum stability is observed for the suspension containing iso-alcohol as the dispersion medium. However, for the formation of a dense and adherent coating of YBCO on a silver substrate by EPD, the best results were obtained in mix PrOH and BuOH suspension. The superconducting critical current density (J$_{c}$) was 1200 A/cm$^2$ for a films deposited in 30% iso-PrOH and 70 % iso-BuOH suspension.ion.

The coating of conductive polypyrrole (Ppy) on nonconductive ceramic substrates was performed by polymerization of pyrrole (Py) in an aqueous solution. The Ppy film was characterized by scanning electron microscopy and conductivity measurements. Electrophoretic deposition of bimodal alumina suspension prepared with a phosphate ester was performed using Ppy film as a cathode. Fabrication of alumina ceramics with irregular shapes or complicated patterns were also attempted by sintering the deposits together with the Ppy coated substrates in air.
